Everything was fine but suddenly the price of fuel oil has gone up and we are seeing its impact in every sector. All of a sudden the price of fuel oil has increased so much that the industrial factories have increased the prices of their products as a result of which the products which were bought with relatively less money are now being bought with relatively more money. The price of fuel has gone up all over the world so I think every country in the world now costs a lot more. People always complain that even though the prices of daily necessities have doubled, the income of people has not increased. That is, an employee still gets the same amount of salary that he used to get, but he only has to buy different products with more money.

Hi Guys,

I'm curious to know if there is a cost of living crisis in your country and if you are feeling the effects of rising goods and services.

I'm Australian, and the inflation rate in 2023 was over 4%.

I have noticed significant increases for everyday essentials like food, petrol and utilities.

The cost of petrol is around $2.10AUD per litre, which is insane.

Let's hope things improve in the near future because the current state of things is unsustainable.
The cost of living is continuously being raised nowadays as the world situations and political disorders have make it more volatile. It is almost impossible for a middle class man to survive in these kind of situations where things are getting costly and the value of their currency are decreasing day by day.

The governments have to make sure that the living cost and taxes should be balanced and people should be given relief.

Inflation is general. It’s in every country on earth. Unless the country doesn’t use fiat (which isn’t possible because what then are you using as legal tender). In the next couple of years, the cost of petrol would likely be more than that. And even if it isn’t, other items like food items, or clothes would cost more. How you’d know this is when you look back to how it used to be, you can see the trend of inflation.
Before, things used to increase on either annual basis, two years or more. But now, things are increasing like hourly not even monthly. something that you just purchased few hours ago, going back again like in the evening, you will see that they will tell you another price that's more than before. The problems that most countries are facing today, are caused by the government. Removal of fuel subsidy, unification of foreign exchange and leveling of taxes on companies and industries have made things difficult for people. In my society today, people are suffering. their income are not up to their expenditures. Still things are going up.

Certainly, this rise in prices is a worldwide phenomenon; however, some countries have it way worse than others, and Greece is certainly one of them.

Of course, inflation in each country will be different and price fluctuations will also depend on each item. In my country, there are many farms that raise cattle and poultry and specialize in exporting to neighboring countries. For example, the price of chicken in the area where I live is only about 3 USD per kg, or vegetables and fruits are very cheap because we can even grow them ourselves for better quality. It can be said that my country is an agricultural country and I live in the countryside, so I can hardly see the effects of inflation on food products.

But we are having to spend more money on electronic devices, technology or gas and electricity prices have increased a lot for many reasons from the Government. I've even seen them go higher and higher each year and have never dropped back to the same price.

Yes, I feel that too and most people definitely feel it too. I know this problem is closely related to inflation, but I also think that this problem occurs because the human population continues to increase, resulting in increasingly tight competition for money. my strategy is to look for additional income such as joining airdrops and bounties.
Don't just focus on airdrops and bounties, mate, even though this can also bring in additional income which can help some people with these results when facing inflation. But try to think about opening a business that can also generate income actively so that we are not so affected by the current inflationary conditions. Because everyone needs to see more promising business opportunities for their future, even though airdrops and bounties can also be continued as usual because these two things will never interfere with the business that we will open later.

All of us suffered the impact of market inflation. The cost of living now is quite expensive than 10 years ago and not to wonder for me because this is certainly going to happen even though we don't like it. It is a fact that having a single source of income is likely not enough for now to say that we are okay and live comfortably.

Everything is rising and worsening, especially when is led by corrupt government officials. This is why we don't have to stay cool and lazy but rather work hard because the coming years are an even more struggling situation than what we have today. Seeking additional sources of income is perhaps necessary to survive the unstoppable inflation strike.

True, it is not wrong to get involved in bounties or airdrops because after all it can give someone money, but what we must understand is that these two things have no guarantee to always produce or mean only side jobs that are for profit without being based on any certainty in the sense that don't put too high hopes on these two things, especially if we are in an economic crisis due to inflation, and as you said that it is better for us to look for additional opportunities or create our own opportunities with a more promising level of certainty whether it is opening a small business or adding a part-time job if it does not interfere with the time for your main job. The point is to do anything that can be used as a second escape to help support the cost of our needs when inflation occurs. I also play airdrops but I don't really prioritize most of my time on it and I also don't have too high expectations.

The cost of petrol is around $2.10AUD per litre, which is insane.

Let's hope things improve in the near future because the current state of things is unsustainable.

I’m living in a 3rd world country with a low minimum wage rate yet our petrol cost is around 1.5$ per liter which is insane amount to spend as a minimum wage eaener.

There’s a lot of my fellow countryman is migrating on your country(Australia) and experience a much decent life compared when they are here working since salary rate on your country is good compared to 3rd world country like mine.

