I don’t think gambling has reduced in Nigeria, it’s possible that people are no longer visiting bet shops like they used to, but you can’t be certain that they are betting online which is more convenient.

Only a few persons still pick interest in walking down to a betting shop to book a game and place a bet when they can do that while sitting in their house. Before, I would say online gambling was not as popular as it is today, now that most of our local casinos have also made it necessary to provide a friendly online service. Many have moved to that area, except for a few of those who don't have smartphones and the ones who still choose the old ways, coupled with the ones who can't operate a smartphone.

As for bitcoin reducing crime, I think it’s possible but I doubt it has a significant effect because the people who are benefiting from bitcoin right now are mostly literate and wouldn’t have turned to crime regardless.

Not all literates think alike; we still have those who are well educated but have made peace with crime and give blame to lack of job opportunities. We have a famous local thief in my community who finished with a second-class upper in accounting; a few years back, he changed his line of crime into what is now indirectly turning into a legit hustle in some homes (internet fraud), where he claims to be putting his brain into good use.

I don't think investing in bitcoin Will reduce criminal activities in our society and among youths, the reason is that, bitcoin rewards long time investors, it is not something you invest today and make profit in the next day. Bitcoin is here to solve some challenges which the traditional currency could not solve, such as reducing inflation, decentralization and a store of value. Introducing young and old people to bitcoin investing is not wrong, but when it comes to reducing crime rate, I do not think is possible.
There are things that can actually reduce crime rate in our society, more especially among the youths, such as learning  a skill and offering employment to them, these two things can give money very quickly, and within a short period of time and help to reduce crime rate in our Nigeria society.

It can help though in reducing crimes but not everyone will be into Bitcoin investment, as some people don't have the mind to invest and can't patiently wait, as Bitcoin doesn't guaranteed instant profit, because it takes patience and consistency for one to gain or profit from Bitcoin and there are some persons that lack these features in life and these can people can only be helped, if they are being provided job opportunities or teach them skills, which they can be self employed by it and also in this life, no matter how beneficial Bitcoin will be, crimes will never fade away, it can be increasingly on a daily basis due to how some people don't want to work but always want a short cut of making money, which is not helping or contributing any benefit to the society.

as Bitcoin doesn't guaranteed instant profit,
Yee, Bitcoin is not an investment that brings instant profit to the table thus it required long time in brining something tangible to the person that invested in it, moreover as an investor you need a job that can be sustaining you through your period of investment to get to the time of maturity, however Bitcoin investment can only boast some few folks that have the heart in investing but talking on reducing crime I don't think it's possible.

if they are being provided job opportunities or teach them skills,
Normally an idle man is the devil's workshop, when the youths are not very busy with their time maybe as a result of no job or business it automatically makes them a problem and a criminal in the society, therefore making then to be more busy with either job or empowerment or any other stuff that can legitimately put food on their table can be very helpful and with this you have practically got them engaged and this will reduce crime automatically.
