I don't think it's possible for Bitcoin to reduce crime, instead Bitcoin will help to increase crime in a country, one of the reasons why Nigeria government is against cryptocurrency or Bitcoin is because criminals usually use it to commit more crimes, for example I heard that kidnappers Now use Bitcoin to accept ransom for the release of their victim, the Nigerian government also said that money laundering also happens through Bitcoin and to be honest all this allegations are true, Bitcoin when sent to you especially when you use wallet you can't trace it so criminals usually use it, so there's no way Bitcoin can reduce crime in a countr, it increases crime.

There are different ways through which a government can reduce crime in a country, the must effective method is by creating employment opportunities so a to reduce unemployment. The same way the idea of bitcoin can create job opportunities for citizens, either by trading, investment and advertisement  for example, the knowledge of bitcoin lead to the creation of this forum which has provided jobs for you and I active in this forum. The problem Nigerian government has is the fact that bitcoin operates in a different world with different operational system, denying them access to stealing and diverting public funds to there's that is the main reason the Nigeria government never supported it.

To be honest all investors in bitcoin have gained financial stability with the opportunities created by bitcoin activities  and you and I in this forum are not excluded because it is from the idea of bitcoin this forum was Established

You just nailed it. Your observation is quite absolute. I mean, it is obvious that unemployment amongst the youths is the reason for the continuous crime in the country. Most youths who are not officially engaged with jobs end up losing their moral standard for crime indulgence.

Similarly as you have stated, if Bitcoin should be considered, and adopted by these unemployed youths who need to survive, I think there might be a turn- around for good. Bitcoin is a sustainable development innovation, and empowerment for everyone who needs to survive.

Bitcoin have solved a lot of community problems and this has reduced the rate of violence among the citizens to have reduced because the young ones have seen opportunities in bitcoin adoption whereby they can make use of the time they have to learn and earn as well in bitcoin, invest and still make more earnings from their investments, these are rare opportunities their political leaders cant afford to give and bitcoin is freely offering to everyone.
You are right to say that the unemployment problem plays the biggest role in the increase in crime, especially unemployed youth who lack sufficient money, mainly engage in various criminal activities to manage money. If they get access to Bitcoin and get sufficient income opportunities, then their money management problem will be solved. They will be able to reduce their unemployment with the profit they get by investing or trading, and if unemployment occurs, it will certainly play an important role in reducing crime.

Crime is largely a result of education and poverty
So, will Bitcoin eliminate crime? The short answer is no or let’s say “not really” because that was never its main purpose.
But can Bitcoin give some hopeless individuals a pathway out of crime and toward a better, more sustainable direction, ultimately reducing the number of people drawn into crime every day? The honest answer is absolutely yes.

You will hear many testimonies on this platform from individuals who were almost in a state of depression, no hope and almost ventured into something off a morale mind, but were introduced to Bitcoin and, from there, their lives changed.

Where things become tricky is when there is no proper guidance, or when individuals lack patience and the willingness to learn. They start looking for the wrong ways to make money quickly through Bitcoin. An uneducated or poorly guided person, especially one in poverty, may end up finding their way into cybercrime instead of using Bitcoin responsibly.

We already know that Bitcoin protects a person's privacy, when Bitcoin is widely used in society, people will be involved in more crimes. Basically, many people use Bitcoin to transfer their money from country to country, and money laundering is done through Bitcoin, in that case, people use Bitcoin to commit criminal activities. We already know that most countries in the world have made Bitcoin illegal, so people will only do illegal activities through Bitcoin. Moreover, those who invest in Bitcoin and have no bad intentions will not spread crime in the society. But we know that Bitcoin will never stop crime, but it will help increase it.
Especially when a person commits criminal acts like murder, fraud, cybercrime and drug trafficking, they will definitely transact these through Bitcoin. When they do criminal acts, of course, if the person transacts with Bitcoin, the identity of the person will be hidden, which will increase the crime.  But if we don't use Bitcoin for criminal activities, it will definitely help us financially in the future.

