I started like a newbie infact we all started like a newbie and gradually we all grow to the rank we're now. So I'll advise to those people seeing the newbies as if they're here to harm others please we're here to learn more about cryptocurrency, we all have a target on here.

Well, I don't have much to say but I believe with this information provided, you can be able to know the total numbers of users on Bitcointalk and you should know that in an open community were anyone can come in freely without paying any fees, there are people who can't do things the same way you do. And you should know that freedom of speech is not prohibited here, so as a newbie that you are, and you are also ready to lean from others, I think it would be wise enough for you take some meaningful things in every speech a user say because some people are also picking some informations from your posts as well. Not all words are harmful, you might think that some Bitcoiners here always attack others (mostly newbies) but look at the other hand, they are saying something that you and anyone who's reading them finds something important in it. If you think you are always attacked in every comments you make, then you should try and change your pattern of post. Thank

Who you call as they? It would be appropriate if you came up with actual evidence to back your claim then you would be appreciated.

But here you came with just a thread, nothing to backup what you're saying then don't be surprised if people didn't react in the way you expected.

Internet community is far different, you have to face different things and If you feel offended for everyone's comment then loss is for you.

Only Newbies who refuse to learn first before joining discussions end up being criticized because they are getting a lot of things wrong that is why they get criticized. If you are being criticized then it is because you are doing certain things wrongly then you need to check yourself properly and figure out things you are doing wrong and take corrections instead of taking it to heart. They mean well for the forum that’s why they criticize every newbie getting it wrong, they want the best for you that’s why they are correcting you.

If you don’t want to be criticized then you should have listened to the advice which all newbies are expected to focus on learning first before you start posting that way you must gathered enough knowledge.

You are not the first to be criticized and won’t be the last and here in the forum there is no excuse of being ignorant because every information needed is provided on the forum already.

I don't see newbies as a disturbance to forum and I think no one should see them as once I was a newbie and I was guided by the old members here, I was also roasted by some but never take the words on my heart and thought to leave the forum because they can't do any harm to me other than just words, and I knew I am going to get a lot if I stick to this forum. I gain a lot of knowledge about how can I manage my funds, this forum and reading all these posts, made me realize I should have a investing mind.

In my place, not very people have this mindset, they are like earn money and spend money why save it. And before I was also ok with that mindset until the corona, but still many people are having the same mindset, but this forum changed mine. I feels like open minded haha. Well, If you have some name in your mind then name them or pm them that you don't like there behaviour but my only loyal request is to you will be to avoid them all. Don't try to make happy everyone but mods and admin as they might find your post unhappy if you disobey rules otherwise you can also make them unhappy.

I wouldn't say that only newbies is getting attacked. Often it doesn't depends on ranking, it's more about actions. And often things doesn't happens without any reason.
But in general, newbies is easy target. Put yourself in shoes of old member. You're here for like 8 years and all this time you can see same kind of questions. You get tired to repeat same stuff and you don't understand why they simply can't use search. Then you put your anger on newbie. Not saying that's right thing, but it happens. This is how internet works, it's not always easy here for sensitive people.

Anyway, if there are people who criticize newbies with useful suggestions. I think it is not an attack to the newbies, it is also not a sign that they dislike newbies. The people may just try to give some lessons, they probably have good intention to the newbies. If it seems a little harsh, it's probably because each person may have different approach in giving advice to others. Just don't take it into heart!!

However, if there are people who just criticize without useful advice, just ignore it. Why you need to think too much on them if it is not necessary? You even can put them into your ignorelist.  


No one dislikes newbies because every top member must begin from a newbie.

I won't claim that there aren't members who don't have a harsher attitude than some others, but maybe their attitude is just the result of watching beginners make the same mistakes for years, even though they could do a lot better if they just read the forum rules and some sticky topics in this board. Constructive criticism should be understood in this way, and not as any form of hostility towards any beginner.

Not only not reading the forum rule but also most newbie failed to identify that their created topic is redundant because of too many topics created just like this one.  They fail to check whether the topic is already been raised as if they do not care as long as they post what is on their mind when they can just join the existing topic for discussion and express their thought there.

