Dambulla Sixers vs Colombo Strikers, 20th Match in LPL 2024. Dambulla Sixers won by 28 runs. Colombo Strikers won the toss and elected to field first. Dambulla Sixers scored   123 in a -10  wicket from 20 Overs. Reeza Hendricks and Kusal Perera opened Dambulla Sixers innings. But both openers did not play well. Reeza Hendricks out only one run and played 8 balls. Kusal Perera scored just 7 runs. Mohammad Nabi played very good innings, he made 40 runs from 33 balls. on target of 124 runs  Colombo Strikers start their batting.  Both opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Angelo Perera go back without scoring.  Colombo Strikers all-out just   95 runs from 18. overs 1 balls.

Another important point is that these two teams have met twice this season. Both teams won one match each. Both the matches were very competitive and exciting.

Galle's squad has talented batsmen like Dickwella, Alex Hales and Tim Seifert. Alex Hales played an unbeaten innings of 104 off 63 balls against Jaffna in the Courage match. Hales batted well. Although Galle was defeated in the match. On the other hand Jaffna squad has experienced players like Pathum Nissanka, Mendis, Fernando and Rilee Rossouw. So both teams are qualified to qualify for the finals. I think the chances of both winning this match are 50-50.

Yes, You are right Dambulla Sixers winning this match but they didn't qualify for playoffs because of low run rate. while Dambulla Sixers Outstanding performance in this match won by 28 runs against Colombo Strikers. Nuwan Pradeep amazing bowling picked 3 important wickets by just giving only 20 runs and chamindu Wickramasinghe also picked 2 wickets and all out Colombo Strikers under 100 runs. The Player of the Match is Mohammad Nabi for his all-round performance first scored 40 runs from just 33 balls only and in bowling also take wicket and helped the Dambulla Sixers to win this match easily.

Galle Marvels are top of the points table with 10 points and Jaffna Kings are in second position on the point table. The first Qualifier was played today between the top two teams Galle Marvels and Jaffna Kings. Galle Marvels is my favourite team to win this qualifier against Jaffna kings.

Galle Marvels opted to field today after winning the toss against Jaffna. But the Galle bowlers could not bowl well. Rilee Rossouw scored 40 off just 22 balls and Kushal Mendis played a much-needed innings of 46 runs. Besides, Avishka Fernando collected 52 runs off 33 balls. Avishka Fernando batted brilliantly. At the end of 20 overs, Jaffna players managed to collect 177 runs by losing 7 wickets.

Galle's batsmen have the ability to win by batting at a target of 178 runs. In the previous match, the Jaffna team set a target of 178 runs. Galle Marvels won the match. Looking forward to see if Galle batsmen can bat responsibly today.

Today the players of both the teams will suffer from mental anxiety as a fear will work in them that they will be eliminated today if they lose. Which will force them to put more pressure but the team players who ignore this pressure and play well will eventually win and be ahead in the race to the finals.

Jaffna Kings looking strong in this match. However, just now Kusal Mendis is also out by Jayasuriya on 46. However i believe that they can still make 180+ runs and if they are able to do that, this would be a match winning score.

Well unfortunately things goes beyond your expectation it's true that Jaffna kings scored according to your expecting score which was around 180 but still they unable to hold on situation and thus lose one of thier important match which will push them abit more down from top standing team of the Lanka premier league. Jaffna scored decent but their bowling was not upto the target or some how we can say Galle titan batting line-up was just on fire especially new Zealand beast oppner Seifert and Thier local power hitter J. Liyanage who really make things easy for his team despite things were looking really really hard. Anyway a big congratulations to Galle titan and if they continue thier winning run I am sure they will get the final easily.

This game was concluded today now and once again CLS team lost the game and their rank still stuck on bottom rank. CLS team tried hard to make good runs target and total scored 159 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Sadeera batsman made 62 runs in 45 balls and he hitted seven 4s. But their team bowlers were failed to stop Kanday team batter to chase their target. Kanday team chased down all target in 18.4 overs by losing 8 wickets. K Mendis got a player of game award he scored 54 runs in 36 balls and hitted three 4s and three 6s. D Shanaka also made 39 runs in 21 balls and hitting four 4s and two 6s. Congratulations Kanday team to win this game and their bowlers also performed very great and m.Hasnain took down 3 wickets in 3 overs with 24 runs.

As we have seen that Galle Marvels reach through the final of this League and also Jaffna Kings had once more chance to be play against Galle Marvels once again into the final match if Kandy Falcons will lose against Jaffna Kings in Qualifier 2.

In short, Jaffna Kings still have a match to play and if they won that, then Jaffna Kings and Galle Marvels will meet at the final match once again. However, in the first Qualifier match , the of the player award goes to Dwaine Pretorius as he picked 4 wickets up and easier for his team towards the way of final and take one more step closer to the trophy.

Kandy folcons won this eliminator match form Colombia Strikers team. Kandy folcons played a fantastic match. The best match was played by dasun shanaka. Colombo strickes sorry from my side and played the match very poor made very few runs and lost. I hope Colombo strickes will play well ahead and perform best in next season. But both teams need a lot of work to progress and also nee more practice for next season. I hope Colombo strickes they well played better in the nest match. This showed great skill a determination on the field. Kandy Falcons total runs for 163 and won the match. Colombo strickes total runs for 159 and lost the match. Kandy Falcons won by 2 wickets and 8 balls. The Eliminator match between Kandy Falcons and Colombo strickes at the country R premadas stadium. Yesterday total two matches were played and also finished in Lanka premier league competition and in these matches, one Qualifiers match was finished and other Eliminator match was fully completed. In first Qualifier match which was played among Jaffna Kings sqaud against Galle Marvels squad, we saw big match among these squad with massive difference in their innings performance both batting and bowling. Jaffna Kings sqaud successfully managed to set 177 scores as a Defeating target after playing 20 overs with lost of 7 wickets. Defeating target was very good and also have much power to beat big sqaud but their bowlers of Jaffna sqaud was not defend by Galle Marvels squad batter. Their batters successfully achieved the Defeating target after playing 18.1 overs, in this match, both these batters Janith Liyanage and Tim Seifert displayed strong partnership in batting and both collected 62 and 56 scores respectively. Bowling side, Dwaine Pretorius picked up 4 batter wickets after bowling 4 overs and in these wicket, some was very important who played with fantastic performance.
