Where do you think memecoins will go in future?

It's no surprise that solana has become a full hub for memecoins, it's not even debatable that you can say ethereum is the top 1 for memes..

But most of the memecoins are still around while some of the memecoins are possibly gone or rugged.. But new memecoins are also coming in full force... I can see a lot of new memecoins coming in, based mostly on animal themed, celebrity and more.

To be honest with you guys, I can see some memecoin projects are also attempting to build actual utility beyond just being a meme. Like bringing dapps with gamified functionalities, project own app and more... So, i'm thinking there might be more onto these memecoins. what if team just brings up more and more hype and eventually get all investors and you being a holder suddenly see the team building usecases in an announcement? Could that be possibility in future?

Anyway what you guys think about these celeb or animal themed memecoins and what have you seen on the chart? is it bad or good? Just being serious cos I know memecoin in general is not even good.

In my opinion, if these people who create meme coins were serious people who, before creating the coin, thought of a serious project, something that was not a copy of Doge or other altcoins, it was an exclusive idea and they had intentions of executing the project to long term because it would be a project that would be bringing a solution to something, also that the creators of the projects would show their faces, not remain hidden, show the experiences they have in the field of the project they intend to execute, show an office in which they work , then I would start to look at meme coins more seriously, I could even think about investing in them, when I look at coinmarketicap

I see that in the top 10 there is only Doge which I consider as the original meme currency, the rest I consider copies, I could be wrong, in the past I used Doge a lot, it was the second cryptocurrency I used, first it was Bitcoin and then it was Doge which I used it when I entered this cryptocurrency market. but today I wouldn't use doge because it was damaged, in my opinion it has become a pump and dump currency when people look at some good news they rush to buy and then it goes up and then falls, I prefer to invest in bitcoin only. but these meme coins need to have serious creators for them to be taken seriously, most people look at meme coins as an investment scheme to make a very quick profit, they are not interested in what kind of positive changes the meme coin will bring in practical terms

Since we've not had a proper bull, I think we'll see more memecoins like Pepe, wif in top 10 mcap when the bull run begins proper. Memes is actually a way to make quick profit imo. You just need to be smart about it. I've had some success regarding meme for some time. Now I've switched my attention to BOMB. Let's see what this brings..

Memes with celebrity or animal themes are of course all just looking for profit no more than now the use of dapps that they make or other functional, memes are just joke coins that are made into a large community due to more fomo than they realize meme coins in the future.

One of the main reasons on why traders or investors are really that fond of dealing with meme coins is that it do give out that chance that they could really be able to hit 100x or 1000x into their investment in a short
period of time or simply making them rich on the moment that it would happen. There are meme coins that turns out to be that developmental after such hype or simply getting that strong community support on which we know that it could really be possibly happening. If we do really tend to look and check into those dexe's then it isnt really just that limited on Solana meme coins alone but also in other chains as well.
It did really just that turn out that SOL memes are on the trend now. I do remember up those days on where BSC meme coins are on the hot seat and now we are on SOL.
I wont be shocked if the meta would really be switching into other chain.

As of those those types or names used then it would really be that situation on which it would really be something that could changed up on a snap.
Developers would really be making up names on which are currently on trending and it would continue as it goes.

There are plenty of threads on these already but they will almost all end up at the same price $0.  Most are just worthless copy and paste with a different name.  They don't solve anything and is merely just a fad.  People will make money in the short term on memecoins but if you hold too long you lose it all.  Basically a game of musical chairs with your money.

So for me, Dogecoin will stay but most of the other memecoins out there will vanish and will not stay for too long. A bear market event will clean these random memecoins.

price tanked since hitting all time high, i doubt it will ever go up again, I bet there are many people that become exit liquidity same thing with $DADDY and other celeb tokens too.

I think the economic is more sustaining with the meme themed coin such as $WIF $BRETT and something like that, where they are hitting billions while these celebs token already being dumped so hard after hititng tens of million of dollars as FDV.

don't let yourself get trapped, however, you have to be able to only use memecoin as a speculative asset, the point is to make big profits in a short time, for long-term investments, you have to choose assets that are in the top 10 only, before memecoin on the Solana network viral, there were previously memecoins on the ETH and BNB networks but all of them have moved, in fact many are now dead

and from what I'm seeing, this meme altcoin called bomb, has already been in existence for over 2 years and had its ATH on Jul 14, 2022 (2 years ago) when it reached $1.71, I confess that when I saw At this price I thought: "I'm definitely not seeing it well, there's some error". but there's no mistake, it's really $1.71 as can be seen in this photo:



and looking at the current price which is $0.01811
 Honestly, it looks like it has become a dead project, it is not normal for a good project to have such a huge price drop and for it to only be listed on just 1 exchange in 2 years of existence. This makes me think that I am facing a currency that has had a pump and a dump and that has nothing useful to offer and for this reason the people who bought at the beginning and made profits have already sold at the top and now they have no interest in buying again this altcoin and the owners of the project also created this altcoin to make a profit and then abandoned the project

and that was exactly what I was talking about in my first post I made in this thread in which I said that many people create coins just to make a profit and disappear, they don't plan well and create something that will help the community. That's why I advise people to think before investing in any new altcoin or token or even in any old altcoin or token. because there are many coins without much meaning. I hope you be careful with this bomb coin, if you bought it in 2022 and made a lot of profit, then don't buy more again, if you bought it in 2022 and didn't sell at the top and continue doing hodl, then you wasted a great chance of profit, because this alt will not reach $1.71 again

