SCRUPLEX - A cryptocurrency exchange with scruples.

They say : If you wish to read a book that not exist, write it. We made SCRUPLEX for this reason.
SCRUPLEX is an exchange which we wanted for ourselves but never found anywhere -  so we made one - for you. If you need it, you deserve it!


PROS:

• We have a very bad, ugly, pre-90s,  pre text-user-interface UI. Utterly boring and more basic than a basic bi7ch.
• We are competing with hundreds of other exchanges.
• We do not support FIAT. No bank transfers of USD, EUR, GBP, anything.

CONS:

• We do not use JAVASCRIPT.
• We do not log anything. No tracking. We are strictly privacy oriented!

Scruples means moral principles or ethical sense. SCRUPLEX OR SCRUPLES EXCHANGE is a crypto-currency exchange for the free people who want to be stay liberated from the BS of regulated exchanges which are white-collared mafia of the cryptocurrency age! After using, witnessing and personally experiencing lots of scamful, deceptive and unreliable exchanges like Poloniex, Mt. GOX, FTX and many others which walk back from their word and pull a fast one on its users, we felt the need to ultimately start an exchange which has morals. Our aim is not to make filthy amounts of money. Greed is not our philosophy. We simply intend to be a reliable exchange for traders who wish to buy and sell crypto coins hassle-free without any tensions or fear. Trading should not be stressful.

This is not an announcement. This is a declaration that the project has has already gone LIVE thanks to you all - all of you visitors, members and testers. We already have users on our platform. We did a soft launch two months ago. We  are growing and want to extend the invitation to you all readers on this forum.

F.A. QUESTIONS:

Question: Why should we trade on SCRUPLEX? What is your unique selling point?
Reason 1. We do not support FIAT. No bank transfers. You might wonder how that is a USP? We are catering to those who already have cryptocurrencies and want to buy or sell it. Example: Sell BTC to gain USDT or other cryptocurrencies, TRON, ETH, etc. or sell USDT or TRX to buy BITCOINS.

Reason 2. We are 100%, totally, utterly uninterested in your mobile number, your birthdate, what you look like, your picture, what your real name is, where you live, etc. You get what three-letter word process we are not interested in. In short we do not wish to know you.

Reason 3. We are anti-establishment. Some Legendary users here do not want us to exist. If you want to give them the b1rd, support us. Sign up. Trade peacefully. Make profits!

Reason 4: No trading fees for this whole season. After that too, trading fees are at par with other exchanges.


Question: Why should we trust you when there are so many other well-known reliable options?
Reason 1. You will be a ghost trader. Nobody except you knows what you bought or sold, unless you disclose it on your own. Our website is a black box. It is not a P2P exchange. Yes, it is custodial. You can withdraw any time, no questions will be asked. We insist you choose I2P or TOR to use our service. Not many exchanges are available which provide services like us, do that.


Question: Legendary user X says not to trust you. Why should be believe you and not them?
Unfortunately, due our staunch principles and strong privacy protocol, we are against some enemies on this forum. These enemies are abusing their powers. They are rooting for our project to fail. They are jealous and bitter since they did not get a slice of the pie and cannot see others succeed. They have been constantly trying to tear us and our ideas down, questioning our legitimacy, sowing seeds of doubt, and overall poisoning the well. Some have vested interest in other exchanges who are paying them to run ads, signature campaigns etc. So they clearly do not want competition. They are powerful and some have Legendary statuses. And they are not just doing this to us. We have seen posts made by them else where as well, trying to undermine newbies who have real, unique interesting projects. We are not afraid of these powerful foes. Let them come and attack us on this thread. Time and again we have proven to be reliable and those who have interacted with us will stand by us. We will succeed despite of their negative intentions actions.

That said, NOT every Hero, Copper Member or Legendary member is unscrupulous. Some of these are the reason this forum exists and stands strong and lets people like me start new projects. So lots of love respect to them.