Bitcoin will not reduce the rate of crime in the society and we have been hearing that big businessmen and politicians are using bitcoin to hide their money and using it to launder funds and that was why bitcoin mixers are ban in di forum and if you look at it that is go be another area of crime. As him dey Dave one side another side go dey leaked.

One thing we have to k ow be say bitcoin come to assist the fiat currency and some people dey say bitcoin go take over and reduce inflation. As bitcoin come till now, this year now be di highest inflation year ever. Bitcoin can't do anything again because the sole purpose of bitcoin was for exchange fo goods and services but diversification has taken place to invest.
I really appreciate your opinion, brother! But if you ask me, I will say that Bitcoin can possibly reduce the rate of crime in the society. Take for instance, someone who has been a criminal for many years due to unemployment happens to be introduced to Bitcoin, and suddenly begins to make financial progress in the business may not have time for criminal act anymore, hence, he has a genuine opportunity to make money.

As a result, because he has changed automatically from stealing; it is practically obvious that if there were supposed to be ten crimes to be committed in a day by ten persons, one has repented, having introduced to Bitcoin for genuine income.

It actually can, a lot of young people are now focused on making money from the crypto market and this has made them self employed and they no longer rely on the government because we live in a country where the government doesn't even care about the citizens. It has also helped to reduce crime, most people are involved with trading Bitcoin and investment, they no longer have time to do fraudulent things to make money, it keeps them busy and makes them avoid been idle, after all it is said that an idle mind is the devil's workshop

I don't think bitcoin can help to reduce crime because it has both advantage and disadvantage depending on the situation.

It is most likely to say 'No' and 'Yes' as answers. Bitcoin is not purposeful for reducing crime, yet is can play such role indirectly, though. Most crimes in the country are due to unemployment which has resulted disappointment and frustration in the lives of the youths.

However, if proper orientation, and education are considered for the youths about Bitcoin as a commercial forum, and guided towards the procedures, it can actually cover for the unemployed condition of the youths, and of course may reduce crime, hence they are officially engaged in a genuine profits making business.

In truth, crypto currency has reduced the rate of unemployed youth in society. Most people are now into different kinds of crypto currency trading, both spot and future trades, and they have been making profits from them depending on the area that they are good at.

It's true that someone who is busy with his life can't start thinking about crime because there will be no such time, and he or she will also cut off the kind of friends he associates himself with and mingle with people who speak the same language as him.

@Op, One thing you need to know is that bitcoin doesn't give instant profit, which means that even if you teach unemployed people how to invest in bitcoin, they can't still start having a sustainable income that instant; they still need something that can earn them a daily, weekly, or monthly income in order for them to foot their bills and be able to hold whatever they buy for a long period of time.

What the youth need is empowerment in the tech industry and their area of interest so that they can meet the rising demands of digital works that are flying around on the internet.

Na who get Watin they give am money suppose they reason to invest for bitcoin,
You have just nailed it. The truth is that I have come across many youths both male and female who have proudly attested that Bitcoin investment has really turned their lives around for good. These are youths who were wasting in the streets unemployed. Some were engaged in various crimes, perhaps just to make both ends meet.

Today according to them, Bitcoin has transformed their lives lives. Of course, I am a living witness. I have seen everything with my eyes. They are really doing great in making profits in Bitcoin investment. The message is that; these set of friends are no longer in the streets commiting one crime, or the other, but are seriously busy with their business. Therefore, it is evident that Bitcoin can reduce the rate of crime in the country if consider.

With the level of societal deterioration, even employment as we speak cannot just settle the crimes here and there it will take reasonable time. Right now, immoral act is somehow becoming plausible since morality is easily seen as old school.
Now to think of it, if even employment requires time to balance the society (make it healthy and liveable), is it Bitcoin that actually requires you to be employed (to have a means of income) that can help remove or reduce social crime?

Bitcoin education can be part of the provisions by the government for the people as a way of investing their resources haven provided employment or money making opportunities but cannot (alone) settle the crimes happening.

