The Nadal vs Fucsovics match turned out to be a thriller thanks to Fucsovics making a comeback in the second round after painfully getting destroyed in the first round by the clay court legend.

Am not expecting Nadal to win a singles Olympic Gold this time around after watching him struggle quite a bit in this match, but it felt good to see him showcase his prowess as usual.

Serbia started the game well, but with a lot of 3-points the USA took control of the game. Especially Kevin Durant, who made shots without missing from the moment he entered the game and helped the USA to open the gap. LeBron is the leader of this team, he managed the game like a maestro. Serbia used Curry's weak defense and put Embiid in foul trouble in first half, but Jokic and Bogdanovic couldn't have much help from teammates about scoring. The USA had a comfortable win in the toughest game of the group. They won't need to up the pace in the next games either. They will be fit for the quarter finals and beyond.

Nigeria put pressure in the first half but they lost because they did failed to take their chances . They froze from the moment Brazil started looking better. I didn’t have my hopes up for the Super Eagles so I can’t say I am disappointed with the results. I’m actually impresssed with how they played today despite the 1 nil loss. Looking at the stats Nigeria were the better side in the match. If they can play like they did in the last 15mins of tonight’s game, I believe they will be able to fare better against other teams in the group.

In the latest female FIFA ranking Brazil occupies the ninth position while the Nigerian super falcons are ranked thirty-sixth. From the reviews, I think the Nigerian female team proved themselves to be a worthy participant in the tournament. But in such a competition performance without points will lead to an early exit. The Brazilian side didn't dominate the games as favourites but they have the important three points. Spain is currently topping group C after winning Japan by one goal to nothing. Nigerian fans will have to be worried because they would have to fight for a place by winning both Spain and Japan. Spain is ranked number one, while Japan occupies the seventh position. The Super Falcons have a lot of work if they want to remain in the tournament more than in the group stage.

What a tight group that the falcons find themselves in and from FIFA ranking it shows that Nigeria is the weak team in their group and I will not be surprised if Nigeria exits the competition from the group stage because they need to fight very hard to survive.

Spain will not allow Nigeria win them and assuming they were able to draw Brazil maybe that would have been a motivation to them in the next game when they will be playing Spain. It is like currently in the football world Spain is the hottest.

Well, the truth is that I have seen that Spain is almost a power in both men's and women's football. I am surprised about Nigeria, because I know that Nigeria has a very attractive football, but something must be wrong, the Black Eagles must have some problems I sincerely wanted Nigeria to win. I have seen a lot of this country, its people and everything, they are very happy, and I think they deserve to win in football, whether men's or women's. I like it. It seems to me not very large, since despite all the decline of culture, not everyone in France is a freak.
The question arises: can some new inhabitants (with a barbaric background) of France be blamed for not integrating into society, etc.? I would not want to integrate into such a society either.

There is so many things happening in Olympics that I struggle to watch everything that I want. Saw very interesting women team archery final. South Korea here won 10th straight gold in this competitin, but fight with China was so tough, overtime was needed and review of last throws to check that arrow actually hit 10
Women football is also interesting, Japan took a win against Brazil by scoring on additional time twice - penalty and goal from far distance where they caught Brazil goalkeeper not ready.
Also watched some tennis, skateboardand now planning to turn in swimming evening session.
Australia lead medal table with 4 Golden medals.

It's already 2nd day of Olympics, and instead of discussing sports, we still talk about opening ceremony. Maybe it's time to move on already? There is things that I didn't liked, but I'm not snowflake to get offended by such things.

I liked some parts of the opening, but overall it was a very psychedelic and unconventional opening. It was almost like a hyperactive drag queen organized some parts. It was nice and successful that the opening ceremony was held outdoors in the city center and around the Seine river, not in the stadium. The lighting of the Olympic fire was ordinary. Honestly, it would have been a legendary event if the fire was lit at the tip of the Eiffel Tower. However, I think that placing the fire in the middle of the Tuliere garden spoiled the whole ambiance and the moment of lighting the fire was not memorable. The final of such a big event could have been bigger and more memorable. Still, I realized that I miss the elegance of the old Olympics.

It was somewhat wierd. Floating the sportsmen down the Seine is kinda stunning. But some of the other thing seemed excessive. The Olympics is about uniting the globe, right? Its not a political rally. Its about highlighting skill, sportsmanship, the human spirit. But this time it felt like we were being preached to, and not everyone will value that.

I agree. The Olympics have to change. Still, we cannot ignore the core of it all. Its about unity, not separation. Its about honouring our differences rather than advancing agendas. Is anyone else watching USA vs Serbia basketball game

I am. Serbia looked good first 5-6 minutes but then USA shifted in higher gear and result is as expected.

