Soldiers using gambling to cope with stress.

There are other recreational activities to engage in for entertainment I wouldn't advice a soldier to use gambling as a way to ease stress this might lead to more stress at the end of the day. Gambling comes with a lot of emotional rollercoasters especially when you are addicted to it. If a soldier starts using gambling as something as. Stress coping mechanism it might affect his or her mental health negatively and my reason for saying this is because as military personnels they are going through a lot, adding gambling to it can be somewhat disastrous

If the soldier can limit himself from being addicted to gambling, maybe there is no problem. indeed many other activities can be used to reduce or eliminate stress besides gambling. but maybe some players do like certain games.
If the game that is played actually increases the level of stress because of the losses obtained. of course, it worsens the situation of the soldier. but as long as the loss is not a problem, everything will be fine.
It would be better to avoid activities that can actually increase our stress burden. because in gambling, it is highly recommended that you play when you are actually not under pressure. including from your work or finances.

I agree with you. It would be fairer to make the same policy for civilians, if civilians are allowed to gamble why are soldiers prohibited? Besides, as you said, everyone must have a type of game they like to relieve stress and usually if they like football they also like to bet, because it makes them happy and not stressed anymore regardless of winning or losing, the important thing is that their finances are not problematic and they can gamble responsibly.

Gambling does not interfere with work and can control finances well, I think it's okay. What if the soldier loses a large amount and becomes stressed? It will affect their mind towards the mentality of being a soldier which is much higher risk, but I don't know if soldiers in some countries are forbidden to gamble?

I'm sure the soldier knows gambling is bad behavior if it is excessive in making him/her happy or relieving stress, but if he/she is good at controlling emotions maybe it will be okay.

I think soldiers have strong military discipline, they know which one to choose as their entertainment if gambling is prohibited.

As I mentioned, prohibition will only make them use other forms of entertainment as an escape valve, and perhaps worse, such as cigarettes (although this is already normal among men in practically every profession), alcoholic beverages and even prostitution. Imagine the emotional stress and post-traumatic stress disorder these guys go through?

I've also never heard of a ban on gambling for soldiers, other than this news.

As you said, soldiers have strict military routines and disciplines and must be held to a high standard. Even if they do gamble, there is no time for them to gamble for long periods of time.

Overall, this shows that gambling is common among all people, specially those who are under psychological problems, instead of talking to a counselor, they commit to gambling.

In general, people who need to cope with psychological problems will try to get distracted by activities they enjoy or are likely to hook them up, gambling is one of them, obviously, because of the effects gambling has on the brain and the way it affects the production of dopamine.
By the way, how thing stands now in most of the world, unfortunately it is easier for the average person to have access to gambling websites than having access to appointments with mental health professionals. If one wants to seek for a psychologist, it would take up to a month to get an appointment, in contrast, to start gambling only takes a few minutes, from signing up to go through the first deposit.
