Tell your friend to be happy that at least he's winning. Tell him that they are some persons who bets and do not even win at all. I don't know what game he bet on but tell him that if it is the game of chance like slots , that he has no control over the money that he wins.

My advice is not to bet an amount that you are not ready to lose, because in gambling when you are ready to bet you are also ready to lose 100%. Some gamblers continue like this, just because they wish to get back why they have lost die to their gambling activities. the fact that he is even winning in some of his games shows he is doing the right thing but the losses are part of the process of gambling. You don't expect to win all the time if not the gambling owners will go out of business so you just advice him to continue playing responsibly, don't bet above what you can afford to loose regardless of the winning potential of the game. I'm sure your friend has seen and heard of people winning huge amounts of money. The only help I can give is to emphasize that gambling is for entertainment purposes only so all those motive that makes gambling as source of income shouldn’t be tolerated since all gambling games has a house edge advantage.