Having said that, Serbia shooting for 3 pts has been horrendous in the first qurter, especially Bogdanovic. Speaking of which, I can't believe that at the end of Q1 when they had 3 vs 1 situation he decided to shoot yet another 3, instead passing for an easy points. If Serbia doesn't change their approach, this will finish easily over 20 pts for the US.

Same. KD and Lebron at half - 13/13 33 points lol. KD is limited too. USA only worry is being too good, and players not finding a suitable role as NOT an alpha like most normally are. Heck of a first half

And to imagine that this is not the performance to expect from the USA team is what is scary, the plethora of options is just too alarming, imagine having both Tatum and Haliburton on the bench, these are guys that would literally start for almost any other national out there, not to talk to the guys that where dropped off the team.

I think going by this margin, anything short of gold would be underperformance from the team. Kevin Durant doesn't look like someone that haven't taken any part of the warm up matches, he came in with fully force and efficiency.

A small correction to your post; The men’s team is the Super Eagles and the women’s team is known as the Super Falcons not the Black Eagles.

Spain won the Super Falcons today 1-0. I was thinking Spain was going to brutalize us with so many goals but that was not the case. I’m only worried that Nigeria might not advance to the next stage.

they've already played the complete 90 minutes and Spain has successfully secured the three points to themselves and have qualified out of the group stage. It was indeed a tough battle that was well fought by the super falcons of Nigeria. I had earlier expected that it's going to be a tough game for the super falcons considering that they are playing against the best team in ghe world who are already with three point hoping to another to enable to scale through to the next round at ease. The super falcons defended well and made it almost to the end of the second half before the late header that went straight to the back of the net. Kudos to the goal keeper, from all indication, the Nigerian super eagles and super falcons have one thing in common and that's a super talented goal keeper. They tried but the group seems too hot for them and they will have to face Japan on thier last encounter but from all indication as it stands now, Nigeria super falcons will most likely not proceed out of the group stage of the Olympics.

Good luck with your bet, and as you've suggested hitting the over might be dependent on how well or how many points Greece are able to score because I don't think scoring would be much of a problem for Canada, with SGA, Jamal Murray and RJ Barrett at the helm of their offensive affairs, I think Giannis will impose his play and style on Greece, because at least the team needs to play to the strength of their best player in order to stand a chance.

Unfortunately my bet lost.    I just can't believe it lost by only 5 points... Greece and Canada literally stopped scoring points for some time in the first and last quarters but still managed to score 165 points in total.

Yeah they've had a good run so far.  Some more to come but looks like they will medal up a ton in swimming.  Early on bit the US taking a 5 medal lead against the second place country.  Funny because I never watch swimming but come the Olympics I can't miss it lol.  Same with gymnastics and track.  Couldn't be bothered any other time.  Just love top competition in any sport

This is really terrible as it's playing down on morality and making it feels like it's about relativity hence there's no absolute standards for morality again because by the day it keeps having new ways of looking at it, or better still approaching I, applying too much of flexibility such that it no longer feel like what it actually should be but what people now make of it. How people are embracing something that's not perfectly okay with them and against nature just for the sake of convenience is really disturbing, I hope the vaccine is out sooner and fix the situation on ground.

I watched two Olympic games today.

The first Olympic game was archery, played between Germany and Mexico, Mexico won very easily and advanced to the semi-finals.

The second Olympic game was basketball, I watched the Serbia-USA game and really enjoyed it.
Serbia put up a good fight but lost.
Serbia plays very poorly when Nikola Jokic is not in the game.
The USA players are very good, the stars of the night were Lebron James and Kevin Durant.

Swimming is one of the major sports in the Olympics that's been dominated by American athletes for a long period of time so I'll not be surprised if they continue with their dominance of the sports in this current edition of the Olympics. So far, I've not been opportuned to watch any of the swimming games in the ongoing Olympics but I'll try and make out time to make sure I watch the next swimming game. I will want to see athletes from other countries to challenge American swimmers even when I know it'll be very difficult to stop the Americans.

Bit of a thriller coming up in the morning, I'm giving Nadal more of a chance
against Djokovic than many others. Here is my thinking: Nadal is playing his
favourite surface at his favourite court and has good form. Djokovic got to the
final of Wimbledon with an easy enough draw and had no answers to Alcaraz,
couldnt even take a set from him. I think this upcoming match could be very close.

Winning olympic Gold is kind of out of reach, biggest hurdle if he meets him
