Go to Off Topic, create a new topic called "Join my Call of Duty Team!" and I think you might be surprised at the interest.

That's worth exploring cause it doesn't hurt anyone to add it, but I don't share your enthusiasm that it will have a significant effect on Bitcoin or bitcointalk. Anyone who finds their way here are already interested in Bitcoin and can now explore other sectors of the forum, I guess it can keep the attention span of some users and reduce the ratio of new registrations who never actually use the forum, but that's just an assumption.

To the process of adding a new board, there needs to be sufficient traffic of discussions around that particular subject scattered around different other boards. This shows there is demand and a new board will actually be used and not just go inactive.

As far as the process of adding a new board, does anyone know if there is any evidence that people actually want a videogame related board?

there are lots of redundant sub boards on the forum that were created because they felt it was necessary at the time but later no one really visits them too often. I went through all the response on this thread and I don't quite see anyone that's interested in visiting the gaming board should it be created and this is not because no one playes video game here but because this is a forum that's mainly for crypto and financial thread, it's going to be rear for a board as gaming board to attract people to having meaning discussion in it.

The best thing to do could be to create a thread for it on the gambling board or in off topic and see how it goes with the discussion. I'm a gamer but since I joined the forum I had not considered checking out if we have such a sub board on the forum because that's not my reason for joining the forum.

For this kind of appeal to possibly gain ground, then we should have seen some few personalities that would be in support of your proposal but since we've seen non, it's assumed that this is a one man move and it's just likely far from being taken seriously.

Oh yeah let's add more unnecessary board in this forum.

The forum need to add health board where people need to discuss how to maintain their health while actively posting in this forum since people who have many alt accounts will active in this forum a whole day, as we know incorrect posture could hurt your back and sitting too long is not healthy.

The forum also need to add sex board, probably there's a female Bitcoiner want to fuck with me, who knows right.

Gaming =/= Gambling

It's a shame that I bring this up and the first thing someone says is "Oh yeah gaming? Sure go to the gambling board!"

What the heck?  

I'm talking about a place for us bitcoiners to talk about videogames.  Gaming is a large enough category to have it's own board, so don't say "Oh just use off-topic".  I'm talking about a place to talk about League of Legends, World of Warcraft, CS:GO, Minecraft, Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Maplestory, Roblox, Apex Legends, SMITE, etc... you know, actual games? A place to share screenshots, wins, losses, funny moments, etc.

Bitcoin is money of the internet
Some of the first people to mine bitcoins were gamers on their old-school gaming laptops.

A gaming board on the front page right above or below Off-Topic would make this place ten thousand times better, and more friendly to newer on-boarders.  Who, demographically speaking, will be majorly consisting of 13-21 year old males.  13-21 year old males love to play video games.  Give them a place to talk about it, and perhaps they will find the beauty in bitcoin like we all have.

OP what you're requesting for is cool but come to think of it, video game in a Forum that mostly deal on Bitcoin discussion and some other related topics and you think your request can help improve or make this place more fun? What about the pizza competition, art contest and some other ones I can't remember ain't they too fun enough for the Forum? Well is what you feel is good but mind you that if this video game has been in this Forum I believe you would have said it's not fun that it should be removed or someone would suggest something different to be added to make the Forum more fun, to me I'll say is better without the video game discussion or whatever it's called.

Here, one could argue with age and gender . Everyone loves video games; they have become a part of life. As soon as any game came to the forum with the desire to pay for its advertising in bitcoins, I am sure that there would be many willing to take part. Not a bad idea, OP, but you understand that by the time the admin does something, so much time may pass that video games may become history. The forum is old-fashioned, although an influx of new young blood in the form of young people interested in both gaming and Bitcoin could revitalize it nicely

Yeah the username ie what it get most but the voice can also be part of what the game could provide...
However, that doesn't necessarily  matter since I can decide to use a different gaming username to play,it will be hard to identify a particular voice owner and that's even if someone is willing to use the mic button in the first place, so I can still choose to use my username without using the mic button .
Taking the step of creating a thread on off-topic about it could prove something if OP is trying to prove anything about adopting Gaming on the forum

It a nice idea OP, I believe some  would be against it in the sense that the forum is solely for Bitcoin discussion, same time I believe 80% of our members including myself love gaming, me myself love to game every Saturday especially Call of Duty and Football.
It would also build bonds, more interaction, vibe and fun on the forum so it would not be just a bored, old fashioned forum, this is what breeds more attraction.

