Faucets and airdrops were made just to spread the coin and raise awareness of its existence; they have no use nowadays.

The last good airdrop was HAM, and this airdrop destroyed the price of the coin before dropping due to the huge amount of participants, 130+ million and on average each one was entitled to 2.5 million coin. You can see the end of this era when you look at all the faucets that have turned into casinos as there no use for advertisement for something that is already known.

Starting from 2025, the only way to get crypto will be by buying it. Airdrops and faucets will be for coins that won't reach $1 even in a million year, so don't put any hope in free crypto again. There are casinos that give free crypto every hour, but your chances of getting more than $0.001 are 1 in 100,000 so forget it.

Airdrop projects are 50/50 between assurance disappoinments and I don't think if there's worth a credibility for false hope as you said Op because such time wasted of false hopes ca be utilized to achieve valuable results if spent on the a legitimate activity.

I remember getting lots of free money via airdrops during the 2017/18 blocksize war. I claimed so much momey via the airdropped BCH, BTG plus various smaller shitforks like Bitcoin Diamond. I don’t think there will be another time like that again but if there is, I’m here to claim the free money.

The retrospective airdrop trend that started with these forks is still continuing and there have been plenty significant airdrops since then, albeit on different chains than Bitcoin so you might not be aware of it.

Crypto has a pattern in everything they do in it. Just know that in every trend, there is going to be a good one and there is going to be some bad ones, no doubt about that one. During ICO times, there are some projects that came through that process that are considered the best today and there plenty of them that died during that time. The same is for airdrop. We have the good ones which are rare and the rest are just time wasting and not worth the effort.

In the next phase of airdrop, there is going to be more of it but it in the next, it's not going to be the same like this one just like this one is not the same like the old ones. With time, there is going to be more evolution of aidrops and free things to attract new people in crypto and have more trust in crypto once again.

the free money now coming from the VCs project with their tokenomic of allocating certain percentage to community and early contributors that help build the ecosystem, sounds fair enough to me tbh.

I think the hard condition is to filter random people from just doing the bare minimum to qualify and dilute the reward, but yeah, it's a lot more complicated than back then and sometime the reward is disappointing despite the really hard requirement to be eligible.

Airdrops are over saturated, and projects ask more than doing bare minimum these days, and yet airdrop farmers do everything possible in their imagination on what could be the possible eligibility criteria and farm those airdrops.

There are a lot of challenges that need to be faced, and that's normal, even so, everything needs to be tried to get free money, what's more interesting than making money without investment, this is one of the good marketing strategies, for this crypto industry at least you need a clearer understanding of this airdrop, and by getting a value that doesn't match what you think and it becomes a heavy burden, and makes people always hope to get their luck back.

Agreed, airdrops can be mixed bags, some offer decent rewards while others lead to disappointment to many participants, time, efforts and money spent on farming airdrops goes in vein. I am still optimistic that some upcoming airdrops specially Eigen layer, Linea and some being farmed on telegram channel can potentially distribute substantial reward.

In summary, we need to be more selective while choosing airdrop projects to farm and conduct through research and due diligence before putting in efforts is essential to maximizing returns.

Two months ago, I met a young man in a physical casino, and he was discussing with his friend how he was going to use the money he would make from some of his telegram airdrop to rent a house and set up his business. He showed him about five telegram airdrops that he was farming. He was so convinced that he would make money from them, and he even started searching for a house to rent. I simply told him to go and seek for job instead of putting all his hope on these airdrops. I informed him that these airdrops should just be seen as an uncertain additional source of income. I saw him yesterday, and he is still living in his elder brother's house. He told me how frustrated and disappointed he was because, most of all, the airdrops he had farmed were worthless. We can do our research to determine the authenticity of these airdrops, but we should have at the back of our mind that there is a 50/50 chance of success.

The era for the airdrop is still happening, and i don't even see the point to call that if airdrop's era is coming to its end. Hundreds of projects regularly launched their airdrop through automation platforms like Zealy or Galxe. But, many comments said the era for the EZ airdrop had ended.
People can't accept that they should try harder to get airdrops. Many projects are still running various airdrops.

It's not right to call the era for airdrop's end now.

Airdrop era is definitely over (likewise what we have seen on 2017 with dozen announced daily).

I think it's still possible that profitable airdrops will come out (at least 1000 dollars as value). But they will be really rare and above all DIFFICULT to identify... I will not be focused too much on it since there are many other activities that can be easily followed with btc/crypto in general...

BTW an airdrop of 50K USD sounds like as a scam since no one can garantuee such high values always pay attention to such claims.

Honestly 2021 had that period too, either from airdrops, or from bounties or from whatever elses, and that means that we are going to end up with something much larger with that type of idea. We are going to see this growing to be a much bigger situation so it is not going to be that easy to handle any of this, hence we need to be careful about it. We are going to do something much better with time, so it is going to be not easy to handle.

What we are going to do right now is just realize that next up we are going to see something much better with time, in 2025 or so I am expecting airdrops to be actually profitable, not all of them but we will hear a lot more of these stuff becoming more important and more profitable as well.

Lol $50,000 is nothing if you were around in the era of ICO. Airdrops were so rewarding, even the ones that were of meaningless tokens. I remember getting an airdrop of some random token and even forgot about selling off the coins, the token value would then go up to around $4k.

So yes, just like we saw faucets die out, airdrops will also become completely meaningless and a waste of time in the near future. In fact, most of them are already useless.

During the ICO era way back in 2016–2017, it can really be said that those times were good; even with the airdrops back then, which were simple, you would get immediate rewards just for signing up, and with ICOs, the earnings were really big.

Valuating airdrop value (or bounty) on some estimation of a market price is just misleading in purpose, which automatically labels it as a scam in my book.
Or saying that they are giving up that in dollars (or even fraction of that) is such an obvious sign of scam. That wouldn't even make any kind of logical sense so debunking it wouldn't be worth the effort.

But i have been here quite a while and quitting crypto for a taco stand is setting a bar really low. I mean it's admirable job and depending where you live, it can be a solid choice. And if you would get that with one airdrop, i would say cash out and do what your heart wants. But even if you started the taco truck business, you might want to put some money to crypto as a side hustle. Because if you think $50k is a quitting money to you, you are underestimating how much potential more money there's to be made with crypto.

Lol, $50,000 right now is least reward for what the new airdrops tokens flowing in the market are promising as rewards, we are talking millions in rewards only that 98% of them are scam they fail to fulfill in their promise.  What I feel is that those airdrop projects that promises less reward tokens have the high tendency to pay and this is true because a few airdrops projects I have participated none of them with bogus rewards delivered on it. It's either they pull up some conditions to deny many participants legibility and it's very frustrating.

That is the prize pool of a very small airdrop even in this market state, I have seen way more significant airdrops and the prizes surpassed millions of dollars. Some airdrops or people are marketing for their projects in this bearish market to get more participants and gain their trust for a better investment size, which is something I cannot judge or say it won’t work. However, it seems a very risky thing to do which is launching in a bearish market.
Airdrops lately became something very trendy once again, and due to the competition between several projects the pools or tokenomics of it is getting bigger and focusing on the airdrop, that’s why it is normal to find significant Airdrops in this market state.
