Those two things usually do not go together - bitcoin and getting influenced by celebs to buy specifically bitcoin.

I think these celebs are more likely to promote altcoins and NFTs and that crap and the people who listen to them will buy them too. But bitcoin, nobody sponsors it, why will that celeb promote it? Think about it yourself.

I started bitcoin because I saw users accepting payments in it and I got interested in knowing more about it.

You do have a point. But there are influencers or content creators who solely create content for crypto and even without any sponsor they might spread word about bitcoin just out of good will which could have ended up in someone’s feed considering the algorithm.

There are so many ways to learn about bitcoin and many more ways to actually understand it. The internet is very vast and very helpful nowadays.

Investment shouldn't be done based on other peoples opinions or because it is what people seems to be doing or talking about, you must be self conviction enough to understand the prons and cons of such investment and tailor it down to your own level of preparedness as to that regards in order for you to make an informed decisions that will suits you along side achieving your goals and objectives.

Before joining this forum, I had very little knowledge about Bitcoin, and although I had a lot of stories about how people will invest a lot of money in it, and within months they became very rich, I was very skeptical because MMM, Ponzi scheme, had scammed a lot of people in my country. I never believed influencers or any other sources, until I joined this forum and became convinced that Bitcoin is a store of value and a very genuine and legit investment. It was this forum that really opened my eyes to the reality of cryptocurrency, many ignorant people out there still thinks that other crypto coins/ tokens are parts of Bitcoin, they get scammed and blames it all on Bitcoin.

They are probably just getting to know Bitcoin, so they are starting to invite people, including their visitors, to start investing in Bitcoin. I also don't know those people, but they should be able to research it first before investing.

We don't know whether it is a wise decision because it depends on each person. Hopefully, they can research it before deciding so they don't make the wrong decision. If not, they will have difficulty making a profit.

Basically, the interest in Bitcoin investment is increasing day by day, only if you see the investment of a celebrity, but not the same as what you would invest. The thing is you can’t simply just stumble upon something just like that, most people got here through social media or through reading articles. It is not necessarily that one influencer will be the reason to invest into bitcoin but it could because of group of investors that were spreading the FOMO around social media that got many people attention.

As for doing research it was definitely necessary to do that research after finding out from the social media and do some the research is what brought some people here in the forum. Research is an important thing to do even if someone introduces you to something

If OP thinks the current generation is investing in Bitcoin, chances are they are currently inspired by celebrities or influencers. However, if you ask everyone on this forum, my answer is impossible, especially those who have been on this forum for a long time. No. What you have to think about is that many famous and influential people from the world of entertainment have promoted crypto, and it has not ended well, they have even been fined for promoting risky investments, that is, they did it simply for money without understanding that they were selling. Celebrities and  influencers have a lot of influence on the decision  their followers make. However when it comes to Bitcoin there is very rarely any celebrity who has an independent thought on Bitcoin. If there are, it's just only a few. The ones who support Bitcoin do it as brand ambassadors for some exchange which I don't like. I want to see one come out and speak truth to power about Bitcoin.

I don't and have never followed a celebrity or an influencer to the extent that I would get persuaded by them or inspired by them to do a certain thing, especially if it involves finances and investments because I know it's foolish to follow someone's advise and do something that you don't even know anything about even if that person is your favorite or you like them and follow them everywhere.

For me, it isn't reasonable and I don't think anyone should make such mistakes. When it comes to making financial decisions, it should be you who should be taking those decisions and those decisions shouldn't be influenced by anyone, even if it's a celebrity that you love a lot and you always do what they do or ask their followers to do.

Definitely no, if someone invest in Bitcoin because of celebrities, it means they didn't even understand the asset that they bought. They're the one who panic selling when Bitcoin price down 5%-10% in a day and can't hold the the price to bounce back.

I didn't invest in Bitcoin because of any celebrity. However, I didn't know what Bitcoin was, a friend of mine gave me the first idea about Bitcoin. I got interested in investing in Bitcoin after hearing about Bitcoin well from my friend. At some point came to know about this bitcointalk forum, since registering my account here I have gained more knowledge. From this forum I learned how to invest in DCA method, I learned that long term investment in Bitcoin can definitely be profitable. Currently I continue to invest in DCA method.

If you happen to genuinely know a celebrity one on one and then maybe they give you advice to invest in Bitcoin it is different from when you take a general advice from a celebrity that did not give to you in particular.

This depends on how the influencer conveys something or educates the public. If we hear it makes sense, we should first study the impact of the investment itself, don't just think about the profits. If you are ready for everything then you can start. I myself happened to be introduced to cypto investment through a friend of mine. At first I was very doubtful about this investment, because I saw many people experiencing big losses in my country. As time went by, I myself understood the concept of investment itself.

I didn’t get into Bitcoin because of some celebrity but media exposure definitely played a role. When Bitcoin started receiving attention from mainstream TV channels I became interested and wanted to learn more about it.

Taking advice about anything from a celebrity is usually seen in a negative way, but if they are well informed and can make a coherent intellectual argument, it is something which can only be beneficial and help drive adoption.
