I believe that this news (questions) cannot be dealt with due to two considerations:
- Firstly, because they are (according to the Op’s description) rumours. That is, it is not possible to verify the credibility of its source, reasons for its appearance, or timing.
- Secondly, because there is no concept of “small nuclear attacks” in the nuclear history of countries. If you consider that the Hiroshima or Nagasaki incidents can be considered small nuclear attacks, then let me tell you that those small attacks changed global balances forever and changed with them the maps of countries and everything related to international communication. Today, the least powerful nuclear bomb has a destructive power equivalent to many times the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.

Currently, Russia is not in a position that requires it to use nuclear force in any way, especially since Ukraine (which it is fighting) is not a nuclear state, and all of Ukraine’s allies do not intend to recklessly threaten to support Ukraine with nuclear weapons.
The world has been committed to limiting the spread of nuclear weapons since 1968 (with the exception of India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea), and it seems that no one intends to violate this agreement because everyone is aware that destruction will include everyone.

Another fear mongering post from a Jr. You are late by many months - Putin has been sabre rattling about nukes for the last couple of years, so "rumours about this and that" are just that. Nuclear escalation would only work against Putin, as there is certainty to have an answer.

Just do not open thread after thread on this topic, everyone know what you are and what you are trying to do. Fearmongering is gone because Ruzzia will be subject to a massive non-nuclear retaliation even for "a small nuke" particularly if radiation reaches a NATO country.

This is bullshit as they will not use nuke else we all will be doomed if nuclear war starts, countries who have the nuclear weapon cannot use it now because there are more than one nation which possesses it and if there is any retaliation from another nuclear armed nation that's all. Why would they use it when they are fighting with much weaker opponents who are surviving due to outside support?

Russia has been threatening nuclear since the beginning of the war. No country is stupid enough to actually do it.

I think the NATO need to think very smart so that they don't get hit by Russia.
Russia is a big country with enough nuclear weapon to attack any of their adversaries.
I don't want this war to become a world war so that we more people are not going to make their lives through to mistake of attacking the Russians. I think every country in the West are taking their time to evaluate the consequences of the war because it could have a strong effect on the West majorly.

I've seen many things spread without credibility, so I don't have to sit around imagining another delusion. First of all, I believe that countries with nuclear weapons are aware of the consequences of using them, and retaliation through aid or some other excuse increases tensions between the parties. And I also agree with the view that there are no small nuclear attacks, because nuclear weapons are not small in nature.

I have said it before, and I think it is necessary I need to say it again. I don't like to talk about the use of nuclear weaponry in any way shape or form, the reasons are obvious. From the nuclear weapons and their use (even in small scales) can lead to further worsening of the war and the conflict.

Let us assume indeed Russia started to use small nuclear devices in small areas of Ukraine? The response for the Allies of Ukraine and the whole west it would not only be condemnation of the attack and the use of those weapons, retailiation using the same kinds of nukes would be almost guaranteed, it would be matter of time for the biggest and most powerful countries in the planet to reach mutual destruction. I somehow even assume Israel and Palestine would end up being affected, due to the nuclear capabilities of Iran.

They will not do that. When a nuke is activated I think the rest of the warheads will also be activated for being so paranoid and they will all shoot together against their adversaries.  Russia's latest attack was just the energy sources, I guess they want the Ukrainian military to just be in the dark and neutralized just crawling in the dark.

I guess from where yoy're taking these rumours. Since the war started almost 2.5 years ago, we occasionally hear threats from Russia that they cam use nuclear weapon. But I consider risk that it can actually happen as very low and nothings has changed thatthey would use it now

He is doing his job - Putin is scared to death of a NATO intervention so wants to use the nuclear deterrent, but the fact is a nuclear escalation is likely to end Putin himself in the physical sense of the word. No, Ruzzia will not use a nuke in the current state of things, they have a lot to loose and pretty much nothing to gain from it.

To me I disregard the rumour not to be true. Although it could be possible that Putin may have layed such threat as a terror tactics to demoralize a significant formation of the NATO.

We all already know the threats and warning that has been extended to him, so possibly he jus wanted to remind the World know that he is equiped with nuclear weapons too to fight back.

Literally I believe he would not do that because it has not gotten to that considering the active super weapons in used already and the fact that Ukraine can not overpower him to the extend of unleashing nuclear weapons.

And once WWIII started, Russia would be tasked with... not losing that war.

The only way Russia would even have a snowball's chance of not losing a nuclear war would be to instantly launch all of their own strategic weapons at strategic targets in Europe and the US in order to mitigate a full counter-attack. In other words, they would need to use most of their weapons to bomb our bomb sites, submarine sites, command and control, etc. If they failed to do this (or realistically, even if they didn't), they would suffer a massive counter-attack that would annihilate their ability to make war on anything.

you sound so certain about what Putin can do or can't do! For all I know about Putin, dude could get desperate when he wants to get things done and we can't be certain of what's going on in his mind or the extent to which he would want to follow up on this war. The only reason why we can assume that he wouldn't want to make use of his nuclear weapon is the fact that the use of nuclear weapon is almost out of consideration with choosing war arsenal for a battle. Any nation that goes ahead to make use of nuclear weapon to settle a way deserves to be wiped off the face of the earth.
