My deep regret and pain in crypto.

When I knew about cryptocurrency I went for research and I discovered Bitcoin and other coins in the market, I went to study the history of Bitcoin and it's growth and I saw how well it was, so I said to my self if Bitcoin can grow this big then I needed to fine a rising coin that has not grown too big and invest my money on it, thinking it will grow as Bitcoin did, this happened 6 years ago.

So I started investing on one shit coin, when ever I receive my salary I divide it into two one for my up keep and the other for my investment, I did this for 4 years and I was so happy because I had faith it will grow as Bitcoin did, one day I checked my wallet and discovered the coin I was investing on for years has dropped I became so scared and sad I asked questions and did some research and discovered every coin fall sometimes and also rise wow that gave me a relief and hope so I continued my investment and same thing happened again I cried, so I stopped investing and started waiting for the day it will rise so I can take back My money and stop, I waited for a year plus and it came up a little, wow I became more hopeful and I decided to leave it a month later it dropped and never came up again till today that was how I lost all my money.

Then I made a vow never  to involve my self in any other cryptocurrency investment, this year I meet my old time friend that was involve in cryptocurrency investment we talk and along the line I told him my predicament in crypto he laughed and told me same thing happened to him years ago but then he said the only coin he now invest into is Bitcoin then I asked him since Bitcoin has grown this big will it still grow he said yes and that accumulating it little by little will be the best and before I know it I would have accumulated as may as I can.
So I just started reflecting on how much I have wasted investing on a shit coin and how far I would have gone if I was investing on Bitcoin for that number of years, I became so sad and full of regret.

but i have decided to live the past and start a new journey with Bitcoin this year and right now I have accumulated a little using the DCA method Bitcoin will keep growing so don't give up start a new journey today.

Many people have similar experience including myself. I have long made peace with myself and I will advice you to do the same because you cannot change the past, just take the lesson and make the future better. On that note, what are you doing now that you know that Bitcoin is the way forward? Bitcoin is still very fine for investment now, there is a fixed supply and there is halving event that will always create the needed shortage of supply to push demand up. It might look too high for some people but it is not really high, you can buy a fraction per time and continue building from there. So like I said, it is not something to regret but an opportunity to gain experience. So cheer up and continue building.

There're so many of us hear who have regrets on not investing in bitcoin early, simply because we were ignorant of the truth, having regret wouldn't change until we moved on and starting investing because There're still hope for us especially from the fact that bitcoin is still the store of value, which means it will even appreciate more and with time we will still be among the gainers from it.

 Good to see you have taken the step to invest in bitcon now but your story us quite Ironic to me especially from the fact that you have been in this forum since 2022 but were only concerned about bounties and airdrops, if you did take your time to explore the forum and learn things would have been much better though but no big deal just move on with diligence in our investment we  will also have a bitcoin success story to share

Most altcoins ar shitcoins. You can see that none among all the altcoins have gotten to their all-time high. It is even taking ethereum longer time to get to all-time high. If even some altcoins later get to all-time high, most will not.

What I also do not like about altcoins is the volatility. You can be deceived as you see them having 5 to 10 times of their initial prices in short time, but when you invest in them, the price may start decreasing when bitcoin price also decrease but of very little decrease. I mean bitcoin. Altcoins decrease in price is very much high as they are too volatile.

Just gamble with the altcoins with the money that you can lose and not think about at all.

One miscommunication people have about Bitcoin is that "it's too late for them to invest in Bitcoin". They feel they've missed out on the opportunity to make millions out of Bitcoin so there's no need, instead they just look for a shit coin that can go x2000 in months and make them millionaires.
The earliest investors of Bitcoin indeed made the most profit, but it's never too late to start investing in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is speculated to get $100k or more by next year, buying it now might give you an over 30% profit. That's actually how an investment should be.

Except for somebody who really knows what he's doing, I can advise anybody to invest in shitoins. Most of them remain shitcoins. You were new and inexperienced, what you were doing is more of a gamble than investing and that is what a big part of shitcoin investing is, knowing that you're not alone. A lot of people started like that.
Don't regret it too much, it's good you learnt from your mistake, a mistake the majority of us made.

It is quite unfortunate for you not to had consulted after your research about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies having the same volatility potentials.

Bitcoin is actual unique from the rest cryptocurrencies which talking about their volatilities, Bitcoin does not seem so high as other coins which can possibly pump within a moment and and slumps in the next second of time.

I thrilled with your courage of not associating Bitcoin to be  one of the shitcoins you formally invested and lost your money on. Some persons gives up along the way by totally grieving and doubting crypto currencies as a whole without undermining that Bitcoins potential is exemptional.

Alert: There are still some of those shitcoins hypers and speculators who may hide itself unwarrantedly under the umbrella of Bitcoin just to convince you more to invest with them. So, keep watching conciously and do well to consult after your research at where complicated to you on your Bitcoins journey.

In this crypto industry, we all have our own terrible experience of shit coin in one way or the other as a newbie, though their are some people that got the right orientation earlier, and never had a taste of shit coin as most people did, that's why it's very much beneficial for a newbie investors to know about this forum before starting, because with the kind of knowledge endowed in this forum, he or she is more likely to follow the right part, as long as the person in question is adhering to good Bitcoin investment advice on this forum.

