Just from the title alone… I wanted to ask what possibly the best wallet to hold bitcoin in?
Before anyone says that it depends on what I need specifically then here is what I am here for. I can not decide which one really is the best based on the things I want. First of all I plan on holding some bitcoin (not huge amount) for a foreseeable future. However I also plan on swapping it for usdt from time to time aka when the price is getting high. I need a wallet that has low fees when swapping , preferably decentralized and in mobile and is secure.
Any recommendations?

Bitcoin Core? Space is not even a problem if you enable pruning. I see no reason to use something different.

You can use Unstoppable wallet. It has has the swapping feature and it supports bitcoin. It is still one of the best bitcoin wallet. But if you want to hold your coins, cold wallets are better, especially if it is huge amount. Bitcoin Core? Space is not even a problem if you enable pruning. I see no reason to use something different.
He is not referring to Bitcoin Core. He is looking for a good wallet that he can swap bitcoin for USDT and swap USDT back to bitcoin.

You need to stop posting what is wrong and what can mislead people. He is not saying he has Bitcoin Core, why recommending a wallet that will take over 500 gigabyte to download the full blockchain? Even if it is a Prune node, how about the daily data requirements to keep updating it to the latest blocks? This is not what the user want. At least recommend an SPV wallet instead. Bitcoin Core is also still an online wallet and not cold wallet.

Most wallets have their sizing for each transaction and you can set it from low priority to highest priority per transaction that you make so it won't be a problem. It's still best to own a hardware wallet if you have plans of holding your BTC for a long time. IMHO, it doesn't matter whether you hold big or small, if you are for security then buy a hardware wallet like a Trezor wallet because it will serve as your investment too to protect your asset. But if you can't avail that yet, the option for you is to use Electrum but this for Bitcoin only. There other desktop wallets too but most of the members here will suggest you Electrum. And about the swapping, you can use instant exchanges to transfer it there. If you use windows, you have other options too ~> https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet?step=5&platform=windowsAnd for the hardware wallet, aside from Trezor there are other options as well ~> https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet?step=5&platform=hardware

Why not bitcoin core for real?
I don't recommend Bitcoin Core's wallet to people because of the lack of BIP39 support. Most other wallets allow you to connect to your Bitcoin Core node anyways.

- So far the wallet I use is Trustwallet and unstoppable wallet, as of the moment I don't experience anything bad using the two wallets I mentioned op. But of course it's better to do some research on google so you can confirm if what is recommended to you here is legit. It is better for us to be careful with the apps wallets we use if we are in the field of crypto space like this. Because everything we do here always has an attached risk.

Firstly Op don't store you coins on an exchange because although they are not decentralized they also have full control over your coins. Now since you are going to be hodling the coins, I guess you won't be visiting them often therefore for a safer option I recommend you store the coins on an offline wallet ( a cold storage) or an air gapped device. If you are going to be making use of an air gapped wallet you should make use of an open source wallet and the best I'll recommend for you is ELECTRUM.
Make sure you have a physical back up of your wallet seed phrase and if possible your master private key also. This will help you recover your wallet even if the air gapped device eventually crashes. Wish you positive results in your Bitcoin hodling journey. Don't forget to keep your keys safe 😁

I think the trust wallet would be discouraged as it is a closed source wallet and does not meet the OP's decentralization requirement and it really does not warrant us using it. Another thing is that I have never used the swap feature on the wallet, but I think their fees will not be low, while what the OP asked for is low transaction fees, being able to swap directly on the wallet. I don't think there will be a wallet that can meet all the OP's requirements, I don't think there will be too many options for him.

Wasabi Wallet has the best privacy, it's available for desktop.
The last time I use Wasabi, it is bitcoin wallet and coinjoining wallet but not having swapping feature. You are now a reputed wallet if the Wabisabi coinjoin has been removed. I can also recommend the wallet if password which is passphrase has been changed to passphrase. But the OP will need an exchange to be exchanging the coins. I recommend Electrum which is the wallet that I use the most. I also recommend Sparrow and Bluewallet. They are also all bitcoin-only wallet. Have you changed the password on Wasabi wallet to passphrase or word extension? I remember the last time I used it, it was password. But you clearly know that BIP39 passphrase is completely different from password. If you have not changed that, I will still not be recommending the wallet.

Wasabi never removed the coinjoin feature, Sparrow was the wallet that removed the coinjoin feature. Bluewallet never supported coinjoins at all. With all your explanations on what you needed, i will advise that you go for electrum wallet, i would have given you bitcoincore but am considering the demands expected from you to use that since you're not considering large amount of money involved, just make use of electrum wallet and have it installed on air gapped device, safely secure your private key, you can always make transactions from there to any wallet at an adjustable rate, and its such a wallet that supports for the feature of RBF, you can have both a mobile version or desktop version as you may want it.

From the title alone and without going into what you need, the best way to store your BTC is in cold storage, that is either in a hardware or airgapped wallet. You should also ensure that you use a self custodial and open source wallet. I need a wallet that has low fees, preferably decentralized, and is secure.

Now to what you want, you may need to store your coins in a centralized exchange since you want to swap your BTC to usdt regularly. Take note that if you are talking about fees, then you don't have to worry about the wallet you are using, as all they do is to estimate fees for you, and you have to check the mempool before making your tx. Store some of your funds in Electrum, and if you want to swap regularly, you have to keep some in a centralized exchange and bear the risks.

Electrum is certainly a wallet that I will also recommend for any bitcoin storage but looking at the OP’s preference I think using electrum will be a thing of trouble for him because he still needs to store his usdt. What I think OP is trying to do is probably sell at high price keep the usdt and then buy back at low prices again. Overall it is bad strategy to me. But if that’s what OP wants then he Should go for unstoppable wallet he can save up the two coins there and they still have the swap service there. Make sure you have a physical back up of your wallet seed phrase and if possible your master private key also. This will help you recover your wallet even if the air gapped device eventually crashes.
There is no need for a back of master private key, the seed phrase can be use to recover the wallet and even in the future if electrum fails to exit one can still use tools to recover back the master private key again. Backing it up now will just be a redundancy. More of the reason why seed phrase is the perfect choice for back up

It is better that you store some of your bitcoin in a hard wallet and that should be the bitcoin you will never swap. For the ones that you will swap, you shoukd store them in a seperate wallet which have the swap features. Unstoppable is a good wallet with such features, or you should store the coins that you will be swapping in an exchange so that whenever you want to swap it, it will be very easy especially if you intend spending the swapped bitcoin to USDT.

Bitcoin core is a bad choice for many beginners, I said this because OP stated that he is not even holding a lot of Bitcoin, but he planned to hold for the future, I doing someone like him can afford to run Bitcoin core and download that massive data.
It costs me $30 to get 300MB in my country every damn month and Bitcoin core requests over 500MB right now, that will cost a lot, since this is even Bitcoin we are talking about there are many good Bitcoin wallets out there now compare to alt crypto wallets.
I recommend Unstoppable wallet, everything OP asked for is present in this open source non-custodial Bitcoin wallet, Electrum is also a good choice but I can't recommend the Mobile version, it is too buggy, Unless OP has a laptop PC, but Unstoppable is available on mobile phones, the best ever for anyone looking for a Bitcoin wallet for mobile phones.
