According to BlockBeats, on July 20, Nigerian cryptocurrency celebrity Linus Williams (Blord) was released on bail after being detained by police for three days.

Also know that this is not the first time this guy was arrested.

The issue between VeryDarkMan and him got him arrested. VeryDarkMan said he is not innocent and that he made money from online criminal activities. Maybe he is right or wrong, nobody knows. But it would have been better not to have such issue that can make people to be doubtful of the source of his money before he becomes rich.

This is one news that have been trending all social media since Monday this week when the news about "Blord" a tech, forex trader and Crypto guru got arrested by Nigerian police, of which accounting to rumours and the Police statement, it was said that he was arrested for aiding cryptocurrency, internet and computer related frauds, and funding terrorism, of which we all know this na normal formats our Nigerian police dey always use when they catch big fish, just as in the case of "Blord Linus Williams" who happens to be a billionaire. But however, what triggered his arrest according to information gotten from online was as a result of Blord failing to pay serious attention to his customer's complaint, as many have been reported of losing several money on his apps, and yet he seems to be putting little or no effect in resolving those issues. And it was after VeryDarkman made a petition against him about several customers who lost their money while using his app, that he was arrested. But however, I'm happy he is back freely.

I know everyone has the right to fluent his wealth whichever way he so please buy for B-lord, he attracted most of the negative attention he's currently getting due to the consistent flaunting of his wealth at any slight opportunity.

We know that he has some legitimate sources of wealth ranging from his normal trading platforms and apps like Jetpaye and Billpoint which can be easily verified as his primary source of wealth but with stories of him defrauding some people and knowing that he had early hard some fracas with the EFCC, it would have been in his best interest if he had lived a bit of low profile life. I'm not a fan of VDM and don't take his words seriously but from what he said at the time B lord was in Police custody, it appeared as though there were people who might have had a thing against him apart from the petition VDM sent to the police and even though he's been able to secure his release through whatever means, he's an obvious target and any form of a negative move from him will potentially bring him down.

Believe it or not, our security agencies and politicians don't understand how crypto users make their money and they don't even like it when youths are doing well financially. If you don't want to face this reality and make your money on a low key, they will fight you too hard and drag you down with time.

No be because of crypto na him police arrest d guy, na because of fraud case na y dem arrest the guy. I know say d government Dey against crypto, but dis guy own Dey different. Me self don see person wey use Blord application before wey him money hang ooo. It wasn't about him flaunting his wealth that got him arrested. He was petitioned by verydarkman that he is defrauding his customers through his online trading app. According to VDM, that Blord customers were sending him messages of failed transaction on the platform, so he decided to dm Blord and complain. Verydarkman issue with him was that he dm the guy and the responded and say him papa, that anyone who is having issues with the platform should go to their customers service at Asaba. The thing be like say Verydarkman get akpor for the guy. Blord as he is popularly known is not someone that usually flaunt his wealth and he wasn't arrested because of crypto currency trading. He was just invited for interrogation base on the petition that was written against him by Verydarkman.

I don’t know the type of criminal activity that he has used to make money that he might be referring to, but on the aspect of him mentioning unsatisfied customers on some of his payment apps, that guy and his team are not entirely clean.
 
I make use of his BillPoint mobile app for data purchases, and I have encountered error payments on up to three different occasions, and the money was not refunded. Their customer service is not helpful at all.
 
The last time I used the app, which made me delete it from my phone, was when I did a data recharge of about N3000+, two good times at different numbers, but one was credit and the other was not. After I filed a complaint, a few hours later, I logged back into the app to check that the money was not reversed to my balance, nor could I find that particular transaction in my transaction history.
 
When I went ahead to complain again, the support was not helpful at all. I had to send them a message on Meta, and after checking back the next 2 days, I still have nothing. I have to delete the app before I incur further loss, which many other unsatisfied customers have been complaining about.

Like Charles-Tim confirmed, he has been released since yesterday. The problem wasn't the fact that he, himself was indulging directly in criminal activities but the fact that criminals and fraudsters may actually be using his crypto platform to move and launder proceeds from illegal activities. IIRC, this was the same issue that FG had with Binance and other crypto exchanges because a fraudster might scam someone out of their hard earned money and use crypto platforms such as the one blord is offering to convert it to naira and Blord team will do very little to verify the funds as long as they get to make money due to rate difference.

I just see this act of our government as envy, does it really mean that Nigerian government hates innovation or anything coming crypto, sometimesi get confused about the happenings in this country, although most of the problem we are having in Nigeria is the citizens, there are whistle blowers that are ready to credence for bulshit, they go to report people or give false information to EFFC about some wealthy individual so that they will be paid at the end of the whole thing, many countries are embracing crypto to its fullest instead Njgerian government to join the queue, they are busy frustrating the technology, too bad.

it's obvious that our government don't won't the growth of the cizitens because there is nothing wrong here, this not only him being arrested most of the Bitcoin trades are also living in fear because of the police. Why do they always want the youths to look as if they're all doing fraud why, we are youths and they should know that this is another new universe not the old leg that they had before we got here. So they should change there thinking faculty to something good.
