Hey guys good day to y'all. It seems BTC wants to tap the 4-hour OB before moving up to the $73k region or so. Anyway, that's not why I'm writing this... I haven't really explored the world of web3 wallets in about a year of being crypto-inclined. In the process of taking advantage of the incoming run, I want to explore this sector and familiarize myself with some wallets, so I require your opinions regarding the web3 wallets you've used. Please share your experience, how long you've been using them, and how's the user experience and any advice/tips you could share on short notice

I haven't really explored the world of web3 wallets
~

This topic has nothing to do with the Bitcoin discussion because there are no so-called "web3 wallets" in the Bitcoin ecosystem. You should move this thread to ALtcoins section.

I don't see any difference in using a web3 wallet compared to any wallet like BTC.
If it's a web3 then it is only for web3 dApp and tokens that support multiple networks.

Just don't use a web3 wallet from exchanges even if they provide you with a backup key for me it's not safe. Another thing is exchanges offer cloud backup which is not safe.
So if you want a safe wallet only use a wallet that you have full control like Metamask wallet or use a hardware wallet like Trezor it is much more secure than the wallet from exchanges.

They are the same just any other wallets, it just became fancy because there's a tag "web3". There is no big difference from the usual wallets that we use as common as the "multicurrency" wallets so nothing special about it. I think if you want to see the difference in description, I guess that it is because it's been used today with the airdrops and you'd get to feed that wallet of yours with fees that you should be prepared for. So, that's what comes to my mind upon using them and that's why I stick back to the common wallets that I use. And as suggested, move this thread probably on the Service Discussion for altcoins.

BTC is around 71k today, so good analysis. There are tons of wallets available, such as Bitget Wallet, Keplr, Trust Wallet, and MetaMask. You should do more research and choose the one that suits you best by looking at reviews. I use the first one, which is celebrating its 6th anniversary. You could start there.

It's six years being in existence but I've only used it for 3 years. It's a good one you know, due to its hybrid like nature that supports both Dex and Cex. About the event shown in the pic, how can one participate?

Please can you elaborate on what way they are similar to non web3 wallets. They are better than the usual wallets in many ways. I don't recollect that a simple wallet can provide features like staking, swapping & becoming an interface or a bridge with dapps. Those wallets that started as a simple wallet have now evolved themselves to a web3 wallet.

if you're talking about wallet like metamask or binance wallet I think the experience is pretty much the same.
you are given the flexibility of interacting with dapps through these wallets but the security isn't so great since there's many cases of people just approving whatever dapps are trying to do with their wallet and as a result
they got their money stolen, the security always lies to the end user, if they are easy to trick then there's always possibility the money stolen from them.
same thing with other wallet, I think most of wallet nowaday is just the same having similar feature with metamask there's not much differences.
so you probably won't notice any difference other than the difference in user experience and user interface and thats it.

If it's a web3 then it is only for web3 dApp and tokens that support multiple networks.
Web3 wallets are popular for lots of key features and activities.
For some people that is all they need and some web3 wallets offer features and activities only unique to their platform. The range of coins and tokens allow for a smoother process of exchanging network to network.

So if you want a safe wallet only use a wallet that you have full control like Metamask wallet or use a hardware wallet like Trezor it is much more secure than the wallet from exchanges.
Web3 wallets are decentralized and you have full control of your coins. Metamask is a popular example of web3 wallet actually. It’s probably the most popular one right now.

I don't recollect that a simple wallet can provide features like staking, swapping & becoming an interface or a bridge with dapps. Those wallets that started as a simple wallet have now evolved themselves to a web3 wallet.
Because even the multicurrency wallets has also those features that you have mentioned. While some lack and I agree to you that they are better but what are you really up to depends on what you can say about such. That's why for me, there's really no difference at all with the other wallets that we used to have and the web3 wallets that are currently being advertised by the exchanges as they've developed one.

Not all the typical wallets have evolved because many of them still remains to be the current that they have been. While the exchanges have been developing these, there are also the web3 wallets that are being trusted by the community of whatever project they are supporting. And that is the reason why I don't think that there's a lot of differences from them and if the use is just for storing, all of them has got it. So, a few features that these web3 wallets have is an advantage as you've said.

But again to me, I don't use a lot of them and I am okay with the current wallets that I have so, if you have an option and you like to use them because you've got a lot of funds to get into staking, swapping or so on, maximize the usage of them unlike any other people like me.

Wtf is a web3 wallet?
Was the notion of owning a regular wallet not decentralized enough? Sounds like marketing BS.
