I just say a saw a prediction by one of the biggest banking and investment company Goldman Sachs that Nigeria will be the fifth biggest economy in the world in 2075. They are projecting that Nigeria economy will be worth about $13.1 trillion making it one of the biggest economy in the world.

For me Nigeria has the ability to accomplish this in the next fifty year if our leaders put some things in place. The first move is to make the country safe by stopping criminal activities like kidnapping, herdsmen and terrorist attacks. Another important factor will be constant power supply which will boast local production of goods. Lastly, if corruption is reduced to a some extent, it will also make the country achieve this projections in fifty years.

In the next fifty years, some of us done old but it still make sense make our children flex the country. Wetin you think about this projection wey this ogbonge company talk?

It is possible for Nigeria to have one of the best economy by then, that's only if we can have good set of leaders by then. I can agree even before now Nigeria had a good economy that our currency was very valuable all over the world , so of this happens I don't think I will be surprised.  The country has a very good resources to have one of the dine economy in the world.  The problem of Nigeria economy challenge is poor management.

Why do a 50 years speculation when you're certain we can't even relate the effect of what we're doing now to what will happen at that time? In the next 50 years, at least 50% of those that are in power now must have died and all the policies they've set out now would have probably died with them since it's obvious we don't take the issue of succession of power seriously.

When you're doing 50-year speculation, you should be doing it concerning what you can control or your personal life and not a random economic issue that relates to the whole of Nigeria in general. Even when you're doing a 50-year growth speculation, it's even best you break it down into intervals of like 4 to 5 years and then set out what you should have achieved by the end of such time so it can serve as a guide that you're on track.

As a nation, I doubt we have anything like a yearly plan or four-year goal that's workable and that we can point at to say this is what we're hoping to achieve economically and this is how far we've gotten because of our economic policies. If we don't have such a thing in place and we aren't working to actualize any real thing but only setting out budgets upon budgets that are only used in carrying out projects that are not even helping us economically, then it's difficult to believe any speculation anyone is making.

And then, Anyone can choose to say whatever he wants to say and give his reasons for such speculation and you can't really make a thing out of it except you want to assume him to be a magician.

I agree with dat prediction bro, but if all those old men continue to lead d country, I don't think in 100 years Nigeria can b d biggest economy in d world because ur leaders don't have d capacity to establish all those resources dat will make all those things to come to reality in d country, but if dey give d opportunity to youths to lead, I guess those prediction will come to pass before 2075, because dey will do things dat will make d economy to boost up to reach dat level, I no God has blessed Nigeria with natural resources dat can mak Nigeria economy as a savour to other countries, but some of ur leaders has turned Nigerian economy to be  among d lowest in d world today.

Goldman Sachs talk say wetin go propel the economy to boost to that point nah the fact say the population go dey large and young and also get the potential for growth of the agricuture and energy sector.
This nah just capping and nothing else. You rightly point out say these things go be wishful thinking and mere predictions if the government no put the necessary tools in place to foster growth.
Them mention other countries like China say e go overtake the US in terms of world power and that fit dey feasible as we know how powerful the economy of the Chinese dey, and this nah because the leader choose to put the betterment of the country first.
The corruption in Nigeria dey too much and the leaders dey always find every little opportunity to milk funds so if such a mentality still dey, e go hard even if them give the country economy a century to take bounce back.

We have the capacity in terms of human and natural resources to become a world class economy in the future but with the style of leaderships that we have in Nigeria, it can be a stumbling block to achieve this aim. Different administrations that have come and gone including the present one have not shown the willingness to give us good governance that will be a roadmap to becoming among the biggest economies in the next 50 years. With all the potentials that Nigeria, have, without putting infrastructures on ground and stop depending on foreign economies for our goods and services we will never attain the greatness that Goldman Sachs, is speculating. Actions speaks louder than words, if our present and future administrations will not be proactive that will bring a paradigm shift in this country, then in the next 50 years this country will be worse off than it is today.