Question:  You are inviting the wrong type of crowd. Why should we be associated with you?
We only want traders who are concerned about their own privacy. We do not have a washing mechanism, chances are you might send BTC to our address and receive it back from the same address upon withdrawal.. maybe not. Blockchain analysis is always present for everyone, that is bitcoin by design. So, we are not a washing/mixing  service. You can try to use us as one, but you would be unwise to do so. So, we are not inviting the wrong kind of crowd. We are inviting you - who just wants to trade privately.

Question: How do I know this is not a scam?
I agree, you do not. But if we had to run a scam, we would not invest so much time. We wouldn't wait for two and a half years, use help of people on the same forum to test the testnet service first, take their inputs, revamp our site, make UI changes, make backend changes and then delay it further to pull a scam. Also, you are always free to start small. Test a few hundred dollars of trade - see if you are able to deposit and withdraw with ease or no. We repeat, we are an exchange we wanted for ourselves but could not find it anywhere. Our page doesn't look cool. Our focus is on maintaining your privacy.

Question: How do I know you are not law-enforcement or three-lettered agency?
If we were, why would we not ask for your documents and make you use TOR and I2P? If we were indeed from the law enforcement, we would try to make you use clearnet links and log your details. We do none of that. For us, logging is impossible by design!


Question: What kind of trades can I perform?
Limit/Spot Trading only. We do not have margin trading, but we have something else: We let you place an order of  X amount at multiple coins. For example: You have 0.1 BTC. You can place an order to buy both ETH and USDT using 0.1 BTC. Not half for each, but the full value/ You can place the order at both places, whichever executes first, succeeds. The other gets cancelled. No FOMO.

It's nice to see a project that was presented to the community/tested by the community some years ago has finally reached the moment of coming out live!
You surely took your time, but, on the other hand, launching an exchange in the bull run should have its benefits in attracting customers (traders).

I've been one of the "testers" back then, I remember the exchange had an overly simplistic UI, but it was functioning well. I see now why. No KYK + Tor is a very good combo.
However, after logging in I've found pretty much same old UI which, although I understand why is so bare, still needs the touch of a designer imho (for example others' orders and the liquidity should be visible, for example the bottom buy/sell is too easy to miss)
I think I've also told you back then that, although the collaboration was good, you seem to be more a software developer than a people person. This announcement also shows you are more a developer than anything else.

So, while I wish you a warm welcome back and best of luck with your new exchange, I will also recommend you consider a collaboration with [1] somebody who has seen many more exchanges and has designer skills and [2] a peoples person to do PR and advertisement on the forum and other places too. Possibly with some liquidity providers too, at least at this early stage.

Imho we are in the days when an image or gradient color and better positioned table can draw more customers.

You are a a very sharp person. We are indeed lucky to have so many testers test our exchange back 2.5 years ago.


Some more background:

We have been working on this since 2018-2019 and we only launched our testnet exchange in end of 2021.
Took inputs from bitcointalk.org members and testers and now, finally LIVE in 2024!

Someone quipped some time ago how it is like a first webpage of an HTML learner back from the 90s. You have rightly noticed that the UI is still simplistic. No JavaScript, no BS.
No JS is mainly so that even those not using script blockers can rely upon this site and have full faith in it's extreme measures to keep users private. To be honest, that is our primary unique selling point.

We thank you for pointing the UI changes that we can implement. We will incorporate that soon.
Not sure about the "others' orders" because our exchange is extremely sensitive to NOT DISCLOSING anything you or someone else is trading. That can aide in side-channel discovery attacks.

Imho we are in the days when an image or gradient color and better positioned table can draw more customers.

Great suggestion. We indeed need a designer but our code base is convoluted since we prioritise security and privacy and the page is actually made up of a lot of moving pieces, so it is hard for us to trust the code base with a stranger.

In fact, there are no legendary users on Bitcointalk (unless it’s just the Bitcoin core developers or truly cult personalities who have been offline for a long time). We all just stay here year after year out of habit... so I would say that the secret of any legendary user is consistency.

By the way, this applies to any project. If you are active no matter what, you will get a dedicated audience.

You're correct. I'd say that this most probably shows that he is not a regular of the forum (at least this is my guess) and also his lack of PR skills (and he's exaggerating, while trying his best )