On my own part, I started as a forex trader, I payed for a trading course, which I think help me in acquiring some technical trading knowledge which is very much beneficial to me even till today, after some series of losses, I nearly quit, the only thing that kept me from not quitting is when I think of the huge amount of money I paid to learn it, I just don't want that money to be a waste,  so I press on, though I later switch to crypto trading after I saw so many benefits of cryptocurrency, I wasn't a holder to be sincere with you, I only focus on trading because that where I am skilled, it was last year that I came into this forum that I started accumulating Bitcoin, so I never had any terrible losses on shit coin, so in essence is that, it's best you have the right orientation earlier as a newbie, so that you won't even go through such terrible experience that most people goes through.

A lot of persons makes the mistakes of thinking shitcoins to grow well just like Bitcoin. Over the years even though we see some of these altcoins making good moves and hitting the market well, they still can't be trusted. They are altcoins for a reason. Most of these new coins are just flooding the crypto market for one reason which is to make profits and dumps. You as an investor should make proper investments research on which and when to invest on such coins or just rather stay away from shitcoins investments. A lot of investors have lost too much to pump and dump scheme but there's no one above such mistakes. You just have to learn from them.

your not alone on this, alot of people experienced that too, some even but bitcoin around 2011 but lost them all, some even to Ponzi schemes but yours was in an altcoin.

Perhaps you're already on the right track investing gradually into bitcoin, you should continue with that path as it's the best way in the space.

How is it that you were able to invest into a coin for a period of 4 years and yet you've not witnessed the coin being volatile within that space of time? I'm curious to get some details on how the price of the coin was within those period of 4 years wether it's being going up or just remained stagnant at the price you bought it.

shitcoin will always be shitcoin. They might do well after few years but has a greater probability of going too low with time.

that's the more reason why research is necessary before getting started in anything.  Why you refused getting the basic information about a particular thing you're going into most expecially when you're investing into an asset that's as volatile as Bitcoin or any other digital asset, you don't joke about knowing what you're getting yourself into.

Now that you've learnt your lesson and you know better, be wise enough to know how to go about with your DCA and ensure that you're aiming for the long term so you don't become bothered again when there is a possible DIP along the way.

It is one thing to identify your flops, and another thing to take a decision of change. You've done well in reflecting back to your previous mistake, but you should also know that this new journey of accumulation is going to take time before getting results. Your level of patience would have a huge say in how long you can accumulate and hodl. The forum always suggest the DCA method especially for those who gets their income monthly. You should try to set a certain amount which you can maintain and won't disturb your normal expenses.

this happened 6 years ago.  I did this for 4 years

7 years ago I had the opportunity to invest on Bitcoin but I lift it and was investing on one shit coin using the DCA method and I did the investment for 3 years

this has little or nothing to do with your gender to be honest and I doubt anyone has a thing against female being a part of the forum as it's obvious they aren't that much and needs to be part of the Bitcointalk.com community so as to balance things up.

If you had just stated the name of the coin you invested into for those period of four years so people that are interested in learning from your experience could get thier fact right, it would have solved the whole case and no one would judge your past ignorance.

Personally, I haven't stayed in the crypto sector more than a space of one year even though I had known about Bitcoin prior to then but actively, I've only stayed both on the forum and the Bitcoin sector for not more than 10 months but within this space of time, I know about the effect of volatility on ones holding and some other basic things about DCA and best practices to be followed in safeguarding my holding. If I'm to consistently DCA for a period of 4 years into a particular coin iether Bitcoin or any altcoin, I would know almost everything about the coin even before the second year of DCAing.

No one hates newbies and surely, we all grew from being a newbie to whichever great rank that exists on the forum and anyone that speaks bad or degrade a newbie because he is of a higher rank  obviously has a questionable character.

You keep waiting if you don't want to sell at a loss, but mind you, there is no guarantee about that, even though you didn't disclose the name of the coin you are making reference to for us to know and advise you on it. I am very sure that it is not completely safe.
All these money you have been using DCA to invest in altcoin in the past six years, if you have used them in Bitcoin investment, you would have made it by now, because BTC is always is the best to invest in and any other coins depend on its price movement in the market.

Investing in Bitcoin is the best crypto investment you will ever think of because of the security and how safe Bitcoin investment is especially if you keep your Bitcoin safe in your personal wallet you own and control and not in any centralized exchange.

for this. I will blame you for this I won't call it a mistake, it is very good you realize and in time. even though I know that this is a made-up story. because after finishing your research you suppose follow what you learn through your research, you did not suppose invest in another altcoin after knowing that bitcoin is the best. and that 6years you are mentioning by then I think Bitcoin have already grow, even though it haven't reach the stage it is now.

So investing altcoin even by then is also not bad you are the one that choose wrong altcoin and invested in. you would have make a good research before you invested in them, same way you made a research about bitcoin, is not proper investing in a random coin thinking that it will grow because you see bitcoin have already grown to this level.  just know that bitcoin is different from now henceforth.

I am sorry with what happened to you OP but that's how you learn how the crypto market works in a hard way. If you just did DCAd long time before and instead of accumulating that shitcoin, you have been saving Bitcoin, for sure that you're proud of yourself. But still, you should be happy that you are able to share your experience to the others so that they won't do the same mistake as yours. And I thank you for doing that, as an addition to the newbies or any investor that are trying to research for some altcoins. To be honest, it's okay to invest in altcoins as it is your money and no one is going to stop you for doing that. But please DYOR and before you invest there, make sure that you have come prepared and saved BTC first.
