Trump will only pardon him if it's good for Trump, e.g. that Ross will be able to pay Trump a lot of money. If he doesn't have any money, he'll rot in jail forever, regardless of whether he deserves leniency.

The real danger is Trump pardoning other crypto criminals like SBF in exchange for money. This will send the price of Bitcoin into the toilet because average investors will know they can be swindled and the crypto-criminals will get away with it--so you are better off putting your money in a well-known bank.

Putting fraudsters in jail makes signals to investors that the market is stable and fair.

If Trump is elected, every average investor in the USA will bail out of Bitcoin because they know the fix will be in, and Trump will rig the market in his favor.

This will never happen due to Sam Bankman Fried aka. SBF donating millions to the Biden administration for them not touching him. Sort of a pay-off in a way, it was his own protection money.
Which ultimately back fired on him because he ended up in jail anyways.

His mother was caught in political meddling aswell but never received any prosecution.

I do love bitcoin, and I have been here since 2013 as well. So nobody can question my love for bitcoin, I wouldn't dare to entertain that. However, can someone please explain to me why should DPR be released? Was the charges bogus and fake? Because if the charges were fake, then I would understand why he should be released. But, if he is the person that made it possible for anyone to do any illegal services on his platform, including some things 100% of the population would agree very wrong, it wasn't just weed, it was terrible stuff. Why? Why should he be released?

I just do not understand the point of these bitcoiners who like to see everyone who did wrong in the bitcoin world to be released as a "win", no that is not how it works, if a person is bad then they are bad.

I've discussed Ulbricht's case with some people just recently. Overall, I don't think people like him should be in prison, let alone have a life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. His crime was non-violent, but I also do understand why he got such a harsh punishment. He challenged the system a lot by defying the court, making a marketplace what doesn't need any governmental oversight and selling, among other things, opiates. Opiates are a very sensitive topic in the US because they still have overdose deaths on the rise. Still, a guy like that would be more useful working for the country, not against it or rotting in prison.
But as for Trump, I simply don't trust him. I think he's just being a populist, telling people what they want to hear to win more votes in the upcoming elections. And then, once he's in power, he can continue doing what he always did, and that's not being pro-Bitcoin and not being libertarian. Also, commuting the sentence could be a possibility of parole without him actually getting parole, for example. He didn't say he'd pardon him or otherwise free him.

That's why Ross shouldn't be free. Let's face it, he broke the law and the worst part was paying for that murder they later staged.

That said, he shouldn't get life. Pedophiles who take advantage of their own children get 10 years. Murderers often get 10 to 15. Rapists can get as little as 5.
He paid someone to kill a guy who owed him money and run an illegal site. Does he deserve life sentence? No.
That's obviously a mistake of the justice system and a politically motivated verdict that was supposed to warn other people what could happen to them if they choose this line of work.

Interesting take but things can be seen from many angles especially with politics involved.

Maybe this is why Trump didn't want to touch his case while in office. For all those points made.
But now that bitcoin is worth alot more since then and it is a driving factor towards an economy that has turned it's back on the American dollar such as in Saudi Arabia has ceased to trade using it, then his stance has changed.

We're probably comparing oranges and bananas here. Julian's case was a lot different than Ulbricht's. And their sentences speak volumes as to the gravity of their crimes. Julian got only 62 months. Ulbricht has a double-life plus 40 years and without parole. Ulbricht won't be meted with such harsh a punishment for only creating a marketplace. So, demanding Ross to be freed because creating a free marketplace isn't a crime is probably oversimplification. Certainly, that's not taking into consideration the commissioned murders, for example.  

Anyway, Trump is a politician. We all know where these kinds of people excel best. I don't know if he even knows the case of Ross before spewing hollow promises for votes. I'm not sure but can a president even free a convict that has double life sentence plus 40 years and without parole?

Trump is trying to do everything he can to attract USA. citizens and turn them to his supporters. He will use any mean he can to get as many votes as possible. What will he do, what will be future of Dread Pirate Roberts should be discussed after he becomes a next elected President.

He mobilized as many votes as possible, and there is no real direction in his vision for his country’s future with crypto.

I am not saying that the American administration will not completely lift restrictions on companies operating in this field, but I am certain that it cannot allow laws that conflict with its financial policies, whether at home or abroad.

With how the debate ended, I even doubt that Trump would probably even remember that very thing and not to mention that they're unlikely to be really capable of doing any of the decisions with their age already showing it's side effects, I think that this is a thing that we should look out for, I don't think that we would probably see some kind of pardon for Dread Pirate Roberts because once they're back in the Oval Office, I'm pretty sure that there's going to be more pressing matters that's going to be prioritized rather than this one and I don't think that the FBI and DEA would want that to happen so there's a possibility that they might look for a way to make sure that this will not happen, I think that he has to be pardoned though, I feel like it's been a long time coming and I think that second chances should be a thing.

If you support this assassination, you are supporting an the US that should have more violence, more rebellion, and more terrorists.