Looking at this from a mathematical point of view, I'm made to understand that Nigeria's economy (i.e GDP) is currently worth $252.73 billion in 2024, of which if we are to achieve such GDP in 51 years time (i.e in 2075), then it simply means our country just need to target an extra additional $252.73 billion GDP net-worth yearly for the next 51 years, since the predicted GDP is 52 times our current economy (i.e $13.1Trillion / $252.73Billion = 51.8 approximately 52 times). Which means for Nigerian to be able to achieve such, we need 52 times of our current GDP.

However, I was able to Google Dubai's GDP in 2000s (i.e $104.34billion) and it's current GDP now in 2024 (i.e $527.80billion), which happens to be 24yrs later, and what I could noticed was that they was able to double their GDP only 5 times in 24yrs, which means if Dubai with its less corruption was only able to double its GDP 5 times in 24yrs, it will take like 300yrs for Nigeria to be able to double its GDP in 51 times just as predicted by the news website above..

World's biggest economies in 2075, projected by Goldman Sachs:

Omo nothing dey bad say we project something good to happen for the country in the next 50 years, but the impact of some of this figures might not be seen in the lifes of Nigerians, why I'm saying so is because during the time of President Goodluck Jonathan, it was alleged that Nigeria was one of the fastest growing economy in Africa, and they quoted figures to backup their claims as at then, but Nigerians where arguing that, they where not feeling the impact of that economic boom.

One of the major thing we can put in place to make sure some of these economic projections comes into fruition, is to fix our electoral system, because it is the only system that will help enthrone good leadership into our country, because if we continue with this sort of leadership of fixing Square pegs in round holes system, it will definitely not take us anywhere.

Nice to hear all these but why projections and speculations all the time yet nothing to show improvement or any sign of achieving such objections. We hope for Nigeria to become a better place, country and a comfortable residence for the citizens but requires a lot of necessary actions.

Nigeria is blessed with everything we need to acquire as stated even not in the nearest 50 years but it's a must if we remain consistent improvements then we can surely achieve all that.

I have that faith that all this mess we are in now will surely come to an end and Nigeria will be great again, but the possibility of it coming true is very small because if we continue with this system of governments we will find it difficult but if there is change in system of government it's possible because all those deals that our leaders have sign can be protected if not those agreements they made are very huge one, just of recently I watched a video analysing the conditions that are put in place when Nigeria went to take loan from West it very terrible, is it that our leaders don't have any options or it means they don't really care because those conditions are so tough,

For those that posted that they still believe the system can work good and Nigeria would have a good economy. I hope you see what is going on in Nigeria. It was how we predicted it.  You can see the government are not capable of making this country great. See how the regulators handles crypto exchanges and other sectors. These are enough reasons you should know that we would remain in many years back than the present year. 'E go better' is like our motto. Is it better now since decades?

I just say a saw a prediction by one of the biggest banking and investment company Goldman Sachs that Nigeria will be the fifth biggest economy in the world in 2075. They are projecting that Nigeria economy will be worth about $13.1 trillion making it one of the biggest economy in the world.

We all know that if not for bad leaders and incompetent government, Nigeria has the possibility to become one of the fastest growing economy in the world because we got everything to make us great but I doubt if we can still achieve this because after Nigeria was declared as the fastest growing economy in Africa under the then former president Goodluck Jonathan administration, as soon as he left office the economy became stagnant and i continue saying is it that we lack good economic team in the recent administrations because you can agree with me that regardless of the fact that corruption was very high during the Jonathan administration, but we had good economic team as at then hence the economy of the country experienced immense growth.

2075 is about 51 years from now which is a very long time so predicting the economy of the country when what are seeing now doesn't even look like there's gonna be a change anytime soon really sounds ridiculous unless our leaders starts making a change now and do things accordingly to better the country because with this current economic state of the nation, I doubt if such predictions will become real because if they are to make predictions on how the economy will be in 2075 they should analyze what is obtainable now to predict how the economy will be in the future instead of raising a dead hope.