Not all members of this forum have patience some are easily irritated if they see the same mistakes that have been discussed again and again.

@OP, this is an online platform and members have different tempers and attitudes, so it is better not to have an onion skin and be ready to accept critics and make them a stepping stone for improvement.

To whom are you asking the question? I can see seniors helping newbies on the forum. If you make nonsense posts and create spam that a few members will criticise, it doesn't mean an attack at all. Instead of creating such threads, newbies could take a lesson and correct themselves. We should learn from our mistakes, but we shouldn't repeat them. If you wish to learn, then read more instead of creating threads.

We think the way you view advice needs to change and actually no one attacks beginners on forums when they follow the rules and they don't discuss by defending unclear arguments. No one considers beginners a nuisance because all of us started from rock bottom before arriving at where we are now. There are many people who actually give advice for them to develop faster on forums and it's best to refer to local boards so that beginners can adapt more easily.

Everyone has targets and our job is just to learn to master more things, don't be too quick to get offended when person start giving input because without that we will never develop. Enjoy and improve every input that person give, instead of considering it as a nuisance or attack because without us realizing it, input from person will speed up our development in the forum.

Op I understand your point and it's obvious here In this forum how most newbies are treated, but that is because most newbies are just obviously chasing after merits hence most of their posts are just Hypocritically obvious. Trying to act as a pro or an island of knowledge when you are just spamming the forum is quite annoying, and that's one rules that shouldn't be joked with, as it has lead so many accounts to ban or tags. As a newbie your primary purpose is to learn before making contribution, but most newbies make the mistake of skipping the learning part and just go straight to hunting merits, which is absolutely wrong.

This is like the umpteenth time I have seen newbies complaining about  attacks from senior members.  This was not so when I first joined the forum, I think this era newbies are very soft. They do not want to be corrected by others. There is a saying criticism is like medicine, it tastes bitter going down but it makes you better in the long run.

If the BTT forum and the fully grown members make things simple for us newbies, then what's the beauty in it?

How’s the forum and forum members making things difficult for newbies? The merit system? Newbies get merits for posts that wouldn’t be considered merit worthy if they were written by an older member, this is just to encourage newbies. Little wonder why when these accounts get to a higher rank, they find it difficult to rank up.

Newbies are being attacked and treated that way because they are claiming to be smart that they have known a lot within a short period of time whereas they have not, they are suppose to be reading in order for them to know what is Bitcoin,how it functions, the purpose at which it was created, investment and others,instead, they will start lecturing the forum, some do not take to correction if corrected and ask questions that are not suppose to be. In the real life, or during your high school, there are bullies. The same is applicable online, there are also bullies here. Some of the bullies just in real life situation doesn't have anything to offer rather to create problems and bully their victims. Same is applicable here, some users have nothing to contribute but to attack newbies.

Sorry, not everyone is here to learn about bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Some are here to scam, some to spam, some came to join signature and that is why different newbies behave differently according to their motive to the forum.

I wouldn’t classify criticism as a form of bullying. These “attacks” have nothing to do with the reputation of the account, if it gets to DT members tagging newbies for being newbies then it would be bullying. So far I have not seen anything like that on the forum.

Every established members were once a newbie. They wobbled and fell, wobbled and fell until their feet became strong and they're where they at. So no one despises newbies we know newbies are bound to make mistakes and that's why they're always corrected when they make one. I understand that some persons might be a little bit harsh on their approach but you should learn to look beyond it and pick the correction.

What make you think that you are no more a newbie? This topic shows how newbie you are. If you grow to full or senior member, you will understand.

This is a forum, we learn from each other. Some newbies will come and make some wrong posts and they will be corrected. Accept correction. But newbies are more tackled than older members, just also accept that and grow.

If you want to get better replies, show some examples of what you are talking about. I mean a screen shot or quote or link of the posts that you are talking about.

These are what I think the reason why newbies or lower rank thinks about why other forum members attack newbies which is criticizing newbies and newbies not accepting help. This is a forum which is made to be used for discussions about crypto and that's why people should expect to get corrected when they make a mistake. Even someone like me made a mistake but I accepted it which made me realize that I made a mistake and they helped me learn from it.
