I came across this news some days back and I began to wonder whether overpopulation is part of the major problems that we're facing today in the world. Pope Francis and Bill Clinton, are both prominent people in the world, the Pope is a respected religious leader and head of the Catholic church, while Bill Clinton, is a renowned politician and former president of America. They're both influencial people and what they say matters in the world's religious, politics and economics. So if what they're advocating for comes to reality, will the world be better for it?

But I believe that developed countries don't have the problems of overpopulation, in fact they're accepting immigrants into their countries to boost their workforces. I don't think that it's right to focus on reducing the population of the world, instead couples should be advised to give birth to the number of children that they can carter for.
Reducing the human population can degenerate to wiping out people who are seen as undesirables and mass genocide through technology. It can lead to increased abortion rate and women taking contraceptive pills, and this is something that the Catholic church preaches against. The leaders of the world should focus on green planet, advance technology to grow more food, not reducing the human race. Everybody born into this world has a right to live.
