How has a significant win in gambling changed your life?

When I started gambling a few years ago, I won a pretty big amount of money and that opened new doors for me to pursue new business ventures. Some of these ideas panned out and some flopped miserably, but I still managed to generate some money from the the ventures that were successful.

I now have something that can generate some "passive" income and something that needs a lot of my time and attention, but overall it improved my quality of living and it encouraged me to follow my dreams.

I still gamble, but not as much as I did before... because time management has become an issue. This will not secure my retirement, but it gives me some freedom to experiment with more ideas. (I still need to work between 8 to 10 hours per day.... and weekends, but I have something to fall back on, if something bad happens)

That is a good story, however I cannot really empathize as I have never really got any kind of big win, and this is because the amount of money I bet is very low, so on the instances in which I have won, I do not really receive a massive amount of money or anything like that, still it is interesting to read the stories of those that have gone through this process and obtained benefits out of it, as it is often the case that those that have obtained a big win eventually lose it all anyway.

If you do not have time to gamble, that is not bad. There are some people in life that are so busy and not having time to gamble. My time are mostly filled up with work and sleep as I rarely have time. I gamble just one or two times in a week when I am relaxing. Gambling is for fun but if you do not see it as fun, then do not gamble.

As for me I have won money from gambling which can feed me for weeks or months but I have not won the money that I can use to establish a business. I am not even looking for money to establish a business from gambling, neither am I looking for money that can feed me for weeks or months from gambling.

I can say I made significant profits from gambling but not enough to start a business of my own, but only to feed me days or weeks which I think is still a good thing. So until now I'm still into gambling hoping to end up with a big win someday and make it as a starting point to realize my dream and make it happen. But I make sure that I stay responsible with my gambling expenses so as not to lose more than I am comfortable of losing.

Yes, and indeed that is the best thing that all gamblers should do when they win, namely to use the proceeds from their winnings for whatever they need in life, for example to fulfill everything they need at that time. There is nothing better than just that decision, because if you don't move quickly to cash out and use it, then of course there is a possibility that you will suffer the same fate as other gamblers who end up losing all the money they have previously won.

I'm still looking for that significant win that will change my life, but it's elusive. The biggest win I got was when I bought a new motorcycle. My winning is a big blessing, but it is not something that will change your life like what you have shown us.
But in case I win a significant amount, I know what I will do with every cent of that winning, as I already handle big money from investing in Bitcoin, but it will be better this time.

Like most of the commentators on this topic, I have not been one of the lucky ones to win large sums of money every time I have tried my luck throughout my life. I do not deny that I tried to achieve this a few times, but it was for the sake of entertainment and nothing more. I mean, I couldn't believe that my life would change with a small bet of no more than $20.

At the same time, I have witnessed on a few occasions how someone's life turned rich simply by winning a bet. The amount may not have been considered large if the winner had been in one of the major industrialized countries, but the amount of 15-20 thousand euros is capable of changing the life of any person for the better in any of the developing countries.

It is a legitimate dream for every player, but it is not a goal in itself for everyone who practices gambling. I have seen many cases here in the forum announcing profits with imaginary numbers, and many times I doubted someone’s story until proof was provided, because some platforms advertise themselves by announcing fake profits.

Not that I have not had huge multipliers but the bet I get big multipliers are usually played with small money, hence the win become very small and insignificant. I hope I really win significant amount one day.

Anytime that significant win comes, my target is to use it and establish a business that can be generating profit from me, this way I will have enough funds to finance my gambling and do other stuffs. The last thing I will do is to give the money back and instead of that, I am ready to stop gambling until the business is established. Maybe you're careful, but there are people who will set out to find significant way in gambling that will change their life and they will find themselves gambling for money and no longer for some kind of fun. some of these people may even get so fixed on the idea that they can make a life changing amount from gambling, and they carry gambling as a career. Good to have stories like these. Gamblers who knew better than to give the money they won back to the casino one way or another, and actually doing something with the money they won that could better their lives. If only every gambler thinks this way but no, every other buffoon out there thinks they can catch their big breaks inside the casino, when what they should be doing is actually busting their asses out there to find a work that suits every facet of their lives.

So yeah, this also goes without saying that you shouldn't look into gambling as a means of profit, nor should you look for it as your golden ticket to a better life. It's a massive miracle and a luck of the draw that OP won such an amount but I reckon that everyone out here wouldn't be as lucky as him. Gamble for entertainment and nothing else. If the jackpot comes in then great, but don't expect it at all. Keep a level head when you play and don't be stupid.

