No. Because people using open source, and secure messaging systems don't need cryptos to make it work. And there's no government that can really shut all of them down, so why would something with difficult learning curve, expensive to use and needlessly bulky replace something small and efficient and free for everyone?

Most likely it will be used by someone as someone always does, but it's going to be obsolete tech to most people, at least in the current way that we are using cryptos, that are mostly for speculative trading and holding.

There are many projects out there I don't think we need a Web3 email since we already have anonymous or any email that protects your privacy so I think it will never become a mainstream plus if we have a blockchain for email since it's decentralized anyone have access to the blockchain meaning anyone can possibly decode the blockchain and try to extract email from the blockchain it is more vulnerable to possible attacks compared to use only traditional email which I think much safer.

For widespread adoption no, but if you can develop a web3 project related to Memes maybe it has a chance to reach widespread adoption since memes out there are building a big community I don't know why memes but after I saw their community I see now why every memes on the market have become trending.

Emails can be anonymous if you know how to, absolutely no need for a web3 email to do so. Plus, you can just go to a VM, create a new google account there with a random mail and stuff (they don't ask for KYC afaik) and just use that specific VM to send emails as you wish. VM is needed since afaik google still tracks whatever you do in your browser or something? Not sure, but just to be safe and if you want that complete anonymity.

Plus, there's probably a SaaS solution out there, maybe even open source, so it won't even be a hard thing to do/implement.

Since it is a new concept and is considered a learning curve, I don't think we shoud be thinking about mainstream use of this project already. The concept might sound promising but at the end the experience of the user is the real determination whether it will be preferred by people or not.

Not much as the performance of this token will obviously depend on the performance of the project itself. If there are not much people using the project, which is very likely, no one will also invest in the token.

Regular email works fine. If you need something more secure and private there is ProtonMail or any of the various communication apps with end to end encryption. Not everything needs to have web3 added onto it. This seems kind of like a gimmick and an excuse to create an unnecessary token. There are better alternatives already that don’t have a token attached, so I don’t see Ethermail getting much adoption outside of a very small niche.

I have predicted that if you would mention ethermail just from seeing the title of your thread. It's obvious that if we don't need such service. This service being created as money grabber only. You create a non sense project like this then issue the tokens for your project, you get money at the end of story.

You mentioned above that if ethermail offers anonymous email but how can all the identities from the team be visible? Are not they feel worry to be getting raided by the police?

To be honest, there is no anon email. It's a centralized email and nothing different from gmail or even hotmail. This sounds another crap even though the price surged more than 10x.

Not everything needs to have web3 added onto it.

Even though web 3 is the present technology, it is still very much complicated just like web 3 emails. I doubt many people would choose to use this considering the complexity and security risks it poses.

It is very obvious to be a project aimed to make profit. Maybe if the focus was on real decentralization, I can understand the purpose of such project.

i know that this is a quite innovative project where they use blockchain technology to maximize the experience of using email.  but for me personally, i'm not too interested in using their platform just to send emails, since google offers similar features and their credibility is much better.  especially for security and anonymity in sending messages, email is not the best option for me, since other encrypted messaging channels are much better.

I think  the reward token EMT might be an entry point for users though asides the services they provide. They also record emails on th Blockchain which ensures security etc. The token did some dive after launch, but I think it's retracing back to the upside. Which would signify interests in the project..

It do depend. Many of the large companies are providing feature rich email service with some ads and there are some providing privacy oriented email with limited storage for individual use like protonmail. It's hard for a new mail client to create a profitable business. Mails like google mail and outlook benefits from their integration of services while protonmail that aims to provide paid service to heavy users and businesses while providing it free for individuals, they already are having trouble running their service. It's too early to claim what the future of Ethermail would be but mailing is already a small niche considering the wide spread of chat based social media like whatsapp and telegram.

As far as I am concerned emails are working very well with blockchain technology, a great and easy solution for hunters. I don't see much need for Web3 here. Every day millions of web pages are visited to find actionable business data Like search engines, they continuously index the entire web and organize data that no other database contains. Haven't really grasped the concept of ethermail, probably due to the email services I use are just fine. But I'm interested in the token. I use the platform

I've seen that project and it seems that it going to be the one that's going to be targeted by airdroppers. Those that are into airdrops have got everything on their list coming from notcoin, hamster and now that ethermail. However, if it's about the decentralized or web3 email, I think that it's better if there's a central server that's working or entity for it that keeps everything and maintaining the entire network of it.

Since we are talking about decentralized and encrypted exchange of information between parties, I can tell these.are the kinds of protocols which won't be adopted by any big company like Google, Apple, Microsoft or Amazon. Traditionally, mainstream market is aimed to give the end user as much comfort and ease of use as possible, in exchange of their privacy and personal data.
If you put out a project like this one, which is requires for one to learn how to correctly manage cryptographic keys in order to send information, then I am afraid this is something which would take a lot of polish and some important partnerships for it to reach massively the average email user.

As others have already said, nowadays people is very reluctant to get out their comfort zone to try new things, these new projects to succeed massively . it would require them to be as easy to use as the centralized competition.
