How to mine merit as a beginner

Mining is a technical action, it's brute-forcing a string untill the hash of said string is under a certain value... Merit is a record in bitcointalk's database. The two have nothing in common.
It's like asking if you can grow potatoes to hear some nice music.

If you want merit, just forget about merit and engage in the community. Learn, make friends, talk, make good posts... Merits will come sooner or later.

This is just how to go about it. The goal shouldn't be about merit but about having a good time here while sharing one's knowledge, making valuable contributions to the discussion going here and basically once again just having a good time without thinking so much about the merits. They'll come.

You even found out the merit token as well. Hahaha, now I am confused, that which merit OP is talking about. I think he is talking about the merit system of BTT as lovesmayfamilis has mentioned some of his threads where he asked about merits so, its the merit system of BTT not some merit coin.

I would love to share my ideas with OP of how he can get merits but, for the start, I will say be active in the local thread because local members will support him, and guide him more. And with time he will be getting merits from international members as well. It's just a matter of remaining active and contributing. But keep in mind, sometimes you don't get merits why? I can't tell for sure maybe the thing you are writing, is already written or is too old that nobody is interested to talk about it anymore.

I am also a beginner and there is still a lot to learn on this forum, but when it comes to merit, as far as I know merit cannot be mined, merit is given to someone provided that the post must be of good quality and not contain plagiarism. purely from our own knowledge, and there are many more merits that we can get by taking quizzes that provide merit, in this forum there are lots of threads that hold quizzes like that, as long as we explore as often as possible, and prioritize increasing our knowledge if we wish. To increase our rank faster, All ranks who have reached a high rank here must all start from the bottom as long as we are consistent with what we are currently doing

Newbies are not without the drive to rank up.. That first merit (and then continously getting it)... But merit getting is a quest that's just there no matter the rank ( mostly lower ranks that's not always included for a campaign)..

You have asked this type of question before, and many members have replied to your post by giving you answers on how merit is earned. So, I wonder why you are asking a similar question again, just phrased differently. Maybe it seems you didn't go through the replies given to you on the post.

I want to advise you, and I hope you take this advice: Don't be too eager about earning merits in the forum. If you are, you may find it very difficult to get them, especially as a newbie, because I don't think you have much to contribute to the forum yet. Just try to stay calm and learn well before thinking about merit. When you have proper knowledge and you contribute quality posts continuously, you will be surprised how your posts will start receiving merits from different members. It's all about quality posts, but the truth is that your posts will hardly be of quality when you are still a newbie.

This first time I hard about mining a merits in this forum and since I been in this forum I never see or hard from any users that they want to mining a merits, the only thing I know you only earned merits  which stand as your rewards, but still depends on your post quality and I can see you've earned 2 merits already.

Merit is subjective sometimes, some forum members gives merit not because you the knowledge but sometimes impression, anyone can give you merit if they see you do the right thing, they can give you merit when you call their attention to something they failed to remember, they can give you merit for giving them hints and you can even get merit for making a submission of posts or even contests, you can even get question for asking questions and many more.

Just be yourself and contribute to the forum, you wouldn't have problem about merit as many people do complaint about. There are local boards where people don't visit most often yet these boards all has dedicated merit sources where merit can be gotten easily yet they complain everyday about not having merit or the system been bias to them and on and on continuesly.

A newbie should know that’s not how it works here, a user’s view on your post determines if you’re going one merited or not and you shouldn’t take anything personal if you receive good praises on your post and not merited because it’s by choice and you’ll get them as at when due and least expect it.

For now, newbies should try and focus on understanding how bitcoin works and know the rules here in the forum instead of looking deeply into what is not suppose to be technically looked for and comes naturally here in the forum by other users.

Follow forums with discussions that you have mastered, then everything will work out by itself. There is no need to rush to collect Merit, Merit will come if you are worthy. some threads can help, and that's part of your efforts.

Merit is not mined, you can get merit by your own post if it is quality or informative even members of this forum benefit from it. Usually if a post is informative and educational then the quality of that post is judged and merit is given as an award.
If you are so keen to earn merit then try your best and even try to attract and teach other members through your posts. Refrain from resorting to dishonest means to acquire merit because it is wrong to seek merit from anyone.

You’ve got to understand something here mate and am sure someone must have told you, you don’t get to mine merit. Show your unique qualities by being very informative or even asking intelligent questions which is very much not the type you’re asking now on how to mine merit. Ask questions that could be developed upon, could lead to solving some real problem, lead to research or make people think.

Yes I agree, from what you said about merit you can get it from anywhere. there are no exceptions and there are no restrictions on who gives and who is given, the most important thing is that here in this forum I learn a lot about something important. For me it's simple, if I get a merit, it's a bonus from what I think and express it in this forum, because if I focus too much on pursuing merit, it will mess up my mind.

Merits are earned and not mined, if you ever taught of mining merit then it must be a very wrong information as such isn't possible on the forum here, what's most applicable is getting to earn it by quality and very educative post and not by mining for every two merits you get, the forum gives you an extra called s-merit(send able merit)so that is the merit you too can reward someone with if the eventually make a post that really got your attention and is beneficial to you, same applies to them, if they have got some s-merit before now, if you make a very impressive and quality post, they too will reward you with s-merit too which will add up to be the number of merits you have but your s-merits can not be seen and counted as the number of merits you have.

If you've got into the system with the hope of gaining more knowledge, why do you care about merits and how they are "mined"? You don't need to worry about merits or ranks or anything if you are here for the knowledge, just focus on gaining as much knowledge as possible and don't worry about other things at all.

By the way, merits are not mined but they are received from other members for quality and constructive posts that you do around the forum, and since you are a newbie and most probably don't know much about the forum or even the industry, your primary motive should be to learn as much as you can before you start looking for merits unless you have been guided to join the forum, gain merits, and start earning money from here, that isn't how it works.

So, my advice to you is to leave these things for now, surf the forum, read as many posts as you can, and learn from them. You don't even need to make posts initially, that's not a requirement, do it only when you think it is needed and that you can do it efficiently.

I don't find the suggestion of other people as form of attack or abuse. But rather a valid opinion and suggestion regarding on what's their take towards what OP asked in this thread. If they feel bad with the suggestion posted then I guess there's something wrong with their personality. Maybe they should think about approaching it on positive ways since with that for sure they can learn. But if they feel bad and go away then its their loss for deciding not to continue.

People just need to understand the post of people and sometimes they need to accept criticism on the question they asked. That's part of the process and people should learn to accept correction so that they could learn more better.

Initially I was confused by reading the title of the this topic but after which I have to understand you are saying the way to earn merits from the forum, anyway there is no special effects towards earning merits here than just being active and show some relevance to post that needs urgent attention by providing solution to what they wanted. I don't really know the reasons why you decided to join this amazing forum and what you intend to achieve but I want you to understand that they don't mine merit. Merit is given to people that really deserve when they write good which deserves to be merit. You can only get merit from people that have it and are ready to give you so you don't need to be in a rush to get merit. You need to be consistent for you to be getting merited especially when you write good and interesting posts. You don't need to in a rush but rather to keep doing things that would make you to gain more understanding about the crypto space.
