It is really a big challenge now when people know you are a bitcoin owner especially in my part of the world where there is increasing hardship and people are fighting so hard to survive. Unlike before when it was popular to tell people about bitcoin and using oneself as example of holder who is doing well, people are very scared not to tell people they are involved in bitcoin because anyone known to be involved in bitcoin is seen as rich and therefore a prime target for both physical or only attack. So, I understand the aspect of keeping a low profile as a bitcoin investor and that is what most of us are doing.

You can of course do as you please, you don't have to take a thing from what anybody says. That being said, you should definitely get the car you want and live in the house you want, but you would be doing yourself a big favor if you spoke less of bitcoins, if you go around telling people you are a millionaire in bitcoin, it can attract attackers.

Owning a gun for protection cannot always protect you if you are outnumbered by your attackers and if they carry more sophisticated weapons. You can definitely buy all you want without showing it off, because if you decide to live a luxurious and "loud" kind of life, i am afraid you have to also pay for personal security.

If I live in a highbrow area where most of my neighbors are wealthy, I can use your expensive belongings without restrictions. But showing off your wealth in a poor neighborhood with a high crime rate will be risky even if you have a gun.

Another way most people expose themselves to danger is by showing off on social media. Some people will always showcase their latest acquisition on social media platforms. This can be very risky. Living a low-profile life, especially when you are using Bitcoin in a decentralized manner, can save you from criminal attacks.
