Drake is being biased with his bet and in such bet you have a very slim chance of winning. He is only bragging with his country and decided to throw money away by betting on them just to show off and make his name to be on the first page on sport papers.

Drake is a careless gambler and he does not care about that since he is using an amount that he can afford to lose. Argentina is the favorite in this match.

Risky bet but it's his country. He wouldn't really show the public he would be betting against his country. He is aware Canada has a slim chance but Nationalism is one way to show you love your country.  An upset will always be a big win.  A wiser decision, he could still be winning a large sum if he goes to the betting platform's favorite team.

What do you think Stake will say when their influencer is doing the risky bet? I don't think this will encourage gamblers to do the same when most of them are up to make money by winning.

Well this is gambling and in gambling all that a gambler need is just a predictions them wait out to see if they predictions wins or not, I won't say that Drake have lost outrightly since the possibility of him winning also is there, Canada shouldn't be understated is this match and since some gamblers vet along odds line I think Drake may have bet along that line too.

What I noticed in this bet when I saw the news is that:

1: Drake is betting along emotions since it seems his over confidence in his national teak make him to bet such huge amount of 300k on the bet.

2: Drake exhibit greed if he bet along odds line since Canada odds is bigger is this match and he may have paid more attention to the total rewards more than the risk of losing that whole amount.

Drake and Stake are partners, so i don't know if all the bets he posts on his social media handles are actual bets or if it is just a form of marketing, i am not sure about my suspicion, but it is a possibility.

That being said, Argentina are favorites to win the match, everyone who watches football knows that, and that is the more reason why i am sceptical that Drake placed such an amount on Canada winning, nobody likes to lose money, no matter how rich you think the person is.

He is a top celebrity and he share the slips publicly with the info of the betting company, this is top publicity for that company and puts them on the trend list across all social platforms. I will be very surprised if he does not get paid for that.

As long as the name “Drake” is involved it’s definitely just a risk he has decided to take another risk and stake $300,000.

If it was another person I would have considered nationalism as one of the reasons why he’d make such a decision but as long as we’re discussing Drake, it’s definitely just trying out his luck again - if they should do an interview he might agree on nationalism being the reason just to cover or reduce the talk but deep down he knows that it’s just risk taking.

At a certain point you might start to question whether something more is going on here, whether Stake.com is maybe paying him $350k in order to place a $300k bet and allowing him to pocket the extra $50k as his reward, because in that situation it is very likely that Stake.com would take their money back with minimal risk - while getting all the benefits of a huge superstar who has a massive following promoting risky bets that are placed on their platform. We already know that Drake is sponsored by Stake.com and this could all be part of their public, or hidden, marketing strategy that would likely skirt on the very edges of acceptable advertising behavior but be fully signed off by his army of legal professionals.

I also have my doubts that Drake and Stake may just be working together in a way he will bet and not get any loss but Stake paying him for a job well done which is about promoting their gambling site. But I also think that if Drake take the opponent to win like during Usyk and Fury fight, it will also still be known on the news. We can not exactly know if it is true or not. That would be best known between Stake and Drake. But if this is for marketing, it is working as planned. Although Stake is a reputable gambling site which is what that matters.

Drake probably is either a little bit of an addict himself and/or being used to bring attention to online sports betting. There are very few platforms that could take such large bets, stake being one of them along with Drake's partnership surely will bring a lot of attention to the platform especially through a copa america bet. I think for platforms like Stake this is a victory in three domains. The notoriety they receive with experienced gamblers for being a platform that can handle such large bets, introducing new people to gambling through Drakes infamy, and also introducing new people to soccer.

So all in all it's an interesting marketing tactic. Honestly though this is generating a lot of heat and discussion but probably drake doesn't care that much either way. If he cared about the outcome would he have announced his bet? Most gamblers think they'd jinx their winnings if they do that. Especially a famous person wouldn't have been announcing such activities if it wasn't for something being in it for them. This is for sure a very good marketing tactic though because obviously it worked at getting us talking.

I think Drake has the financial ability to take such a risk and his decision to bet on Canada is from both nationalism and risk taking. Betting with emotions is not advised, but maybe some people who can bear the financial risk can afford to do so. It is not easy to predict football, but everyone knows that with the way Argentina currently play, it is not easy to win them. If Canada will win the game, they need to do better what Ecuador planned to do against Argentina.

I cannot see any form of nationalism in the scenario.  This is more likely a fan betting in hopes that his favorite team wins.  This is more likely a gambling engagement where he wanted to take advantage of the odds to win a bigger amount of money.

One can support his country even without engaging in gambling.  He can cheer for his national team and watch as the game unfolds.  Engaging and betting for his national team to win is not an act of nationalism but rather a person who is so fond of gambling and engages in it the moment he finds an opportunity.

I think the bet under $500k  is normal for the guy.  There are news about Drake losing $500k to some sports so betting $300k on his national team is a bit low, IMO.

It looks to be a marketing strategy, i strongly doubt that Drake actually plays all the bets he posts on his handles, he is one of their partners, and this is one way to advertise the gambling casino. Drake has 145M followers on Instagram, so what better way to advertise the casino that post games he claims he played with a lot of money on his IG story or on his page.

High risk taker of course on which it's impossible that you won't really be watching or considering about the payout that it gives on which it's a normal approach to have.We do know on how Drake made out some bets on which it would be understandable that you won't really be that focusing that much about being that patriotism or nationalism when it comes to betting on which I wouldn't really be having that kind of consideration when making betting.

The main thing that you do have in mind is to make good bets basing up on those considerations on which one does have a higher chance of winning and bet accordingly, but somehow it would be that case to case basis since there are really bettors who do make out such considerations when making up some bet.

When gamblers place risky bets and win, they are celebrated and called high-risk takers. But when they lose money, people call them careless gamblers. If one can afford to take the risk, I don't see any reason to call him careless since he can afford to lose it. And if he is doing this to brag about his country, then he is exhibiting his nationalistic spirit. Argentina might be the favorite but sport is an unpredictable terrain. In the last World Cup, we saw a lowly placed Saudi Arabia beating the almighty Argentina which was highly unpredictable.

Probably both? I mean he can afford to be both lol. Well more of a high-risk taker and less of a nationalistic one though, personally never seen him as one before anyway. In addition, we all know how Drake is a pretty well-known celeb gambler so it's no surprise why he chooses picks that are, well, like this.

And well again, he can afford it. He doesn't need to adopt all the efficient and higher chances of winning, he can afford to pay for losses for a really big win and this looks like one of those chances he's going to take.

It is a mixture of both taking risk and also feeling patriotic enough not to bet against ones motherland. I think this is a situation in which many gamblers and bettors have found themselves in. In my personal opinion, I would rather not to bet at all if my country was to face a bigger and more prepared opponent in a stadium, so I would wait for the result to show up and then move own.
To be fair, there is still a chance Drake proves us all wrong and he manages to break his "curse", pocketing and good money out of an unlikely result like this one. Time will tell,  Argentina is a fierce opponent after all.
