Bit get offered me 1000 USDT to claim as a reward for being a new user. Is it really free? Will I have to pay or return it later? And how much is 1 USD if you exchange it for real USD?

They're probably real but from my understanding (assuming this is the same reward you got)[1]. This is not something you will be able to withdraw. IT's just a reward applied to the fees in your spot trading. So if you put an order, and the fee is 2$ for example, part of that fee will be deducted from that reward you received first. I don't use this exchange, but it is not possible for an exchange to offer you $1000, just because you opened an account on the exchange, are you sure you understood the offer correctly and i hope you are in the legitimate website. And how much is 1 USD if you exchange it for real USD?
Usdt is pegged 1:1 with the U.S dollar, it is a stablecoin.

1,000 free USDT sounds too good to be true, right? There's usually a catch with these kinds of offers. The terms of the promotion should normally explain all the details. Do you have a link to the full terms and conditions they gave you so we can take a look? And how much is 1 USD if you exchange it for real USD?

You are lucky if they offer $1000 USDT but in my experience trading on Bitget I only got rewarded $10 USDT and $15 this is on the first verification, deposit, and trading with futures. Based on Bitget after you did the tasks in 7 days of this $1000usdt welcome gift you will receive a 4 coupon but according to other people, it's just a trading fee discount so it's not a real USDT. So Omega is right. If you want to get rewarded in USDT they have a reward system if you keep trading and achieve a few tasks available on their event center you can earn points that you can exchange into USDT. Check them here https://www.bitget.com/events/rewards

Have you been given the reward? I have been on many exchanges and most of them gave me reward but the only reward I saw was rebate and other ones that are not more than $10 individually. I will like to know if Bitget gave you reward and you are able to use it. My experience with crypto exchanges is that they will give you task that will not let you to be able to access the reward and most time you are not the only one that is talked about but that you will share the reward with other users.

Considering how desperate they are with their shilling campaigns, I wouldn't trust them with anything - let alone giving away $1000. If they were the only CEX (or what they already are) I wouldn't use them - I consider them the very bottom of the industry.

I think that as you said, the OP is new and doesn't know, he may have received a notification of getting a 1000 reward if he completed the required tasks as a new user, these notifications come to all new users. He is initially required to deposit $100 or more. After that, he must perform a certain amount of daily spot trading and perhaps also trade futures. After all of this, there will be an opportunity to obtain a reward that will be distributed among the number of participants - who have achieved the required tasks - at random. I think this is what the OP got and didn't actually get the reward.

They'd be bankrupt if they were going to outrightly offer that to their new users. It doesn't make sense that they're literally for free but as explained above, it might be deductible for the fees or if they are for real that you can withdraw then that's where the struggle will start. Most of the challenges, giveaways or promos that they're promoting aren't really for free, there must be something to be pulled from the users, newbies or not but on your case, there's always a catch for these "free" rewards not just from them but to every exchanges.

I think this is what the OP got and didn't actually get the reward. I think OmegaStarScream already explained. That free $1000 is not withdrawable money at any time. This is the amount you can use to cover exclusively the trading fee on that exchange. That is, Bitget gives up its profit in the amount of $1000. It's a tricky tactic, I've seen it before with other exchanges. It sounds very tempting if they say free $1000.

Binance had a promotion a few months ago where they were giving you $1,000 USDT that could only be used for staking for approximately 7 days, if I remember correctly. The money wasn't withdrawable, of course, and your reward would be the couple of dollars the staking would have yielded.
I'm pretty confident this is something similar; there's no possible way you'd be given $1,000 cash. It's not too bad, as it's merely a learning experience for someone who's unaware of how staking works.

I don't know if you'd still come back here, OP, but be informed that the crypto world is full of misleading promotions, false claims, even scams, and so on. Don't trust right away; you need to verify. That's the basic rule in crypto. Read the terms and conditions. Read reviews of those who have been there, done that.
And a little logic would be of great help, too. Bitget isn't a charity. It isn't a humanitarian platform. It is a business. It is an exchange.
Bitget doesn't give away money. It offers rewards though via a point system. You can accumulate points by performing certain tasks. The points are convertible to USDT which I'm afraid you can't withdraw. You may use them, however, as coupons and bonuses which you can use in your other activities on the platform.
More importantly, please note that by religiously performing the tasks provided you have effectively become a good fool of Bitget. Moreover, please note that terms and conditions are oftentimes specifically designed to deprive you of the very bonus they're offering.

Yes, this is present on many exchanges to attract users, but they do not explain the details enough to entice new users. I remember that when I registered on the bybit.com exchange for the first time, I got a bonus. I don’t remember how much it was, maybe $200 or $100. I don’t remember exactly, but when I tried to withdraw it, they told me that it could only be used in futures trading and could not be withdrawn. This means you can trade Future with this bonus, and if you get profits, you can only withdraw the profits.

People must realize that no one is handing out money for free. There are always additional conditions, where the "house" always wins. Certainly putting the mark "free" next to any offer makes it much more attractive. I see that lately, Bitget is a lot more aggressive with promotion (at least on Bitcointalk), also a lot of user spam shilling about this exchange. I don't like such an approach, but I suppose it will have some effect

If he fulfils the tasks, I'm sure he'll get the reward and can convert it. He'll can also check this out. checking in to get some SOL & other rewards.

Can you give examples of the tasks in question here? Under what conditions are they claimable and how realistic is it for the average user to fulfill the requirements? Bitget hired a bunch of shillers to spam about them. Because of this, we cannot distinguish what is a real offer and what is a paid shill, that is why it is necessary to leave clear information.
