Casino/gambling center near an institution of learning?

Do you think having a casino or any gambling center close to an institution of learning, will influence the students somehow or should I say be a positive or negative reinforcement on them, in anyway?

Thoughts?

It is inconsequential if casino or gambling house is located close to institution of learning especially tertiary institutions because they have all student to supposedly be 18 and above. It is institution for higher learning and therefore saddled with exposure too and right to make a choice not out of their own volition. Moreover, those students there are not kids, they have android phones and can access whatever casino they want online, so bringing it close to them doesn't matter because they have choice to make as adults. Whether bringing it closer or farther, they are adults with choice to make in whatever they want.

Actually I don't see anything wrong with seeing a casino or gambling shop being spotted closer to an institution of learning. We all should know what we want see anybody that is in an institution is supposed to be an adult that can make decisions for themselves. Even though a casino is never available, that does not mean that people or students are not going to look for any way possible to gamble and see if they could be making money for themselves. This is why an adult can always make decisions for themselves and does not need an adviser on what to do.

I have even seen beer drinking bars night clubs that are close to learning center. And as you said, each student knows why they are in school. When I was in school, I didn't attend any of those things plus gambling. And even if I count the time I visited gambling centers it would be very few occasions.

And even though the gambling centers are not close to the learning environment those serious gamblers would still go there and play games. And when it is far they would prefer it because nobody would see them because it is far. But there is disadvantages and advantages of being far and close to the school. You attend class on time if it is close or you attend class late if it is far.

It's not always a bad thing if you drink alcohol in moderation, and can actually help socially.

Maybe it's the same with gambling, although most gamblers I've seen are usually by themselves spending a lot of money. It's only a few that go in groups to socialize, maybe because it's too expensive to keep doing it.

At the end of the day it is all about personal responsibility.

Sure, it is not very easy to simply live a nice life while gambling all your money away. But no one is forcing anyone to do that.

It's all just suggestions, same as marketing in a way. Basically trying to sell is just persuading people, same with gambling.

I think a casino or gambling center should have a well planned out location to run their business, it has been too long ago that I went through a thread of saying that a gambling shop he saw was close to a bank, this isn't really ethical. A gambling centre is filled with a lot of people, some go there under the influence of alcohol or intoxicated by hard drugs, when violence breaks out this might affect the students that are learning. This can also be a bad influence to the students and they might get tempted to try out what they are seeing others doing in those gambling centers on a daily basis.

Even if a bank chooses to stay close to a bank, it is not a bad thing or something new anymore because both the banks and the casinos are doing their businesses, it is only when the gambler is not disciplined that he or she will go to the bank and withdraw money then continue gambling in the casino shop again. However, these days online casinos is gas more populations than offline casinos, someone like me will not choose to go to a casino shop to play casino games while I have my smartphone or laptop that I can use to gamble at my own comfort. Student can gamble only when they are up to the age for gambling.

Totally depends on this situation because if the government allowed on giving out that license or permission that they could operate into that vicinity then there's nothing we can do specially if its really that near into these institutions or any other establishments but since we are talking about schools then it will really be something that will be influencial but of course it will really be that on personal approach because no matter how far or near those gambling platforms or casinos is place if a certain individual does have that interest on playing gambling then they would really be that going into such place. For those countries who do really give out prioritize about gambling casinos or places to operate despite of those location and dont make out some restriction then they do give out that importance about gambling revenue but actually they could be able to make out those kind of control on which they should be strict on not to let those minors do get inside. In some approach like molding up that kind of curiosity on which it could possibly bring or happen then it will really be having that tendency for it to have such situation because once that curiosity towards gambling occurs or mold then its likely these students or youth will be having that tendency or likely they will be testing it out and find if its interesting to deal up with it or not. As a parent if you do really know that your child is having that school and near with those gambling places then it will really be our responsibility on advising them or telling about those stuffs and telling that they should be avoiding on dealing up with gambling or any correlated things towards it.
