I tried turning my passion into being profitable for me but it didn't work out, I guess that the industry of my passion is too competitive and I don't have what it takes financially at the time. I love to sing and at a point in my life I thought that if I didn't sing that I wasn't going to do anything else, I tried but couldn't make it to limelight, now I just sing to relax, that zeal to take it up as a career has diminished, maybe one day I'll get over the disappointment and give it a try again. Now I'm focused on my business and cryptocurrency.

Yeah, it doesn't just sound fun but it is fun if you can do it. Unfortunately, in my case, I couldn't do it, or I could say I never got the opportunity to try very hard.

Gaming has always been my passion, I've always loved playing games up until now, I used to be good at playing almost any game that I played and I knew I had it in me, but for some reason, I couldn't make a profession out of it or monetize my passion.

When I was younger, I was dependent on my father and then on my elder brother to take care of my expenses such as education and stuff, and being a good boy who has been raised very well, I have always tried not to put a lot of burden on them, and we all know how expensive it used to be and it still is to have a proper gaming and streaming setup, so I never urged to get one.

When I graduated from college, I did try running a YouTube channel, I used to record the games that I played and uploaded montages and stuff on the channel. The channel actually started taking off a little bit, but then I got busy with my personal life, got married early for personal reasons, and then couldn't carry that on.

Despite all that, I can say that the dream is still alive inside of me and it will always be, and as soon as life gives me another opportunity, I'll try my best to make it come true.

When we're young, we all have these big dreams that someday we'll get to make a living off doing what we love.  But, that ain't easy.  It sure ain't all sunshine and rainbows - most folks end up settling into a steady office job just to keep the lights on, even if it doesn't exactly light our souls on fire and  and for most people those dreams of starting their own little hobby business or whatever stays just that... dreams.

But when some of us get older, that itch is still there, you know? We get tired of the whole office politics grind and decide hey, maybe it's time to finally take a real crack at that crazy dream we had when we were 20-something.  For me that dream was getting into woodworking. 

Now I chose a totally different career path in the IT world early on, but Id always been lowkey interested in making stuff with my own two hands.  Call it my genes or something - my grandpa was actually a carpenter, but he died when I was just a baby so I never met him.  I just heard stories about him and saw some old pictures.  Anyway, now that I'm approaching middle age and money ain't really an issue anymore I've been slowly tryin to follow in his footsteps, if you will. Right now, it's just a hobby. But I wouldn't be surprised if someday I quit my job to pursue it full-time.

It's not easy that what we have as a hobby can become a sufficient source of income. It takes a long time, not to mention unstable income or being underestimated by people around you. It seems like seeing someone who is successful from a hobby looks good in our eyes, but somehow he builds it to become that successful. It's full of struggle and a long process, especially since they already have jobs in the private sector or government. With a large salary and a respected position, not everyone is willing to risk what they have earned in their work. In my opinion, there is no hobby that produces results, but your patience is what creates a process that will produce results. The more patient you are, the bigger the payout.

Not all hobbies have the potential to be monetized. Some hobbies are only for fun and cannot be monetized for example,  if somebody's hobby is eating, how does one monetize it?

You will be lucky if your hobbies are monetizable because then doing the business will be pleasurable.

When business is pleasurable it is easier to operate.

Turning one's passion into profit is not always easy to achieve but with determination and hard work your imagination will turn to reality. Why many people also find it difficult to turn their passion into profit is  not because they are not determined on what they want, but that they allow self-doubt to make them  not focused on one thing. So they want to do so many things at the same time which is impossible because you cannot serve two masters at a time.

If you want your passion to become your profit, first you have to know what you want, understand what so ever that is your passion and be the best in it, example if fashion or catering is your passion you should go for a training on any  passion of your choice and know it very well knowing that one day it shall be your profit,  you can start from small advertisement from there you will upgrade, your passion is already turning into profit.

Ever since I was in High School (secondary level), I always play games particularly online MMORPG games. It has been that way even though I graduated in college already, but lack of time, and priorities shifted me to another genre of games which is MOBA because MMORPG games are so time-consuming (at least on my part) especially those who needs grinding to get a powerful item.

When I see different people earning money through playing games, I've always wanted to do the same as well, but becoming popular in the world of streaming is very hard because it's very saturated. There are many people doing it already and becoming popular is hard nowadays. Struggles? Becoming popular is one reason that's why even though you're very passionate with the one that you're playing, you can't even make money off of it because you aren't that popular. We know that streaming can give lots of money especially to those games, right?

Until now, my dream is still a dream. No progress at all, but I'm not giving up on that. I've always wanted to be a popular streamer. I will not stop playing whatever happens.

