I started gambling only when I felt ready, all the days of my life living under my father's roof I have always been warned by him to never go near gambling, in my family few people turned into gambling addict and it ruined their lives, till now they are not balanced yet.

Now that my father is no more I've promised myself to never allow such thing to happen to me, I started gambling with the mind that I will never get addicted, I believe this is why till now I've not fallen victim to any addiction, i prefer to quit gambling either I win or not, once I reach my limit I am taking my leave.

I think there is nothing to get improve about in the gambling space, the preparation and development won't stop you from losing money anyway, strategy and technics? These will only get you fooled into thinking that you can handle it all.

Later I ended up lowering the time I spent on gambling activities and I have felt better since then, I pity people who are new to gambling, that spirit of ' I want to hit it big' will take over your mind and God helps you, if you don't fight this battle first you could end up losing yourself.

Not today, but over the years I have changed.  When I played poker there was a time when I improved as a player. As for casino games, fortunately, instead of ending badly, over time I have been gambling less frequently, always with money I could afford, and knowing how to stop in time.

Can i ask what concrete measures you took not to get addicted? Because that's not something people can really choose. You can "choose" what measures to take, if you know how your addiction would get triggered, but we are rarely consciously aware of that process in our minds. Behavioral addiction like gambling addiction is harder for us to realize or understand as it's happening in brain chemistry.

it ain't quite easy planning for a loss, that's why it is adviced to play with amount that won't hurt you emotionally this is to prevent impulsive actions.
