The eliminator match between Colombo Strikers and Kandy Falcons was evenly poised a few overs back, but now it has swung heavily towards Strikers. Falcons have 4 wickets remaining, and they need another 77 runs. And Matheesha Pathirana seems to be on fire. He has already nabbed Angelo Mathews and Chaturanga de Silva (and has 2 overs left for today). Shanaka and Kamindu Mendis are at the crease now and the tail starts after them. As of now, it looks as if Strikers may play against Jaffna Kings for Qualifier 2.

In first play off lanka premiere league jaffna kings played first and made 177 runs excellent batting by Avishka Fernando scored fifty while kusal Mendis make 46 runs from galle Titans side Dwaine Pretorius took 4 wickets. Jaffna kings team failed to defend this target with excellent batting by galle Titans batsman they played long innings and chased down the target in 18 overs with lose of three wickets Tim Seifert and Janith Liyanage played 92 runs partnership on just 62 balls which help Galle Titans to won this match. No doubt excellent innings performance by Galle Titans team and they qualified for final of LPL while Jaffna Kings have another chance to play final

JK batsmen gave a good target in the match.  Their batsmen had shown good pace and good performance.  But their bowler did not perform well due to which their batsmen suffered.  If their bowlers took wickets and stopped the runs, they could have won the match.  Their bowler took only 3 wickets.  And the GAM batsmen won the match by completing the target of 181 in 18 overs.  Congratulations to them for this win and may they continue to play like this and keep winning matches.  If JK's bowlers had worked hard, they would not have lost this match.  Due to weakness of their bowlers they lost in this winning match, their bowlers should not exaggerate their weakness.If they keep playing like this, they will have to lose a lot of matches.

Hardluck my favorite team Colombo Strikes is out of the tournament. Kandy Falcons outstanding batting performance in the second playoff and just a narrow victory over the Colombo Strikers. Muhammad Hasnain bowled very well and picked up 3 important wickets by just giving 24 runs and Wanindu Hasaranga also bowling well picking 2 crucial wickets and restricting Colombo strikers to under 160 runs..the match-winning credit goes to the player of the match Kamindu Mendis for his amazing batting skill scored 54 important runs added from just 36 balls that affected the run chase and finally, in the end, Kandy Falcons won the match and they will play Semifinal match against Jaffna kings tomorrow at Premadasa Stadium.