I'm too scared to turn my hobby into business and I like the comfort of my day job. The largest struggle I face is managing the time, currently I need to work extra time at my job and have barely any time left to spare. The hobby that I'm trying to turn into an income source too is time consuming. And it's not just the time but your brain too needs rest. Quitting my day job is an option but I'm with it for 10 years of my life and it has became a part of me. Plus the current times are scary for business as AI, robots and large corporations are killing every small ideas.

I have a specific hobby which I can't tell you here for privacy reasons, I'll just give you hint like it's an outdoor physical activity and I film it as vlog and was uploaded on YouTube I actually earn small amount of money from it but I am not getting active in there as I need to spend more money for my gears and stuff so yeah it's not that profitable since I need more money and effort to make it a successful channel.

This is something many people are doing in this world now, they don’t usually wait for government to provide for them, instead they used their talent to create something valuable that will fetch them money for their survival.

The main example of people that turn something they do for fun as business are the art guys that draw. Most of these guys do all this for fun, but when they draw for you, you have to pay them for their service. Moreover, some people do study something and intends to do it for fun and end up turning it into business which is very important and  it helps economic development of a country because it is like reduction of unemployment.

Hmmm its a tricky question because I don't have any hobby which keeps me busy and amused as well. I honestly don't want to do anything. just want to lay down in whatever beautiful place I want. I don't have funds that's the only thing I am working. Hahaha. but yeah due to this forum and posting and other writing stuff I think I like to read and consume content and I wanted to compose content too.

I realized it a long time ago before building sites. I Did well according to the results I got. But due to lack of time I was not able to start web mastering again. But I will be free for sometime now and will definitely work on my this idea. I will start a blog and do the semantic SEO and other stuff which I will be learning and learned local SEO already.

I love browsing the internet and at the same time sitting in front of my PC reading stuff and playing.  With the existence of the cryptocurrency and different projects that sprout from it, I am able to do what I like best and at the same time produce profit from it.

I was criticized by my parents when I give up my work and fully allocate my time sitting in front of my PC.  Little that they know that I am working my ass out to establish some form of profitable venture while playing games, and trading cryptocurrency.  I do not argue with them instead I practice patience and just show them the fruit of my labor.

This might be not a pro tip but I suggest that a person who wanted to turn his hobby into a profitable activity must have the courage to take the risk in order to profit from what they love doing. Patience, research and understanding the goal and plan.  Aside from that, there should always be a second option  if ever the plan did not work.  It is always best to have a backup plan because it is not 100% that everyone will be able to get monetized on what they love doing.

I think it is very common for people to have the thought or belief of turning their passion into something that would be profitble for them and earn them money, but just like a lot of us have found out, things do not always work out in that way. My hobby is playing football and i always had that dream to play football professionally, but it didn't work out in that way for me and somewhere along the line i chose a different career path, and i don't have any regrets, i still play though, but solely as a hobby right now.

I love cooking, and I can actually cook all the local dishes of my country. I consider myself to have a passion for cooking, but I get more occupied with so many business activities this time around. If I ever want to start monetizing or making profit with that passion, I will be doing some cooking tutorial videos and uploading them to my Facebook page or YouTube channel, and after my channel or my Facebook page gets established, it can be monetized. That has been an idea running through my head, but I cannot bring it to light because I will not have the chance to start cooking and doing video. I literally get busy from Monday to Saturday and only use Sunday as a resting day. There's no way I will use my resting day to still cook and do video.

People are often most successful at life when they love or have a lot of interest in their work. It makes it much more fun to get up every morning and do something that you want to do, rather than simply churning out a living while making someone else richer. Take someone who likes mountain biking for example, they are using all sorts of different gadgets all the time in order to make their experience better and if they can turn that around into bulk buying products they know will sell well, they could start off a small bicycle accessories shop. The challenge is start up finance, dynamism and having the perseverance to tolerate many setbacks or failures along the way, that's what makes the best entrepreneurs.

Anyone who gets lucky to even earn some living from having to become serious about their passions, will still find it boring at some point and opt to either take a break, find someone who can learn how to do same and take it quite as serious so you can rest from it, or simply just quit and be free or find another hobby that's just a hobby until it starts to earn again.

The discipline to stay on at that hobby and keep trying to increase productivity and profit will make one a master in no time and one would have been able to find some form of fulfillment from completing the required task to achieve the end results.

Turning a hobby into a business is no different than creating any other business, it is just that in theory since you like what you are doing, you will be inclined to dedicate more time to this business as you actually like what you are doing.

However I am skeptical about such a thing, as it does not matter how much you may like something, if you do it every day, and instead of the entertainment value you got out of your hobby, now you are doing it primarily as a way to make money, I am quite sure you will come to hate your business and lose that enthusiasm.

I guess it's more of my passion for my career that it turns into a moment of monetization. It just gives value and makes it into a more enjoyable stance just because of the money. It's really interesting for people to be able to do that and I believe if you just work hard / smarter, you can reach that too.

I'm not at the point where I want but it's getting there step by step.
