Why did I start this topic? I experienced this myself, and so are my friends who are into gambling, and I'm sure many of you did too.

We have been advocating for responsible gambling in this forum, but there will be a time or circumstances when you lose control. When I lose control of my bets, I usually run out of money for my family's budget, which results in financial difficulties I have to take a loan to cover expenses.

Also, one of my friends suffered from heart palpitation because of overexcitement from long hours of playing; in my case, I sometimes felt a headache even though I won from over-excitement that I carried even in my sleep, which is why I limit myself from betting on horse races, I replace it with betting in a lottery, sometimes you gotta do what you have to do to combat the bad effects of too much gambling.

So I ask each and everyone What are the other bad effects of gambling that make you stop or limit how you play?

Excess of everything is generally bad.

I've had serious migraine because I stayed too long on my mobile device. Same way not even doing anything at all could pose a serious threat to your mental health. Some people who have played several games for so long time but never won at all eventually win and almost run mad in the process, others have won the jackpot and fainted when they saw the amount they've won. It's what happens when we're too much into something or we experience something that's I've our normal expectations.

Responsible gambling solves the majority of these kinds of possibilities. If you're not being too aggressive with the time you're putting into gambling and the amount you're using at each instance, you won't get mental health issues because you're doing too much. The role of being moderate in all the things we do can't be overemphasized. You've got to moderate how much time you gamble and make it compulsory that for each gambling session, you aren't going above a particular timeframe.

As I've said many times before, it just kind of blows my mind that so many of you have experienced these gambling issues dealing with your health or your money situation.  I'm just glad or perhaps lucky that I've never been in this type of situation and been able to control how much spending /gambling that I am doing.  I certainly wish people the best when it comes to this stuff as I know it can't be fun having a gambling addiction.

I've not experienced any lose of sleep or over gambling either, I guess that I mentally cautioned myself after my first ever gambling. I was quit young and a guy was doing scratch and win football, I exhausted the little money that I had while trying to scratch and win the ball, yet I didn't. After that incident I made a decision to have a budget for gambling and I've kept to that promise till date, so I think that having a gambling budget and being disciplined to stick to it can help to avoid over gambling and lose of sleep. I believe that a major factor to avoid gambling addiction is to have a budget that will be the amount that you can afford to loose and discipline to be a responsible gambler.

I have one health problem I always notice after I have gambled for a very long hours, the problem is with my eyes as I begin to stop seeing my screen clearly as they become blurry. Too much screen time results to eye problems and this is what gambling online has caused. Everything has an advantage and disadvantages and having eye problem is one of the problem of gambling online. Many online gamblers have eye problem and the rate will be increasing as more people are picking interest in gambling online due to the safe side it has. If you win a big amount when gambling online, you can hide it without other people's knowing but you would likely celebrate if you win it in a tradition casino which is a physical casino. If you do not celebrate, people workings there can tell others about your victory then your security is no longer guaranteed as you might be targeted. I also notice headache and I think this is because of using our eye for too long on the screen.

You make a good and quality posts always and I respect that a lot since I was a newbie. Not that I want to correct you but I just want to point to the fact that gaming and gambling are not the same. They are different because there are games that are not even on gambling sites although all games can be made for gambling purpose. The distinct difference between them both is that you can be gaming and not use money for it which is not gambling but games that requires money is gambling. So you are taking about gambling and not gaming.

First, lose money from the family budget in gambling, and then take on debts so that there is money for current needs? However, you have high financial literacy.

Maybe you should set a limit on the amount of money you can afford to lose and not borrow money. Debts require repayment.

Thanks for the correction, but I was referring specifically to games where funds are required for participation. For example, in lotteries or roulette, neither one nor the other brings me luck. I'm trying because, after reading a lot of success stories here, I'm starting to get very interested. However, so far, everything is a miss. And I am shocked that people are ready to make money from gambling, since, in my limited experience, I lose more. I will not go where it isn't easy—bookmakers, for example—but simple games will one day work for me.

That's happens to many gamblers so you don't have to feels sad because you are not alone. It's normal to see you will lose your money when you lose control in gambling and you may use your family's budget to keep playing gambling. Gambling can tempts you easily and return to the casino after you have money so that's why you must not lose control to avoids that problem. You will do many ways to have the money even if that's from loan but that will not good idea because you must give back the money to the lender immediately.

After effects of gambling in your health and pocket can be bad because you will not have any money left in your pocket while you will gets a high tension because you lose that money. Your health will becomes worst and more serious when you can not leave gambling and still wants to playing gambling. Headache is something that you will feels especially when you lose the money but that will not stops you from playing gambling. It just shows that you have total control of yourself, or to an extend, you are not really into gambling to make money, you play and that's it, set a certain budget and if you lose, no pain what so ever with you, financially and mentally.

Not everyone can become a gambler, if gambling doesn't affect your health and pocket, it means you're eligible to become a gambler.

Gambling is just for entertainment, how gambling can be fun when it make you sick? and how can gambling can be fun when you don't have enough money to pay bills?

That's why you need to be rich if you want to gamble without thinking about your monthly spending, or at least a middle upper class.