Cost living here is decent yet people prefer to migrate for a better salary rate.

Hi Guys,

I'm curious to know if there is a cost of living crisis in your country and if you are feeling the effects of rising goods and services.

since my days as a little boy, I haven't witnessed the increase in the cost of living as what's now the case. Almost all the common and uncommon commodities have triple there prices and it's now too deficult to live well with a single stream of income. Local manufacturing industries have almost close down and are not functioning, it's been ages since we've seen new jobs being created by the government and the individual that are already employed aren't seeing there salaries on time and even when they get paid, the amount isn't enough to battle the rate of inflation that has become a serious problem in the land.

It's so bad that the global economy is getting from bad to worse almost every year and these are all product of failed leaders that aren't setting out the proper systems on ground that will aid the rate of employability of youths.

The whole world definitely feels the impact of inflation in every country, this makes everyone increasingly suffocated in meeting their daily needs. Agree with what you say in this case, in cases like this we must be prepared to face this kind of situation which occurs every year in our country and what everyone must do in facing this situation is we must create new foundations or skills in various kind of for our new income.

You have inflation rate of 4% and you are complaining, what do you have to say about countries that has theirs over 10-40% and they don't have anything to run down to, no help from the same government that has made life unbearable for the people with zero subsidy to no subsidy to basic amenities and yet you are complaining. I know it's normal to want a good life but there are places with even worst inflation rate than your country and the price of petrol is expensive more than your country.

For example, I want to use Nigeria to explain the hardship we are facing here, right now the inflation rate was said to be 33.9%, that's worst than anything we have ever experienced since this country has ever seen, the new government just removed fuel subsidy which means the fuel we are buying cheaper is now almost 5 times the original price and for that, everything that involves fuel has increased price majorly the cost of transporting food from place to place, these is just minor of the many problems we have in this country, so I think you are enjoying compare to some countries.

Here in my country we have a slight increase of 1% this month which results in overall inflation of 3.9% but it is still ideal destination for retired foreigners who wants to settle down because conversion rate of dollar in here is quite high.
3.9% looks small, no wonder why many people/foreigner wants to go there but there might be another reason too like there is a special place there or tourist attraction, though I think each country do also has it. Each is still unique and maybe they are done traveling with the other and not yet in your country.

Quote
our local currency is depreciating it's value against the dollar so yeah that is why foreigners love to visit my country. 😅✌️
It was like a blessing in disguise then? Cheesy, but that should make your economy better now, which can also result for your local currency to appreciate or recover and rise, same goes to the wages being offered there by many companies. I'm not only sure if the price of the goods will get lowered too but I think they will rise, however it's not really a big deal, since we can still afford them.

I live in a third world country and the price of petrol products and other commodities is 3x that of last year, and I don't think that price will come down anytime soon. The cost of living is fucking expensive now.

The problem with third-world countries is that the cost of living never improves, it just keeps getting worse. This is because inflation is always on the rise. The inflation is so high to an extent that no matter how much the average person makes, their money won't be able to afford basic things in the country because everything would be so expensive.
Increasing the minimum wage in a country like that would give workers more money for sure, but with the time that money would become worthless because when there is more money, the inflation rate would increase thereby causing prices to increase with it, so the money workers have won't be worth much anymore and so the circle continues till the currency of that country would lose so much value.

To battle this problem, the country needs to look for ways to cut down the cost of production and encourage small-scale businesses. This would promote competition. When there is so much production at lower cost in the country, import would be reduced and that would reduce the prices of goods.
There are ways to fight a failing economy, but the government and its agencies need to put greed and selfishness aside and be ready to put their head together and do the job.

Only the people of our country can tell and understand better how the people of my country are passing their days to meet their essential needs. Despite being a developing country, there has been considerable improvement in infrastructure in our country, but the people of our country may not be able to fully enjoy these improvements. Big projects are being launched due to which the govrnment has increased the amount of VAT on every item several times. The new budget that has been prepared for our country has increased the price of almost every item.

Our Bangladesh is a riverine country, yet we have to spend half a dollar to buy a liter of water in this country. Those who have big businesses or who work in big positions in big organizations may accept things but those who make such budgets should come and make budgets in line with those people who struggle to raise a handful of other things.

Yes, I feel that too and most people definitely feel it too. I know this problem is closely related to inflation, but I also think that this problem occurs because the human population continues to increase, resulting in increasingly tight competition for money. my strategy is to look for additional income such as joining airdrops and bounties.
It seems that every year is full of uncertainty. Whether you've got a regular job, you're not going to be exempted with all of these things. There are many regular workers that keeps on finding another source of income which likely 2nd or 3rd jobs because they can't deal with the continuous rise of cost of things. In my country, before it was not that expensive at all and now everything has became as if you're also living in a country that has a high cost of living.

