Resources are not infinite, that's true. And unfortunately, it turns out that we are depleting them through mining. Business is very insidious and insatiable in this regard, and as a rule, money decides everything. Businessmen give several bribes, and foresters turn a blind eye to the fact that the forest then begins to disappear due to deforestation. This is offensive and unfortunately nothing can be done about it, because we are just small people in this area, and corporations don’t care about our opinions.
There are several problems with the way the economy is run, one of those issues is that in fact resources are basically thought as infinite, businesses are always pushing for more growth and if those expectations are not met, the price of the stock goes down, even if there was growth.
And another issue is that our resources are being depleted for completely useless stuff, so we are not really getting much for such behavior, and if this continues, the next generations will have to make do with way less than what we have today, as there will be nowhere near the same resources that we have today.
The problem is that they are building stuff that will eventually can't be built. The most common one for example is tesla cars, they think that they can build it as much as they want, but they can't, the resources they are using are finite, so they need to figure out a different way to build their battery, or they are going to end up not being able to build any new cars eventually when the resources end.
Same with money, all the big companies and rich people are getting more and more money, and in the end we are talking about something that is taking some time, not really that smart and causes the issues. This is why I think it's clear that we are going to end up with a much different result on the long run, not going to be easy.
