You're right understanding  the market very well is what every newbies need to know before looking out to invest, investing when you don't even have understand about how the crypto market works is very wrong because if you don't really understand how it works It will be very difficult for you to know the steps to take. From what I understand about observing the market it means not investing or taking part in the market but staying out and figuring out what is really happening around the market.

@Bryan Jessy for us to maximise our profits that's why we need to learn and observe the market margins. Do not rush to sell or buy until you set your profile or lose spot. Before investing in Bitcoin one should know the market by itself, learn from successful traders, who's willing to teach you to be successful before investing,  don't let third party to manage it for you. It's happens to me, I invested $200 in 2020 in Shiba coin, when I have no idea about it, someone introduced it to me, he managed the coin, till date I don't know how I lost the money, he told me Shiba lost value because of bitcoin fall in 2020. I have to accept it.  Till date no income from the $200 investment. Whenever I asked him he keep giving excuses, so I let it go, today I have little knowledge about cryptocurrencies and no one will cheat me again.

is always good to gather more knowledge about this space, but as an bitcoin long-term investor checking the market always can be a test to one emotion especially for those that are new to bitcoin, because most people cant bare seeing their bitcoin stashes value going down due to decrease in market price, so it may endup triggering the of one losing his money which may lead them selling in loss thinking the price won`t bounce back, thinking they are cutting losses.
