It's healthy to do the things we love, everyone should have some hobby/entertainment/relaxation from daily responsibilities, it's not healthy to get into serious problems that can damage our health and the health of our families because of that. So we need to have some control over our addictions or they will eat us, it's like playing with fire. How do you control your gambling habits? Not only in gambling but any addictions are wrong because it means you are overdoing them. However if we are making money on our addiction and we still have the time to do other things and we do still care for our health and the people around us, then I think this isn't totally wrong. In your story, the man is young but he already have a son? And what do you mean by he used it? He sell it to play gambling again? Dang. It shows that the addiction of that young man is already severe. Addicts will now have a hard time controlling their selves, so we should come to the rescue. If you know how addiction works, then you'd know that it is not true. Okay, perhaps let's say a gambler won because he got addicted to gambling. Do you think he would stop in an instant? A very wrong question to ask, why? Because, being addicted to gambling is not a prerequisite or a criteria to or of becoming wealthy through gambling, this are two separate things that have nothing to do with each other, and to even cap it up, am addicted gambler (if not wealthy yet) have a very slim or tiny chances of ever becoming wealthy because, he or she will always gambler everything and lose back to the casino, he or she may even make money from other sources, but still come back to gambling and waste it all.

Well as for me, I think everyone know the reason why he or she get involved in anything they find themselves doing today. I remembered when I was in school then, one of our lecturer in the cost of teaching in a topic chosing the right job. He said that in chosing a right job that we should choose that job in which we have passion for. Think of something you love doing with passion and relate it to choosing the right job or career. There are so many people today that remains in a particular job for over 5 years today not that the job is really paying them well but because they love what they do with passion.
