On July 22, 2024, the hacker who attacked the Indian exchange WazirX continued to process the tokens obtained in the previous attack. According to iChainfo (search.ichainfo.com) statistics, nearly two-thirds of the tokens on their addresses have already been transferred and processed, leaving less than $5 million worth of tokens remaining.
On-chain data shows that the hacker’s attack address 0x04b21735e93fa3f8df70e2da89e6922616891a88 transferred 15,290 Bitcoins obtained from the attack to address 0x58d3b2fd2ce20a7149244d7e34d18b9b55448e7a, while continuing to use four other addresses to process the large amount of tokens acquired.
As of July 22, out of the 200 types of tokens obtained from the attack, 124 have already been processed, mainly through decentralized exchanges like Uniswap. After converting the tokens to ETH, the hacker transferred all ETH to two new addresses, 0x668399a6604c41d46c81430e4dff71443d44efe6 and 0x361384e2761150170d349924a28d965f0dd3f092.

Since WazirX has contacted over a hundred global exchanges for cooperation, the hacker is finding it difficult to liquidate these stolen assets in a short period. The most likely method they may use is through services like Tornado Cash to obfuscate the funds before seeking to cash out. However, given the volume of the stolen funds, the hacker is expected to complete this process over a longer time frame.
For the three ETH aggregation addresses of the hacker, search.ichainfo.com has already set up monitoring within the platform to track any changes in the funds promptly.