First a gaming topic needs to be opened in the off topic section of the forum. Then watch if it'll become a mega thread. Nothing is unable to achieved here in the forum. If people are consistently building the mega thread and it ranks on Google, it'll attract lots of gamers to join the forum because of the conversation happening on the thread. I think that's a better start, then the admin could evaluate if they is enough space left for such boards to be implemented here. Truly, with such threads available the forum could be attracting gaming sites to advertise here. Thereby increasing the diversity of the forum under one umbrella; cryptocurrency. It would not be a hassle for a gaming platform to add cryptocurrency to their payment method for the purchase of weapons, and premium membership.

But the only problem there is that most people, if such a thread is created off-topic won't even see it talk more about getting involved in it. That board is just on the total ignore list for most people in this forum, forgetting that there are fun things that could be discussed over there.

You are right, bro. The board is considered to be filled with completely unserious posts, and they are ignored by many people because signature campaign managers don't accept posts that are in off-topic board. That's the reason why the off-topic board is usually ignored by most users here. 

What I was suggesting is for him to create those threads in the game and rounds board until the forum's admin decides to create a gaming board. 

Before now, I had actually thought about this discussion that was brought here, but I just allowed it to slide because I knew that if people were really interested in it, it would have been introduced long before now.

It will probably fall under Off-Topic, I'm not so sure that there's a lot of gamers in this forum, I think that we should probably focus more on creating something that would benefit the whole of the forum like having a technical board, not the kind where it's just all about bitcoin technicalities but overall a general kind of discussion where we can discuss codes like in Stackoverflow, and if that one does exist, probably improvement on it or something like that, as much as I like gaming and a wish for it, it will probably only get a limited amount of time of activity and then people would probably get bored of it eventually.

OP made a strong argument that I think is valid. Adding a gaming board could be an avenue to attract young people to the forum and some of them might pick interest in Bitcoin. However, the decision to create such a board will solely depend on how the leadership of the forum sees it. For me, there is no harm in adding the board after all there are some local boards that are not functional.

Video games aren't interested to advertise on this forum and that's why there's no board dedicated to video games. It's possible to have a separate board for video games that accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as payment system but the audience to that board isn't much wide on this forum.

Advertisements don't work that way. The forum will have to first show interest in video games which will attract companies to the forum. If video game companies identify that the forum has a high traffic of video gamers, they might decide to advertise their services in the forum.

Considering "not suitable", you can put almost anything in this category. It's a forum and anything can be discussed as long as there is a board for it. Adding a gaming board is not going to make Bitcointalk great again but it will give a scope for gammer to build their own community like we have gambling community, altcoin community.

I am all up for more boards, but wouldn't it make more sense to first see if there is an actual interest in gaming that would warrant a dedicated board? I just went through few pages on the off-topic board and I didn't see a single gaming thread, which makes me think that there's simply not enough gamers here willing to talk about the subject.

I stopped gaming 4-5 years ago (and before that I was pretty hardcore for many years) but if I was still serious about it as I once was, why woulnd't I (or anyone else for that matter) make a thread about it?

That's simply not how things work on the forum, there must be some initial interest first. I mean, OP is true that about gaming and bitcoin being connected (after all, the reason I got into crypto back in 2013 was because I heard that there is money to be made via mining and back then I had serious gaming rig which was good for shitcoin mining) but I don't think that there's enough interest for it. At least not anymore.

Wrong, general nature isn't the reason why off-topic board has low traffic, but it's because most of campaigns didn't count post in off-topic board. If most of campaigns now count post in off-topic board and start to not count post in gambling board, I'm 100% sure the traffic will immediately shift to off-topic board.

This isn't about the number of board, instead the campaign requirements.

You make solid counterarguments.  I agree that some people on here are only here to help their personal life.  I don't think that another board will distract those who are here for serious issues.  It is up to them to click on the board, just as it was up to them to click on bitcointalk.org in the first place.

Gaming, historically, has been painted in such a bad way in terms of being a distraction.  In moderation, just like everything else, it can be a wonderful outlet and a door that opens into social connections if one has trouble making social connections IRL.  I can't be the only one who has like one or two IRL friends and the rest of my friends are online, lol. 🤣

It's not about the problems gaming can solve for people, it's about opening an untapped community.  There are so many bitcoiners who are gamers...and they don't have a board to talk about it except for gambling.  Not good.
