From OP’s post history, he usually posts in the Indian premier league thread so I assume he is from India. From the Bollywood movies I’ve seen, it’s normal for the bride’s family to sponsor the wedding.

OP may have made profits from his bitcoin investment but I do not agree with the way he went about it. Borrowing money to invest in bitcoin is a no no for me. In this case, OP had very little knowledge of bitcoin prior to making the investment which means a lot of things could have gone wrong. Luckily for the OP, all went well.

After such an experience, I would expect the OP to be more active in bitcoin discussions rather than gambling section but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

I don't know if it's your luck to be at the right market moment or it's your knowledge. but from your story, I think you are just getting to know Bitcoin. Honestly, it's very risky, and don't try it again. now the price may not be as you expected in a short time.
Your luck is to buy at the right time and you get a good moment to sell. I can't imagine if the ending isn't what you expected. Hey congrats! you're so lucky because by the help of your friend,  you've acquired huge money by investing in bitcoin. For sure, your father is very happy on your achievements however, Investing in bitcoin cannot change everyone's fortune overnight, It really requires skills and knowledge by doing it, it's just that, luck is really on your favor right now. This is another misconception my friend, Bitcoin do not change lives overnight, because if it did, everybody here would have been multi millionaires by today, but rather it is an asset that prevent your fund from inflation, and likely to to change your life if been held over long period of time, and not overnight.

Some comments on this thread are doubting whether the OP story is true or lie, but I won't worry about that because I'm not in his family to confirm, I however look at the bright side of the story, that Bitcoin, can actually change a person's fortune. The OP was lucky that he invested and within months Bitcoin price surged, and he was able to get more than double his investment fund in ROI, what if price had dipped instead, he wouldn't be singing this happy song. Bitcoin is a long term investment, not a get rich quick scheme, and I believe that anybody that borrows money to invest in it and wants to get profit on the short term is gambling his funds, because Bitcoin is volatile, it's price and pump and dump on the short term, and there's nothing that the investors can do about it.

I cannot tell exactly that OP is lucky because he invested a lot of patience understanding the price volatility of bitcoin, and trusted bitcoin despite of its uncertainty, and now he is only reaping what he sow months ago. One of the lucky ones in Bitcoin like this, I feel this is the result of very good research that he did. I am sure that before deciding on the choice to invest in bitcoin, he will look at the amount of supply available in bitcoin, and the price movement from the beginning of bitcoin to the current price. Armed with this knowledge and high confidence, he finally decided to choose this method to become rich. Luckily his father didn't set a time limit that could stress him out and disrupt his schooling.

The story might be true or not, we don't know that. Let's say it it. It's clear that $2k is a lot of money for OP's father, so why did OP decide to invest it instead of investing his own money? I only hope he held bitcoin himself instead of on an exchange. I also don't recommend to anyone that they buy bitcoin just to sell it a few months later, especially when you have a target in mind that you have to reach to achieve something, like buy a house, or a pond, or finance a wedding. This is not what bitcoin is for and speculators usually get burned.

I first got confused when you said your father has to tender two ponds to marry your elder sister, I was like what, then I realized you want to say, he tendered those two minds for the marriage of your elder sister. Haha silly me. Well, I am glad that BTC worked well for you, I also invested in BTC when it was around $25k and I invested till $35k. So I don't know how but my average buying comes out to be around $28k on my exchange.

I am also glad that I made some profit, as I am not a technical trader, but now I understand you don't have to be a good trader, but some knowledge of the market can make you some money as part-time, but if you want to  take it as full time then learning all the skills from basics to advance is necessary. You decide to discuss this now despite the fact that you are active here and the last time Bitcoin was traded around $70k range was 5 weeks ago and quoting your state, you sold your Bitcoin at that price but didn't discuss this all this while but you decided to share that today. I'm not sure why but do you care to tell us why or your sister was married off today and you were over joyous.

I think you might have invested in Bitcoin in early days of October 2023 because in the month of September its value was still under $30k and it even didn't cross $29k.

If your story is true than congrats you have achieved something good by investing in Bitcoin but if it's just created to fish merits then I must tell you that no one will send you any merits for this story.

However, I hope you'll earn better profits from Bitcoin again when you invest in it so you can create and better story and share the results as well. A story without proper results is almost a fake one these days.
