E better make them dismiss student wey dey institution for 1st year than for student to dey 4th or 5th year. E better to imagine am than make e happen for real say they ban account when e don become snr member+. Since I know the badness of plagiarism punishment for this forum, I never tire to dey talk about am.
This time around, I don open this thread make i take help newbies make dey dey try avoid this danger called plagiarism.
I go talk about the possible reasons why people dey plagiarise for this forum and suggest solutions.

WHY NEWBIES DEY PLAGIARISE:
1. Them no know the consequences wey dey for plagiarism for this forum:
Person wey know the in and out of the full consequences of plagiarism for this forum no go fit plagiarism. The victims of this plagiarism na people wey no know the severe consequences of plagiarism for this forum, this people na mostly newbies and low ranking members.  

2. Posting wey dey impress:
When person begin dey do post wey go impress other users, he/she fit shift from em abilities. This go con lead to dey create unnecessary long posts, and to con dey try to maintain the quality throughout the content, go con fit lead to plagiarism.

3. Little/No knowledge on the matter wey we de talk about:
This very act dey result to epileptic composition. Whenever a user commot from em core essence, e must go steal to dey relevant. E go lead to emergency research wey go born plagiarism.

4. Hunting for merit:
When the purpose of the matter no dey to talk about again, learn and impact, the purpose don die as e dey arrive. In the hunt of merit, the user go con dey spam dey plagiarise unknowingly sake of say e wan get the desired goal(merit).

5. When person no know the methods or rules of citation:
Plenty users no be only the newbies no know the conventions of citation(intext, outtext, quotations, inclusion of url). If user no sabi this thing, The issue of plagiarism go be secondary matter. Factually some users don make am become normal thing to dey copy person work verbatim and for the end con still include citation, thinking say e dey right. I go happy if person open  thread on the various ways of citation.

6. Lack of confidence:
Low self esteem fit lead to plagiarism. When you no believe yourself con dey talk of your work. When you the feel say everybody work better pass your own, when you want be like everybody. This go give you the mentality say you be second option to everybody, hence you go start to dey plagiarise to make am standard.

7. Geographical differences:

I believe say big differences dey between people from different parts of the world regarding the thinking of plagiarism - home and school dey play big role for this matter here.

8. Laziness :
Sometimes this plagiarist go know say na crime he wan commit, but because of laziness to cite the authors, or show fresh  idea, he/she go con deliberately plagiarise.

HOW YOU GO FIT AVOID PLAGIARISM:

One of the hardest things to do for this life na to dey live another person version of life. If you follow this lane, you go end up as learner all this time wey you dey this forum. This go create niche for you and plagiarism go commot from your part for you.

3. Post only when you get value to add:
Try no de jump enter  every  discussion, maybe as you de try complete your weekly task . If you join discussion wey you no get value too add, you go see yourself they rephrase and summarize people comments to produce your own. Though dey fit no punish you because of this matter, but na bad habit.

4. Always dey conscious of plagiarism:
When you dey type with consciousness of plagiarism, You go overcome wetin dem  dey call unintentional plagiarism. You fit likely fall victim if you no consider am during work.

5. No post immediately after you research:
Make sure see you no post immediately after you just finish research. If you do am, you fit likely find am difficult to differentiate your personal ideas and the  ones wey you get from research wey need make them cite am.  

6. Get good time management:
All your work, written , audio, visuals etc represents you. If you do am fast fast , nobody go know and defend your weakness. Always they give your best even if nobody dey watch, they fit no get second chance again. Therefore, always dey take your time to prepare your work, if they get things to cite, you go always get time to do am. Like this plagiarism fit dey avoided.

Plagiarism and use of AI get serious consequence for this forum and that alone go fit make the lazy man sit up and get more creative. Me personally like say the forum no dey encourage intellectual theft for em activities. We should always make attempts to soar higher in the market because staying at the top is very compulsory for our well-being. Newbies may want to plagiarize because they want to play smart. Some people feel say dem too get sense reach where dem fit cheat the system but dem dey forget say the system has been long established even before they came along.

If anyone is on this forum and you aren't getting merit easily or you aren't getting merit the way you want, do not go and plagiarize other people's work so that your post will look good in the eyes of the high-ranking members on this forum so that you can earn merit. Just be patient and try to understand how the forum works, or try to find out what you are not doing well to get this merit easily. If you understand this forum, I bet you will start getting merit. Yes, laziness is part of the things that caused people to plagiarise in the forum because they don't want to settle down to understand what they have study to prove to people that they know it very well, by showcasing the message than to plagiarise it in the forum.

Yeah it's true laziness is part of the reasons why most person for plagiarise but I also believe that some persons thinks they can actually out smart the system by using AI tool to edit a plagiarised work or generate text. But unknown to them that they are only being dumb. We have several AI detection tools which are also free online and can be accessed by anyone anywhere. The newbies are the victims to this shame after believing they have found a better solution to their quality post, only for their accounts to get tagged after a couple of detective work here in the forum.

The problem over here is everyone wants to show that they are experts and they know everything hence they just google it and copy paste it and some do that by using tools for rephrasing those sentences and AI. This is a major problem because we need to utilize this forum to gain knowledge or share but not to show off something which we don't possess.
