Can You Memorize Your Recovery Phrase?

I personally think it is a good idea to memorize ones recovery phrase, but it is supposed to be seen as a backup way to recover ones funds in the case the seed guess lost and one does not where it is, for example. Human memory is fragile,.so ones brain is not suitable to store information in the long term, specially wallets, it can be easily translated to financial losses.

A better practice would be not completely rely on paper, but rather get some metal plate to engrave the seed on, then memorize it and also set a passphrase. Once the seed has been successfully memorized, then store the metal plate in a safe location, where online you could find it easily.

I do not have the numbers at hand right now, but I am sure I have read about many people losing thousands of Bitcoins to their bad memory. So do not do it that way

Memorizing 12 words isn't that hard, as long as you spend time to memorize it, you will.

However, memorizing seed phrase should be "one" of many ways to recover your coins, which mean you should do any other backup ways. If you only relying on your brain, then you're high likely will lost access to your coins.

No one know what happen to you in the future, so prepare the worst.

Nothing wrong with memorizing but but even you look at our nature as humans we can forget and if the seed phrase is not complete their is no way you will be able to make withdrawal from your wallets that is to show how important all the seed phrase are complete. Instead of memorizing why not look for other ways to store your seed phrase and safe your self the stress. With the kind of challenges we are facing you can easily forget no matter how good you are, I don’t know for others but as for me I don’t see as an option for me if I want to store my seed phrase. Their thing to just avoid when you want to ensure the safety of your assets. Anything memorizing I don’t like it.

Memorizing them is not bad, then just have a backup of them somewhere, secrets have been kept since millennia, so what is the problem for 12 words, or a private key, this topic should be considered irrelevant, I think it is a matrix of opinion that It is generated to sell HW.  ; )

Just remembered that I have written the recovery seed phrase of my Electrum on a piece of paper somewhere in my place. I'm wondering what could go wrong since my place isn't too secured.  How about trying to memorize it? Is it possible?

there is nothing wrong with trying to memorize your seed phrase as an additional safety measures should for any reason you loose track of the physical one you've written down somewhere, the only issue is when you become careless with the copy you've written down all because you've cramed your seedphase. As a little boy from high school, I have cramed way more than the total number of words in my seed phrase while preparing for an exams and it's been more than 5 years along the line and i haven't forgotten it but that's never enough reason to trust my memory with such a delicate information.

The smartest brain has an high possibility of forgetting things faster than what's written down via a pencil. Maybe your consideration could be that you will need to crame it so if you need to take out a portion of your holding when you're far away from him and needs an urgent fund to use in sorting out yourself you could easily reach out to your funds but that's even another disadvantage that might cause you to always lay hands on your holding. At some point and in some way, it's best to keep your seed phrase in a place you wouldn't always have access to at will most expecially if you're working on building a strong portfolio with time.