I dont think bitcoin can reduce crime coz alot of criminal activities these days are done through bitcoin, examples are fraudsters, drug dealers, those guys  wont like to recieve fiat as a means of payment from their client coz its traceable especially in this country where the government authorities dont have the tools to track this kind of decentralized transactions. thats most of these top countries governments are finding possible means to regulate it.

The root cause of crime I see is poverty, 80 percent of people practicing such act are unemployed people because a hungry man is an angry man...
If u talk of crime as in stealing then u go dey right sey poverty hand dey inside am. But me and u sabi sey stealing nor be d only crime wey dey. What about those e-diots Boko boys wey dey kill and destroy? Abi na kidnappers wey full ground? Anybodi wey sey dem dey into kidnapping bc of hunger na lie. Abi na d high level corruption wey dey go on in various places? Dat wan too na crime. Apart from crime from poverty, Bitcoin nor fit solve d rest.

Anything wey break law, na crime. Anybody wey commit crime na criminal. E nor matta d level or type of crime wey e bi.

Poverty and unemployment certainly pushes some young lads into risky or illegal decisions, therefore looking into such issues is crucial. Though depending on Bitcoin as a wide solution will not handle the deeper issues. Bitcoin would provide opportunities for those who that learn it properly, yet it equally has its risks, it is not an assured income, and could invite it's form of fraud when users are not trained properly.

A preferred way is to combine real job chances, skills training, financial education, and a solid assist systems. In that mixture Bitcoin can be part it, though it should not be treated as the major tool for crime reduction.

Although, there are so many factors facilitating the increase in the rate of crime in our society but if we critically deepdown on the root of incessant increase of crime and other criminal activities in our society today it will be so notable that poverty and unemployment especially among the youth are the major anchor to the increase in crime and criminal activities in the society. I think if there is adequate sentization of Bitcoin in our society it will help in the reduction of crime because many people that are involve in some fraudulent activities today would venture into Bitcoin and be making a reasoning resource from Bitcoin if really inconcated with the actually knowledge and information to be successful in the system.
Knowledge they say is power, the knowledge of Bitcoin and it's investment will surely help and liberate a lot of people. Since there's no job or limited job opportunities in the society, a lot of people are into so many unlawful and dubious activities which is no healthy or helpful to the society, but with good knowledge of Bitcoin and it's investment.many people who will be interested and are involved will be able to help themselves and the society, thereby helping to reduce crime in the society. So Bitcoin knowledge and trading helps to reduce crime in the society.

Bitcoin is a means of payment, so it is not logical to assume that crime can be reduced through it. Because it cannot be maintained by the way people use it. If someone commits a crime using its benefits, he will have to take responsibility for it. But if someone can set up a new business using Bitcoin and can be financially successful from there, then at some point crime can be reduced through the workplace. But if we directly talk about reducing crime with Bitcoin, it may not be appropriate.

Well we re all right but I doubt if Bitcoin will help reduce crime, we have seen where an employed person will go into crime because he or she wants to make it in life by all means, some of our political men who earns huge amount of money will still find way to still money from the government that they re serving, we have also seen where public servants who re gainfully employed will still involve in crime, we can go on and on, so we can say that Bitcoin won't prevent anyone who wants to go into crime not to go into crime, it's all about discipline and contentment

As in eeh! Impatience has scattered so many young people's life. Even some leaders are highly impatient people causing orchestration of social discomfort using impatient youths.
Definitely, if you even try and introduce Bitcoin to most impatient people, telling them of how they need to hodl, the response will never be a good one.
Even when employment is made available encouragement to invest into Bitcoin might still get a high rate of no.

To some extent I will support that Bitcoin can reduce crime despite there are many crimes but cyber crime are one of the major crime you found the youths of our society, despite that if they can still source for money to buy job then they can source for money to invest in Bitcoin. Most youths don’t have the knowledge of Bitcoin and how it appreciate with value
