Hi guys i open this thread to talk about the america cup to be played in the next days in USA.

Just 11 people so far and what about any sponsorship or we are just playing for fun here and take each other money  with just 2-3 prize spots.I don't really care as long as is fun and judging by the format it surely looks like that,there are quite some strong teams in Latin America and the only problem I see is they are playing in the same time as Euro 2024 yet they are on a totally different time zone so in the weekend when I don't have to go to work I will make sure to watch some games,to bad that Argentina is tomorrow at 2 AM in my time zone and the day after I have to go at work so not much I can stay up and wait for that game.They are the World Champions and this means that they are also heavy favorites to win this tournament too.

There are no excuses for any of the "teams" to come first given the number of participants.  

But, I wish it was that easy, there is quite a level here, it is a group that knows what they are doing, and that makes it more difficult, so a first place in this pool is pretty cool, seeing the "Teams" that participate.

We are now 14 people one more and we reach the 15 milestone.


Today we start this journey with the opening in hands of Argentina against Canada.

I think it can be a very good match to see, here in Argentina is a holiday day for being "the day of the flag". So we can expect full support from here and the 90% of the country seeing the game with asado.

I'm going to work hard for at least 3rd place 
I'll try to watch as many Copa America games as possible and only watch the best ones from Euro 24 hehehe

Do we know how much are rewards for winner and other places in this pool?

I am not an expert in Copa America and I first thought this was another competition better know Copa Sudamericana, but than I saw Canada

But I remember coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo and Emerson Leão who had very bad results and their stubbornness really hurt the Brazilian team

I may be biased but Firminho carried Brazil a bit too during early qualifiers when things weren't certain, only to not feature once the finals arrived (last World Cup I mean). And there was the last 2019 Copa too. Apart from Neymar and one or two others, he actually had the best goal contribution per minute in that period and still others below him got selected (I don't remember the precise stats but I remember making the argument). Just because he didn't turn on the flair needlessly, he paid for it. Don't blame him, Tite used him weirdly.

I don't know what's going on now with the team but something's really not right there. So much talent but so few of them actually stepping up.

I believed in Argentina winning 3x0 and I almost got it right, at least I got 1.5 points 

There will be 32 games in total, I can't afford to lose too many points, but I believe that the Copa America has more surprises than the Euro, so I think we're all going to miss some games
Today's match, for example, is more difficult to predict, Chile vs Peru
Venezuela vs Ecuador will also be difficult to predict as both teams are at the same level in the South American Qualifiers

Hi guys! Thanks for your words.

About the prize, we have a little pot comapred with what we usually have, so we are not gonna pay so much position like we already know.

We have in total 7mbtc from fees + 1mbtc gifted by buwaytress, that give us 8 mbtc of prize im gonna add 1mbtc to the pot so we can reach 9 mbtc.

I was thinking on this split:

1º = 5mbtc
2º = 3mbtc
3º = 1mbtc

Or maybe a more agresive one.

1º = 7mbtc
2º = 2mbtc

For which one do you vote?. Im also open for sugestions. Let us know here on the thread your ideas.

About Argentina game of yesterday...... i never see a team of this super high level miss so many chances, Argentina can score 5/6 goals easily yesterday. Messi also was in one of his worst nights in definition.

I think that having three winners is better so I vote for that.
1 mbtc prize is not a lot for third place, but they will have a chance to return what they sent as entry fee and earn a little more.

Well i think Canada is no longer a "weak team" for me right now they are the second team in Concacaf just above this weak Mexico (first one is USA), like USA Canada is having a lot of player playing abroad at very high level and also now they have a very good coach like Jesse Marsch.

BTW, have question for South Americans - why your leagues like Brazil Serie A, Uruguay or MLS continue to play during Copa America, why there is no international break?

About yesterday game, i dont see it, but i was confident with the draw, both teams are in a reconstruction process, surely Gareca can do Chile a good team, but he need some time to do that.

I had it 0-0 and then changed to 0-2 as I thought Chile to be a bit superior as a team and also their head to head games were heavily in favor of Chile,lately in these last years is not that Peru has done something to be remembered for while Chile has done better things and even in World Cup presence Chile has been the better team yet I am not surprised as if we see in the Euro tournament draws are quite common in such competitions and I don't see that as a surprise result.

The good thing is that now we are going to have 2 games per day or more and that is great in order to see the difference between the players here,I am not worried at all as we have no sponsorship so I am playing worry free and just having fun in this pool,if I happen to end in the top positions great,if not still great  .
