I am using a different browser recently because it has dark mode which I like so much. I wanted to enable a notification on a topic and I saw what I wrote as the topic title. You can see it yourself

I went back to my old browser because I have not uninstalled it. It did not show anything like this. But I am curious to know what could be the meaning of it if I mark it.

I don't know the reason why the browser is requesting you to temporarily turn of java script. I make use of dark mode too on my mobile device but it has never returned this message when I try to enable notifications for a topic. However what it means is that if you hit the check box and click on Ok , your browser will turn off java script till the next time you attempt launching Bitcoin talk. From my coding experience java script dialogues are responsible for  the dynamic behavior of pages like being able to get an updated page without reloading.

Bitcointalk requires java script during the process of logging in or registering an account because of the captcha you are required to solve in those pages. However I haven't tried turning off java script to surf the forum.

Never seen something like that on firefox and chrome. I will only assume that feature is only for that specific browser for the alert() javascript function. For the that dialog message, it will literally disable javacript if check it.

I am curious to know what could be the meaning of it if I mark it.

The browser you were using would disable JavaScript alerts that are shown to confirm certain actions until you close the browser and launch it again.

I'm not sure what would be the outcome of it because if it's not showing a notification or alert asking for your permission to do something, you wouldn't be able to say yes or no. It might directly perform a function if you click a button without showing the alert, such as if you click on "notify" on a topic, notifications will be turned on without the browser asking you if you actually want to go ahead with it or not.

You should open the browser again and mark it just to experiment, maybe.  Smiley

I think that dialogue appears for the ones who use that browser because on my end I don't see that dialogue at all. I believe the browser that you're using might have some issues or bugs, you may try to report those bugs to the browser team, and they may fix those bugs.

What browser you are using and what specific extension for your dark theme? It looks like you are using mobile device due to the notification picture.

Your dark theme version is what I’m looking for because it’s not straining in the eyes. Sorry if I hijack your thread for a different matter. Just curious on what tools you are using because I already tried many dark theme extensions but nothing works like what you are using in the forum.

Appreciate the feedback.

This is the first time I have seen this kind of problem.

This isn't a problem, it's just an extra feature/option provided by the browser OP is using. You get the same dialogue if you are using Chrome but without the option to disable JavaScript dialogues until the next browser launch.

This has happened several times, which is likely due to a browser bug.

Several times? Where? Can you please show us? And, how can a bug create a checkbox followed by a logical question in a dialogue box?  Huh

You can clear the data and try again, and it will be resolved.

As I said above, it's not a problem that needs to be solved, it is just an extra option provided by the browser being used, probably, and clearing the data won't make a difference here.

If it is you still need to fix it, you can message support to find out what problem it is causing.