I understand what you're saying, but I don't agree. Yes, memecoins are getting a lot of attention and money, but they're basically gambling. Hype is the only thing keeping them alive. Some projects might be legit and turn out well, but who knows how long that will last?

I've been involved in some useless projects before, but now I'm more careful before joining any memecoin projects.

I've learned my lesson, and hopefully, you'll learn yours soon too.

Meme coins are just a trap to grab retail money. There are countless meme projects that don't have any vision or anything. Owners just launch a meme token pump the price, and then rug the community. The same process continues till the market is exhausted. When retail investors understand this game of meme scammers they will start avoiding the meme project and the money will flow into utility based projects. I don't see meme projects have any future at all without any utility.

Exactly what i thought and said before many times that its all about hype and trend. People who are new on crypto they fall into the trap and they think they will be rich within a second that's why they put their valuable money into meme coin and finally when the project run away they lost their everything. I also say it’s like gambling on crypto. If you are so lucky you may rich within short time from any meme coin but most of us lost from here. Though Dogecoin has set it stand on crypto but still it’s a meme, I personally don’t trust on any meme coin and never suggest it.

You see as utility but I do see as "traps". Yeah, we had 1000s of altcoins and tokens and 90% of them promised about real world application but zero ended up real life utility. You may show some example from the past but the overall percent of projects which keeps their words up is almost near to zero; I mean exceptions cannot be considered to risk our money. So, staying away is highly recommended. Basically the trend of memecoins may disappear very soon.

I do not think that you would get a chance to test your capital with memecoins. 99% of altcoin devs are scammers who ruined the entire industry and also degraded the reputation of bitcoin market as well. Very soon that we can expect altcoin industry to start falling down due to lack of support from investors. Honestly, im seeing celeb and animal themed meme token other than cat, dog and pepe as scam tokens. Though many tokens related to dog, cat, and pepe were scam but there were still fewer good tokens. And why? I tell you, mostly meme animal and celeb themed tokens were scam. These kind of tokens being created everyday by random person for the scamming purpose.
And these animal and celeb meme tokens are always having terrible chart. It's pumped at launch. Then, it's dumped so hard. And, it's also a rug-pulling liquidity provider.

The chart looks bad now. This is after the bitcoin dump. Even some popular meme tokens are struggling to recover from their yearly low. And last, i remind you always be careful when you're dealing with celeb or meme tokens.

What happened to Dogecoin is more than just a hype. It is the first and original meme coin, that is why and even up to this point, Dogecoin is still there and being considered by either regular investors/crypto users and meme coin lovers. Meme coins or not, it's normal that many of them are going down the drain after some time and only those who remained had really got what it takes to be on their current positions.

Even if there are no bear markets, a crypto coin can still die but no doubt that market cycle had some certain effects on them, like for example when there is a bull run, many projects are being created and this gives an illusion that makes us think that less projects are only dying.

Currently, meme coins are pumping the price the most, and dumping the most when there is a downturn in the Bitcoin market. Basically altcoins are risky, currently I am connected to Wif, and BOME Coin.  It has been the most dumping in the market but while WIF Coin is more likely to recover, Bome Coin has recovered less. My purchase of WIF Coin was at $3.2021 it has been hovering between two dollars so far.

well that is literally why they still exist until now though, people want tool of pump and dump and meme coin did just that, literally entire community of meme coin cater to the fact that some people trying to flip their 1 grand to hundred grands within a night so it does make sense that market is full of scammer and rugpulls but most of the big meme coin does indeed become a perfect tool for speculation in my opinion and fun fact is that, meme coin among the one that recovers the fastest within the recent dump.

the coin that gets surrounded by hypes indeed have tendency to make faster recovery than anything else.

so yeah, good for speculation, might be too risky for long term investment.

The answer is simple, those meme coin projects that bring actual utility for their communities are going to stay because they are going to have use cases and people will keep using them in the future as well, and meme coins that have no utility at all and have no projects or functionalities backing them up may gain temporary hype and gain some value but they will eventually die and will be replaced by new ones.

However, despite all these things, I wouldn't recommend anyone spending a lot of money on meme coins hoping that they are going to get rich by doing this because even if a meme coin has a project backing it up, it will still contain a lot of risks and one should only invest a small amount in it to try their luck so that they don't lose a lot of money.
