There are now a lot of merchants accepting mintcoins, litecoins, dogecoins and many other coins. But without people actually buying stuff with their coins, those merchants will become dissapointed with their decision to accept a new digital currency.

Personally I bought an USB cable for my iPhone with leafs at the official leafcoin webshop. The coin payment implementation could be a bit better but it was a nice experience to actually use my coins for what this crypto currency is intended.