So, most countries nowadays and its people needs to accept the truth that there's no one that skipping all of these high rates of inflation except the real rich. The rich that are said to be holding the most of world's wealth and are the ones that are controlling the banking sector and economy of each country. They don't mind these inflations as they're all set for life while a pleb like me, I have to deal with these crazy situations of my life that I need to do nonstop work and do the same as what others are doing in finding other sources of income.

Going over this thread and reading the responses, one thing is clear: most countries right now are currently going through inflation and it's biting real hard. In my country, cost of living over the last decade has gone over 4x what it used to be. I used to think we had it worse but now, I can confirm that other countries have it as bad as we do. Does anyone know why inflation is eating away most of the world's economy? I know Bitcoin and crypto played a role but that's not the full story.

Let's say that the cost of living in a country where I'm in is that, one stable job is not enough especially if you are only earning the minimum wage or you are a minimum wage earner, thank fully I choose the field where the salary is quite high or to be exact in IT field, and right now with continuous increase of inflation rate minimum wage is not enough especially for those who has a family already that's why many people are only living with minimum they can't even enjoy the life because all things are costly. Well we can't control the flow of the economy so the only thing we could do is that we should find our way in order to earn extra, I mean if you want to have a good life where you can buy or get the things you want and need then find your way in order to earn more money if you will settle for less then expect that you will only have a hard time.

Inflation is a bastard and that is the more reason why Bitcoin is gonna put an end to inflation and financial slavery as almost every country one way or the other is experiencing inflation as the world is going towards economic crisis and recession however, in my country last year December 2023, the inflation rate was 28.92% as against the inflation rate in December 2022 which was 21.34% that is to show that it increased by 7.58% in December 2023 while in April 2024, the inflation rate rose to 33.69% which means that the inflation rate from December 2023 to April 2024 rose by 4.77% high. This is to show that instead of the inflation rate to reduce it's still increasing thereby making the cost of goods and services high and making livelihood difficult for the common man and woman and this inflation is suffered by many even when high percentage of people in the country doesn't have a job or are on low income salary range.

In recent years, inflation have been on the increase and a major setback to the development of the country and it tends to make life even more difficult as an average family can hardly afford three square meal in a day which also means that the inflation rate of the country has made many suffer abject poverty and unable to afford daily needs. When we talk about building materials or the cost of accommodations in the country, the cost of petroleum products, the cost of transportation and all that almost everything is on the increase.

Yes, inflation is terrible and it is slowly killing us, but I wonder how will bitcoin end inflation? Inflation is not only the result of the Government printing money in an uncontrolled way, but inflation is also the result of an imbalance in supply and demand, the gap between supply and demand is too large. And there are thousands of causes of supply and demand imbalance, the Covid pandemic is also one of the causes.

Bitcoin has potential and has many benefits but to say it will solve inflation or poverty by adopting bitcoin, which is an exaggeration. We need more than one solution and it is not as easy as we think, just the government stops printing money and inflation will disappear.

Yes Bitcoin can put an end to inflation if we continue to accumulate and HODL and it's adoption continues to increase such that the 21 million Bitcoin is totally mined because after that time it will become a long term asset and may likely become a stable coin since there will be no supply anymore except if the need arise. However, even if the government stops printing money it can't completely end inflation because inflation is driven by a lot of factors.

Kinda fucked but if you're an ex-pat that lived in the Philippines with savings back from your homeland you're pretty much set. We got a lot of foreigners here thinking they hit the jackpot (which they did i mean by a long shot) considering from where they live shit is 5-10x more expensive than in the Philippines, if that is your case everything is pretty much cheap and you'll enjoy living here. For most of us though, including those within the poverty line it couldn't be any worse. Shitty living conditions, lack of opportunities to access education in poverty-stricken/maginalized areas of the country, and so much more ugly shit.

Gas is also becoming even more expensive here, we're slowly hitting the 2 dollar mark, which is still cheap I guess for ex-pats but is definitely not the case for Filipinos.

So yeah, Philippines is slowly becoming a xeno-centric country while not giving a single flying fuck about its home-grown citizens.

This isnt really just that limited on Philippines alone but also in other developing or 3rd world countries on which into those foreigners would really be tending to settle down on such country and just like on what you have said that if then did have that kind of huge savings or passive income that they do have on their country which the value of their currency is way more higher or simply that huge then they could really be able to have that good life into these 3rd world countries. Just like on what you had elaborated on which into the lives into those locals specially on poverty status or condition then each year would really be that a huge pain in the ass on which if this particular year is hard, then it gets harder into the next one and so on. Why? due to that lack of opportunity, salary increase, shit inflation and other stuffs that in correlated with shit economic conditions on which it is really that making things even more harder. This is why if you are poor then it would be best that you should really be finding up a solution on how you do make yourself
that be able to survive on this shit condition.
