I don't log into coinbase that much as I don't have much funds there. But I do log in every few months at least. When I went to login to coinbase and after entering my password, it then says a code was sent to my 2FA device. The thing is I have authy, authenticator and raivo as my 2FA apps on my iphone.
When I logged into gemini and it ask me to enter my code, I got a message on my iphone from authy of the code to enter. But when I did this with coinbase, nothing showed up? I am not sure if my 2FA with coinbase is either authenticator or raivo but I know 100% it isn't authy. Can someone tell me why I didn't get a message on the top of my phone where it shows or tells me to click on it to view my coinbase code for log in?
Again, it is either authenticator or raivo but I don't remember which one I used with my coinbase account. The last time I signed on coinbase was many months ago and recalled when I did enter my coinbase password, it then had a code sent to one of my 2FA apps which was authenticator or raivo. When I click on authenticator, it does say welcome and sign into back up your codes and it has my gmail and contineu as my name or use authenticator without an account. If I click on raivo, it shows raivo otp 2 factor authentication done right and to click continue and give option of choosing none (offline) or apple icloud. So can someone explain what happened to my 2FA with coinbase and why it does this?

Are you talking about only the 2FA notification if you login? In my experience using 2FA, it doesn't actually show any notification when successfully typing the code generated from authentication even on other exchanges I don't see any notification.
The authentication you might be talking about is email I always get notified when logging in to any exchanges and receive an OTP authentication.
Or maybe your issue is time synchronization you might need to resync the authenticator you currently use.

Back in the day, I used to have trouble logging into my Coinbase due to 2FA. Whenever I would check my 2-factor authentication apps, I would not see any codes for my coinbase account (it means I never added any 2FA for my coinbase into the APP). It's very likely that the 2FA code they are talking about are either sent as SMS codes to the phone number you used for registering the account or your email address. Please check them to confirm.

I used to use an sms number for my 2FA with coinbase. I then changed it either authenticator or raivo but I forgot which one it was.
When I logged into my gemini account, I got a notification on my phone from authy to click on it to get the code and then I typed that in to log into gemini. However, when I logged into coinbase, it said code sent to my 2FA and I notice nothing shows up on my phone for authenticator nor raivo and I'm pretty sure it is one of these 2FA that I used for coinbase.

Google Authenticator and Ravio are both TOTP apps. This means you need to view your one time codes in the app because they are generated in the app and no codes are being sent out by a centralized service like what happens on SMS 2fa. Try going with no account/offline use, to clear the pop ups and access the codes. It's better for your security as well.

There is no Authenticator app that I know that shows up a notification or pop of the code. You have to open the authenticator app in order to be able to see the OTP codes that are generated every 30 seconds It's only with SMS and Emails 2 factor verification where you are able to see the message. Alternatively try resetting your 2FA - https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/managing-my-account/get-back-into-my-account/2-step-verification-troubleshooting

So if I'm not sure if my 2FA with coinbase is authenticator or raivo, what do I do first? Do I log into coinbase with my password first and then open authenticator?
Right now when I click on authenticator, it shows
Welcome to google authenticator. Sign in to back up your codes to your google account.
Then it shows my gmail address and continue as so and so with my name. There is also option below that which says use authenticator without an account. Is it possible I just click as continue as my name and once I do that, then log in my coinbase account with my coinbase password and then it sends the code to authenticator?
When I click on raivo now, it gives me the welcome screen and continue like I never configured raivo before. The thing is months ago when I logged into coinbase, it would send me the 6 or 7 digit code to my 2FA. Now it doesn't... so I am unsure why because I know it's authenticator or raivo that is my 2FA for coinbase. It use to be sms number for coinbase but I changed that.

When I log into gemini, I then get that popup message at the top of my phone that shows authy and says click on it for the code. So I click on authy and there is the code and then I enter it into gemini website to log in.
But when I enter my coinbase password and it says code sent to your 2FA, clicking either authenticator or raivo app shows nothing.

Based from the explanation in your previous reply, it looks like those two authenticator apps' data have been cleared. Have you done any phone " optimization" lately that gone beyond clearing the cache? Anyways, those cannot be restored without a backup. If you created a backup of your authenticator app's data after setting up Coinbase 2fa, simply restore it. If not, just expand and follow the " Don’t have access to your phone/authenticator app" steps in the link provided by logfiles. That'll reset your 2fa to either authenticator app.

