Why are you using betting agent to stake on crypto gambling sites?

I saw this scam recently:

The first gambling site that I gambled on was a local gambling site. I deposited Fiat from my bank or sometimes fund my betting account using the Fiat ATM those days. I did not use a betting agent at all.

I have a friend (which was for short period of time) that I met when I travelled to another state to spend a year. I was surprised he has good phone but he only used the phone to check for on some matches to be played, select some and go to a betting agent to stake money on the matches he selected. He told me that he does not want to deposit directly online that he prefers offline. The betting agent would be given cash.

There was a day that I followed a friend of mine to a betting agent. I only see them in stricts but I have never gone there before except twice that I followed this my friend there. I noticed that some people do not have good browsing phone which could be another reason of using a betting agent.

But if it is a crypto gambling site, why the need for a betting agent? I know that user is a scammer and tagged him already unless proven otherwise.

Is anyone interested to use a betting agent to stake on crypto gambling site? I see it as not having any sense. I do not think such people will be able to protect their coins if they do not know how online is.

Anyway, in general, if they don't have regulations, don't issue receipts, don't have a real official service, it's basically using a sort of black market for betting/gambling....with all the risks involved.
definitely to be avoided, even if they offer higher odds or any kind of advantages.

All betting agents that I have seen in my country are offline betting agents. I have not seen any betting agents online before until today that I saw the one on the link that I posted above which made me think of this question. I do not think crypto gambling site betting agent are existing or am I wrong? Because I do not see any point of their existence because cryptocurrencies are online as the gambling sites are online. These made me think that this user is a scammer unless the gambling site is having office and physical presence in the country. He is only here to scam and nothing more than that.

That's kind of confusing.
Yes, I would rather deposit directly on the gambling site rather than trust another person to deposit it for me just so I could say I did it offline. Well, some people just don't trust the online financial industry so maybe that's the reason behind it. Also, this might be his traditional way of doing things, and don't want to change it.
There could be different reasons but at the end of the day, I think we all just want our money secured and maybe he had been doing it for a long time and never had any issue yet. Still, I think it's a waste of time to put the money into a betting agent before you gamble and I don't trust that way too.

Crypto gambling sites requires crypto assets to be able to gamble on their sites which means it will need either an Internet enabled phone or a good computer that has internet connectivity to be able to transfer crypto assets to your crypto gambling account unlike the normal gambling sites that uses Fiat and has their offices in physical places and you can use physical notes to gamble in those offices even though Fiat can still be transferred to the agents in order for them to place a bet for you but in crypto gambling it seems different since cryptos are not in physical form I don't see any reason why there should be an agent that will stand a as a middle man between the crypto casino company and the gambler when they can just open a crypto gambling account at their convenience with a mobile phone or computer. Any gambler who can be able to transfer crypto assets to another should also be able to know how to use crypto gambling sites and how to transfer funds to their crypto account and how to stake bets directly with the funds they have in their crypto account instead of going to an agent to place a bet and transfer cryptos to them.

I completely agree with this. If gambling is legal in a country, I don't see a reason why someone would want to use a betting agent to make their bets and not do it themselves because if it's legal, you shouldn't face any issues even if you are depositing cash or using a bank app to deposit on a sportsbook that you are willing to use.

There can only be one reason why one might use a betting agent, maybe they do it to avoid paying taxes or having their wins filed as a taxpayer which might not be the case if you are making your bets through an agent but I don't know if that works because the agent will need to pay taxes for making those bets and running the service and if he does, he would charge extra from the bettors as well.

In anyway, I would undoubtedly feel more comfortable making my bets myself by depositing the funds directly in a sportsbook regardless of the legal consequences.

Of the law permit gambling, then it doesn't matter be it online or offline agents it make no difference because the duty their perform are the same so no big deal about that, although I haven't patronised online betting agent before so I don't know how they services function if it different from the offline sport bet agent I used sometimes ago.
The thing that baffles me is that, why should someone who have an internet enable device like mobile phone or a computer be depending on betting agent to stake games for them, I don't understand it like laziness for me and a total waste of time since the agent is also making use of same computer or mobile phones in the agent shops to stake your games and then print you a ticket, it's better to handle things on your own since it enhances your privacy, security and even ease stress for you if you handle things on your own.
Lastly what I want to know is how do the online telegram group betting agent get funding and who pays the gambler they winning if rewards payment comes from the online agent then you as a gambler using such betting agent is at risk since telegram is known to be a fist ground for scammers because of the privacy over there, so I don't take any service comming telegram group serious.

I’m personally not interested but I can think of a few reasons why someone would use a betting agent.

First of all they might not be interested in holding crypto themselves. They just want to use it for gambling and then switch back to fiat for profit later on which will be given by the betting agent.

They might also not have reliable internet connection and as you said reliable electronics. Which in this case a betting agent seems more convenient.

I am not so familiar with betting agents but if they provide or allow some lending for gambling then that might be another reason why people turn to betting agents.

Well, our personality varies, the place we live differs and our future plans matter, don't forget that all may influence our gambling decisions. Some people may not even want their bank account records to show anything gambling due to one reason or another which includes but is not limited to religion. It is when you live in a certain locality that you know. Some people may not immediately have anything to fear but for their future plans of moving to some region, any background checking matters to them. While some people are just private in nature, they do not want anyone to know what they do in their closets which we need to respect.