This thread is way above the number of posts and comments that you stated to have this thread locked, I don't know why you changed your mind on locking the thread so for that I have the chance to pen down my own contribution on this topic, well gambling have only positive response on my health most especially my mental health, since I gamble most times just to ease off some stress.


Much more also gambling for me is a thing of fun so since I don't have too expectations on my gambling I don't feel negatively bad about it outcome most time.

So far I don't think I have ever experienced any significant negative impacts caused by my involvement in gambling, I have never experienced problems making ends meet as a result of losing in gambling, and I am sure that anyone will never experience something as bad as that since First of all, they understand and know what and how gambling actually is. But if not, in the sense that if you don't have any understanding about gambling then I think it is clear that various bad impacts will await you, and as for the impact, there are quite a lot, the point is that it can destroy all aspects of your life including your health too.

Therefore, this is why most of us on this forum, fellow gamblers, always advise that it is better to treat gambling in moderation, there is nothing wrong with gambling and it is also not a problem if you have the intention to get involved in gambling as long as you are able to control yourself. and managing your money well, the main thing we have to understand is realizing that gambling is a risky activity, and by maintaining awareness regarding this I think it is unlikely that a gambler will experience bad problems in his life due to gambling.

As an Inter fan, I sincerely hope that the new management of the Oaktree and Giuseppe Marotta manage to keep Inter strong and competitive and that they manage to remove that debt that negatively affects the decision to make new signings and not to always follow the zero-cost market line, you don't always find champions in the lists of released players

I agree with you because when things are not done better , money is always needed, and Inter is a team that has proven to be the best for two consecutive years, and it clearly makes you feel a bit helpless that they cannot strengthen themselves due to lack of money, and I consider that now Italian football needs a lot of Investment , from their local teams they need it to improve their football, which for me is very good, but clearly they need more so that in world-class competitions like their National team they can go further, and if the Problem is money , then at this Point there should be no Debts or anything, the Sponsoring companies should pay Attention to these things.

Good decision, put yourself as a connoisseur of gambling and not as a gambling addict.
I also do the same thing and don't get too lustful to place too big bets or make a big deposit for a game of gambling,

For you to have such a problem because of gambling then you must be a chronic gambler who spends at least 12 hours a day gambling. You know I can imagine how much you have spent so far gambling. However, back to the matter i don't think it is possible to have an eye effect just because you gamble all the time. People i can think of to be possible are those who works online and if you are in the category of all those persons then that is the reason for the eye issue and not gambling specifically.

Another cause can be an addiction to the use of devices. People who are addicted to social media, movies, and games can easily get these eye issues too.

For me personally, the bad impact is just about pocketing or losing all the savings I have ever experienced, and also losing all the salary money I have. With that said, I've never had a case where gambling has had an adverse impact on health. Because after all, the most important thing to maintain health is just about eating regularly because at least,  if you don't have a regular diet it will make you dizzy or all kinds of things that will disturb your health. What's more, you're under stress or high pressure because of gambling.

But about financially getting worse it was also because at that time I could not control gambling but at least, after reading a lot on this forum about responsible gambling with control and other things. So at least it makes me able to be better when betting although indeed, it is difficult to make more wins than losses, but at least we are able to control ourselves in gambling when winning and also when losing.

Would really be just that normal that on the moment that you are already losing which is really that hitting up that threshold you do have or simply with your budget then it would be just that normal
or fine that you should really be that quitting or completely stopping on doing it. Usually people wont really be that mindful about this aspect but instead of stopping they would really be that playing even more.
Gambling isnt really that bad as long you do make yourself that responsible and mindful on the things that you should gonna do. On the time or moment that you do find yourself having that kind of
impulsive feeling then better you should refrain or taking up some break on playing gambling because on the moment that you do have that lost control then things becomes even more worst.

Stopping on dealing up with things like gambling wont really be just that limited into this manner but also in other aspects or things in life on where if it already that compromises your life savings and with your
health then it would be better that you should completely get rid of it. People do usually stop and quit on the moment that they had suffered too much already.Whereas, they could really be

There are no bad effects of gambling that I experience because gambling with some types of games that I like, I play with a certain target. If the money I have allocated for gambling that day is gone I will stop.

At least until now it still applies in the sense that I can still sleep soundly even though I lose, it is not certain that later I will be like this because I cannot control myself like now. If that happens, I will tell my experience and bad effects on a similar topic like this.

Everyone may not have the same feeling or behaviour about gambling but the most important thing is that it will be better of every gambler can understand their limits and gambling lifer style. If we only concentrate only on how money should be won in gambling and not considering about our reactions in gambling. When we gamble and we feel in a certain way that can run one down emotionally, I think it is better to stop playing. 

It is so unfortunate that most gambler don't even give attention to themselves about their feeling on gambling.

For me I just like to gamble with amounts I consider tiny so I don't have to worry about losing even when I lose all my deposit.

If it can't affect my life negatively then wins are a nice bonus. Of course they won't change my life either unless I win like 100.000x. Or something but still the thrill of gambling is there.

Setting s limit on how much you will spend is vital though so potential negative effects don't spill out on the other aspects of your life. In the end this is valuable also.