I have no idea which 2FA I used for coinbase but I'm pretty sure it is Raivo or authenticator. I know it's not Authy because I use Authy for gemini only.
I did recall I wrote a backup for Authy and Raivo as well. So how would I do the backup for Raivo then? I am pretty sure I used Raivo for coinbase and if not that, it was authenticator.

Well, that is for you to figure out. Nobody here can help you except you. We are not the ones holding your mobile device. Members have given you different suggestions, including me where I told you to reset the 2FA, but it seems like you did do anything at all 2 months down the road. It seems you are not ready to help yourself!

What should I do first then? My 2FA for coinbase is either raivo or authenticator and I'm pretty sure it's Raivo. Now if I have a backup code for Ravio for coinbase, where would I enter it? I did recall writing down backup code for authy for gemini and raivo for coinbase I believe. So how did raivo just wipe itself off but not authy? No issue logging into gemini with authy from my iphone.

So I googled raivo and that seems to be the case and that they were sold. How in the world would most people be even aware of this? Back then for 2FA, I remember a lot of people recommended Raivo. I was using google authenticator and people said go with Ravio when using it with coinbase.
I didn't update Raivo on my iphone manually. Even when I click on raivo now, it ask to like start a new account?
The thing is I believe I wrote down a code for Raivo. Not sure if it's a master password and pin or just one of them. But would having either restore it or not? How do I log in my coinbase account now? So I should then change my 2FA with coinbase to authenticator then right? What exactly do I do now? I didn't log in my coinbase account for a while so I had no idea about this. I just was pretty sure I used Raivo for coinbase because I used Authy for gemini and no issues with Authy for gemini.

-snip- Now if I have a backup code for Ravio for coinbase, where would I enter it? I did recall writing down backup code for authy for gemini and raivo for coinbase I believe.
Usually, Authenticator apps let users manually add an entry, buttons differ per app so look for something like a " plus" or " add" button and from it, select an option that looks like will lead to manual entry of your secret code. And you don't have to use Ravio to restore it, any reputable authenticator app will do since it's not restricted to the first authenticator app that you've used. For example, if you want to restore your Coinbase's authenticator to your Authy App: https://help.twilio.com/articles/19753413823643The backup that you've mentioned should be the " secret code" ( should be a short string of letters and numbers) -edit-typo-

Okay so what did I wrote down for Raivo then? I am pretty sure I wrote a master password down and something else that might be in a pin or it might be the secret code.
But I can't use raivo now to log in? When I try to log into my coinbase account, it then says a code has been sent to my 2FA which is Raivo. So how do I restore raivo if I can even do that? It was said some company bought them so that app doesn't work anymore?
When I open the raivo app, it seems like if you are creating a new account.

First, you must understand that the 2fa code isn't " sent" to an authenticator app but generated on-the-fly by using the secret code ( that's why it can be used offline). With that, I repeat that you don't have to use Ravio, any authenticator can be used to restore your " secret code" from Coinbase when you setup 2fa. For Authy ( if you still have it installed), follow the instructions in the link I provided. Specifically the step to " - Enter key manually" where you can manually input the secret code for Authy to be able to generate 2fa codes for your Coinbase account.

I can't use authy with coinbase. Seems you have to use google authenticator or Duo.
I want to use google authenticator but I first need to get in my coinbase account but cannot because of the raivo issue. If I have a master password or pin or secret phrase written down for raivo, then how do I get into my coinbase account? I thought raivo doesn't work anymore?

Weird, AFAIK Authy uses the same algorithm as Google Authenticator which is TOTP ( RFC-6238). It's even indicated in their API documentation: https://www.twilio.com/docs/verify/totp/technical-overview#resource-definitionsMayhaps, your backup isn't a secret code equivalent to the QR Code that Coinbase shown you when you setup 2fa? The 6 characters that you entered to from Ravio to Coinbase during setup is just a normal 2fa code to check if the authenticator app is setup properly.
Without a backup, I'm afraid that your only option is to just request Coinbase for a new authenticator secret by following the instructions in the link in logfiles' post: Specifically: " Don’t have access to your phone/authenticator app".