If at all these people want to gamble, they may either do it at an agent shop or fund their gambling account through an agent without the involvement of their bank account or card. Unfortunately, the latter is not available in most places, so gambling directly with an agent shop could be the only option for them.

As for staking bets with agents, you can't outrightly condemn it even if my reasons above don't apply. Circumstances can happen, some people might want to bet but their phones were stolen or lost, and it may even be damaged. To some people, their ISP may disappoint, while for others, it may be the issue of financial constraints where they have enough physical cash but no digital money in their banks and betting platforms. And many more.

If you don't receive a payment, who can you contact? How can you trust their work if you are playing with someone on the street?
In Italy this is called "toto-nero" just to highlight the shady aspect of this kind of business.

Here in my country the black market for gambling is also rampant but I haven't heard of a betting agent who is a complete stranger. I mean, why should one needs a betting agent? If one wants to bet but he/she doesn't have an internet or smart phone to do that, does that necessitate a betting agent? Doesn't everybody have a neighbor or a friend or a relative who has a phone or computer to do that? I've also placed bets on behalf of family and friends, my father included, either because they don't have betting accounts or they don't know how to bet online. Charles-Tim most of them are not familiar with online gambling site some of them could be afraid of not keeping their login details safe maybe they wouldn't want in a situation where they could win huge amount and not having access to the site to withdraw their money due to losing password or not having access to mail to restore back there account.

Other reason again I know is that some of them do not have account, like local bank account to be crediting their online gambling account directly. Why I said this is that as then I could remembered my uncle who usually gamble and he do give's me cash to stake for him in local shop and return back ticket for him, I know too well that he doesn't have a bank account even when he wins he was asked to send account details so they could credits him directly instead of coming to have cash from the agent it was then he said "I don't like bank of a thing that our country stressed people out of nothing, they will start telling him to get this & that and at same time they could be charging him for maintenance fee" which his money could start depreciating therefore I should go give them my bank details to credit the money, after I should go cash it out and bring to him to store at home.

Some are also interaction you know as a Gambler going to the gambling shop to gamble makes it more attractive and interesting to gamble, most times you get some other updates you weren't getting before and due to going out to gamble you would join some discussion from then update flows-in this could be another tools for sure games maybe you can re-select your options to suit for the information you already gotten outside there, I believe this same reason was why people do go out to watch football instead of staying at their comfortable zone to watch it.

All these are some of the limitations why most people doesn't like using online gambling site instead they preferred using an agent in order to still have that trust that when they wins there withdrawal is sure without any complaint issues about how they was unable to withdraw their money.

I do not think that we used used a betting agent, regardless if it is landbase on online fiat or crypto. But I will admit that I used a betting agent before because the betting shop is too far from us. So there is this guy that we used that he will gather all our bets and then he will run to the betting shop. Sometimes he will go and bet it in a fly by night shop and so we know the risk as well. But during that time and in the years that we bet and used this guy and that fly by night betting shop, we were not scam although there will be time that our winnings are going to be cap specially if you win big in that fly by night shop but it's all good. At least we got the winnings and then pay that guy to be our middle man or agent like 10% of our winnings. But in crypto based, no there should be no betting agent.

I think betting agent through telegram is quite different and far from realistic unlike offline betting agent that is traceable, reliable and in fact trust worthy. I have not heard of a gambler who won through offline betting agent and didn't get paid after prove of betting slip was provided. So that of telegram is quite different, unheard and doesn't make sense. Why don't the gambler send money direct to the online casino instead of taking the risk of going through telegram agent that is not traceable. The worse that can happen when you are scammed through it is to report to telegram and the agent gets blocked but then the money is gone.

However, regards to the reasons gamblers may gamble online or offline, apart from bad phone which I think is fast fading off because many gamblers now have good phones and those few that don't can bet through their friends phone if they want to. The main reason I think same gamblers avoid online is the uncontrollable times that they can bet after losing or winning. I think some gamblers have narrated their odeal on online gambling as excessive amount of times they gamble and they decide to use offline. That is for those who can't control the urge to gamble.

I get your point OP, because how will you pay the coins to the agent to help you stake your bet when it is a waste of time because instead of transfering your coins to him why don't you just transfer it directly to your bet account. Looks fishery though.

I can understand that of local fiat currency but crpto is used online and you are also gambling online so why do you need the betting agent. Whoever tries to use that online betting agent will regret his actions later. I have never used a bering agent and I love staking myself because I do that at my own convenient time.

For the most part, most of the people I'm conversant with within my locality who prefer going to physical betting shops for their gambling go there for the sake of getting reviews about the games they are staking and maybe charging their mobile devices or watching live matches.  Some will even visit the gambling site with their mobile device select all the games and still visit an agent that places the bet for them. It's more of a matter of choice and preference and since for some people, gambling is rather a fun activity than just a means to gaining any financial incentives, gambling through an agent and conversing with fellow gamblers might be what is good for them.

For Crypto gambling, it's not feasible and even reasonable to send your coin to an agent before staking your bet when you can easily do it with your device. The charges from your end and from the agent with who you will stake the bet make it unwise and a bit stressful to gamble through that means.  Such kind of gambling option is only feasible through the use of fiat and for the long run, it's not even the best option. Give at least one reason to use a gambling agent. To me, this looks like a useless link in the user->online casino chain that requires extra payment. Indeed, this is pointless, especially with cryptocurrencies, which also allows to get rid of another parasite in the chain called banks and payment systems.
