When saving your keys, it is very important to select a good medium, where your coins will be stored on. As we know, keys are most important for us to keep access to our coins, so we should carefully consider where we store our keys at.

Good mediums to store your keys at can be an offline paper, where you keep it in a safe location and protect it against light, humidity and fire and you will be safe to still have access to it for a very long time.

Don’t store your keys online in a cloud

We often hear about people recommending to store our coins is a cloud like Google Drive, Dropbox or similar.
It is not recommended to store our keys online in a cloud like Google Drive, Dropbox or similar because it can happen very easily when someone gets access to your account or data is leaked because it is simply only stored in a cloud, where access to it means your keys can be obtained by someone else.
Online mediums are just not safe to story any sort of accessing passwords because data can be leaked too easily.

Don’t store your keys too messy / always have a strategy to store your keys

It is important to keep an overview of your keys between your normal passwords and where you send it. Don’t mess it up because a mess is always a difficulty, when you are searching a certain password or keys and it is always recommended to have a good overview and a good saving strategy, where you will be able to find your passwords and keys again.


Duration for saving is key

As for any safe location, duration is key and we should always select a durable version of storing our keys at. It is not recommended to store our keys quick but trashy and we should also not rely only on memory of our keys as well as we should avoid any cloud version to store our coins at. Such cloud space can be hacked or leaked easily and our coins are in big danger.

Op so where are the important mediums to store the keys? You have said nothing except what have been said in the forum repeatedly. And since you didn't mention any means we go store our seed phrase or private then I will make a suggestion that anyone who is interested to know how to store her or his wallet private keys then make him visit Wallet Software Board on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=37.0 and you will see plenty measures to safeguard your private keys.

Wen u store your coins in a safe wallet, it will make your coins safe and secure which scammers cannot have access to, because u make a good choice to leave your coins in a safe and secure wallet, it will make u to be very comfortable in your long term hodling.

Leaving your coins unsafe wallet, it can lead to loosing of coins in d future, because it will be easy for scammers to break into to steal  your coins and go free without a single identity of d person, but if u store your BTC in electrum which is d most safe and secure wallet and u will going to enjoy your coins in d future.

No matter how hurry u are in storing your coins, never u store your details online because it will be easy for other people to have access, but if u want your keys to be in a safe place, write all your details down in a place which only u can see, which is d best strategy to use to store your keys forever.

Writing on a paper is also good, but i think there are better options, you could engrave it on a bracelet, write up on any clothe or foot wear you are wearing which will make the clothe looks like a designers outfit because sometimes the pen ink you use in writing on a paper can lost it's brightness or cleanup taking place in the house by your family members, and they are not aware of the writeup and it's being trashed away thinking it is not useful what will you do. But doing the above ideas can't be easily trashed, your permission will be given before it takes place.

Not advisable. If you need a metal backup, you can buy a stainless steel sheet or a titanium sheet for the seed phrase backup

You are advising that seed phrase should be written on a cloth or footwear? That should also be avoided just as seed phrase backup on bracelet should be avoided. Student book with those common link pen or pencil is enough for the backup. You can laminate the paper if you want. And you can get yourself a stainless steel or titanium sheet for the backup.

Thanks OP for this post because you have really laid emphasis on the need to secure our keys in a safe way to avoid loss of assets. However, you have used the phrase "do not" in the entire writeup without actually telling us where we should store the keys. I read the entire post twice waiting to see some recommendations on were to store the private keys that will be safe and will not become complicated when one need to access them. Thankfully @rachael9385 made a wonderful suggestion in the form of hardware wallet and other means of storage that I'm hopefully going to watch closely to start implementing.

Keeping well safe of our security keys can never be underrated otherwise all the labour of our holdings would go in because of in anyway a dubious someone gets reached to the keys, they automatically have access to your assets wallet and then can steal our coins.

Truly, storing secret keys online can be risky because hackers can possibly invade and compromise our Privacies.
But while we think storing security keys offline is more better than online storage, let us do consider crisis and natural disasters too which when we are stressing on saving our lives, the offline keys can get managed or totally goes misplaced either by floods, fires or war.

But if online, you can always have access to your ones you can login to online where it is stored.
If we can really be so careful and not associating where we stores our secret keys in the internet, believe it, online secret storage do also have its advantage over offline storage.