This is a frequent question and I think that the people who had a very big and positive impact on their life are very far and few so it's kind of a pointless question.

If someone won big in gambling and are willing to speak they've probably already done so. You can look at the documentaries about lottery winners for instance and decide for yourself if it's worth pursuing the astronomically low odds of winning big in a lottery for instance. To try and find similar cases here isn't worth the effort in my honest opinion because there's going to be only a few people and likely none among here. So what's the discussion going to be? Makebelieve?

Now that I think about it, making a discussion about a hypothetical win would be more interesting because at least people could be more true to themselves and say what they actually think.

My first big win in gambling didn't end up well; I became greedy and wagered it again for weeks with a desire to make it bigger but ended up losing everything. That was around $3k which I won on slots. Good thing is that I learned something. I switched to sports betting and limit myself from betting big amounts. I also made it a habit to secure the profit whenever I am winning. My second big win is around $5k and it is still on my savings, I don't gamble that much as well unlike with before. I learned it the hard way that winning won't be always on our side thus we should be knowing our boundaries.

Gambling is a temporary happiness, you can only find that satisfaction through affections coming from peers who loved us particular with our family and close friends. Money came from gambling isn't eternal, and what's essential was peace of mind and love.

It's just sad to hear other people stories that after they won huge amount of money they used to live to the fullest without knowing that their lives have been broke because of that money. There's a story of a man I've known in my place who've got the jackpot but ended up worst in the end, he let his health gone bad as he enjoyed his winnings for several travels and without even caring of himself. However, his family got his fortune but it went nothing as he left this world with history.

man I'll say, you must have been very lucky to beat the odds of securing a win and being productive with it. It doesn't happen in every story; someone out there is looking for an opportunity to subdue the urge of wagering away their winnings for everytime it comes, yet it becomes a big problem and even when they're winning frequently, they don't have any success story.

If I had ever had any big wins that went back to the casino, I did partially be happy and proud that atleast, sometime in the past, Ive had a big win that I didnt manage well; and as a result, I lost it back to the casino.
But unfortunately here as from way back I started gambling till today, I've never won any amount of money I could say is tangible or substantial, all my winnings have always been in few tens of dollar, only ones have I won amount in a few hundreds of dollars, which if I still remember well, was around $230, this has been my highest win in gambling.

Though to be honest with you, I am not a frequent gambler, I only gamble once in a while, and this once in a while simply means that sometimes and periods, I can go for several months without gambling, so, this is possibly the reason why I may not have encountered a substantial win.

Of course everyone hopes that a big win will happen and happen to them, but this is very difficult to happen, I gamble the same as you with small amounts so the winnings obtained are also small by adjusting the amount of bets made. Good hope, but unfortunately almost a small portion of gamblers in today's era of advanced technology can't control themselves when getting big wins and must end up with regret after turning himself into a greedy. Many cases a gambler gets big wins but wants to get even bigger outcomes but the fact is he loses all his wins.

Actually anyone could really be that able to do such thing. It would really be just that depending into someones self control and moderation in regarding about into their winnings on which if you are someone
who do really loves gambling or simply being greedy then you would really be definitely be playing even more or going further. You wont really be thinking about securing those winnings or making withdrawals

I have never won any big prizes from gambling. Until few years ago I had a positive gambling history, with more winnings than losses, but nothing extraordinary to start a business or a passive income investment. It ended that I hit the feared long term in gambling and my profits turned into losses from that day on. Then I retreated from my gambling activities because I didn't want to lose more than I had already lost.

But if I had the opportunity to win a jackpot I would definitely start a new investment with the prize won. It would really depend on the sum. If it was something really impressive, I would buy a property, but if it wouldn't be enough, to buy some assets or keep the money invested in BTC is the answer. It's a pitfall most gamblers fall into. Don't feel bad and blame yourself in case you're put in that position; you won't be the first one nor the last one to blow your winnings away. Withdrawing and leaving your initial deposit is sometimes the best strategy for retaining your earnings. I'll deposit $40, put them towards a football game, win $60, withdraw these, and leave the initial $40 intact. So far, it has been the safest strategy I've come up with. If I end up losing my balance, I'll simply deposit back some of my earnings, it's inevitable.

I am not a gambler who can boast of big winnings, but yes, I am a fan of various lotteries. And those lotteries that I was lucky to win were spent on pleasure since I have the opinion that what comes easily can be easily spent.
