We live in a centralized world and the government is the one who manages everything, you should not expect that there will be some technology or power that can help us completely escape government control. The advent of bitcoin has given us increased privacy and it has been a huge success, but don't think it can help us escape government surveillance completely, it never will happen.

I have read a lot of news about the situation in your country and this is the first time I have seen the government impose a large-scale Internet shutdown at the national level. A satellite internet connection would be the best way to access the Bitcoin blockchain in oppressive countries like China and Russia. Starlink provides satellite internet service, albeit at a high cost. There's a more affordable solution called the "Blockstream satellite" which only transmits your BTC transaction to a network of nodes connected to the Internet (it doesn't give you access to the Internet itself, though). You can always use BTC offline via the use of cold storage wallets (eg: paper wallets) or physical bearer assets like the OpenDime or Tangem. You'd just hand in the physical item loaded with BTC to pay for goods and/or services. Just like how you would hand in paper money to someone else.

These kinds of transactions are completely off-chain. They won't be recorded on the Blockchain unless the sender broadcasts them online (making such transactions final). Governments will try to prevent people from buying/selling Bitcoin, but that won't stop anyone from trading in-person (Face to Face) or P2P. It's all thanks to Bitcoin's decentralized and censorship-resistant design. Otherwise, we would've been doomed by now.

And this protest became massive only because of internet and social media. And for this, our Dictators shut down the Internet Connection of the entire country for 5 days to turn the situation towards them. So there is actually a way called Kryptoradio where it turns the bitcoin transactions into radio waves somehow bypassing the internet. So technically as long as there is a way to broadcast that signal and in a crazy event like having the internet beilng down I think that miners would be forced to use this type of method, or another type of roundabout method like this to keep the blockchain running. Um that's called a packet radio modem and it takes a data connection and modulates a radio transmitter to send out the information. It has been around since at least the early 1960's when the data was mainly a teletype communication.... Thing is it only bypasses the LOCAL internet that is not working. There still needs to be a receiver somewhere in range (which can be several thousand miles) with a similar modem that IS connected to the global internet because pure and simple, using Bitcoin does require a connection to the global nodes.

You cannot have a stand-alone localized Bitcoin network. Closest thing to that is something like a (local) LN channel to aggregate local stuff which then only periodically needs connection to the BTC mainnet to put the TX's onchain.

But in situations like this, you can still get access to the internet through satelite or VPN to keep yourself updated or follow up your investment.

No Internet access is a huge issue. I would not be able to do most of my work and a huge chunk of communications without the Internet. And I would not be able to figure out how to access my BTC or transfer funds that I have in digital banking systems. Bitcoin would be on pause for me in that case, alongside most of my life.

If there were no pending transaction before this shutdown occurred then no problem, they will have to wait till the plaque is over. But If the Transaction is a selling Oder which has been placed in any of the exchange before this issue occurred, before that 5days intervals, it will surely have been sold to USDT. Then if it where to be P2P trade you imitated which fund has been sent to you and you haven't released asset before the shutdown, surely your client will file an appeal and the fund will be removed from you account by the exchange and paid to your client then when the shutdown is over then you can write a message to exchange explaining what led to the delay. The. For the satellite internet, am not awear about it.

That is very wired. We have not had this kind of experience in our country before, though we usually have internet issues sometimes but not a total blackout. It usually happens often but may be a geographical region internet shutdown but not the entire country. I believe the government reason to why they did so is because of the quota protest which leads to that, but as the case may be it will not only affect bitcoiners but will also affect government officials, because most of their activities which involve internet access will be affected. If I found myself in this situation I will have nothing to do because it's a national internet problem

Currently, no transaction in the BTC-network is possible without the Internet. If the Internet is disconnected or isolated (for example, in a certain region), neither accepting payments in bitcoin, nor P2P transactions will be possible. Therefore, the BTC-community should probably think about alternative ways to confirm BTC-transactions. With universal access to the Internet, the Internet network may be segmented \ isolated, or completely disconnected for an indefinite period of time, and in this case, btc becomes useless. I believe that for the complete independence of bitcoin (without this, what financial freedom can there be), bitcoin should have alternative ways to confirm transactions.

Satellite Internet connection is not a solution, because in some countries it is prohibited (for the purposes of Internet censorship) and you cannot completely rely on it.

This kind of topic about Bitcoin being able to survive if there is no internet connection or if Bitcoiners can cope if there is no internet connection was raised last week. We have not experienced such things in my country; even the government needs internet connection too, and because they do need it too, they cannot completely kill all the internet switches in their country.They themselves will have it allowed in their residential places. For example, when I was a kid, there's this politician in the village. Any time he visits home, there will not be a network or internet connection. According to the internet providers in my place, the politician usually tells them to turn off the internet so that people will not have a network to make calls and inform others that he is in the village.

I suppose that is an option.  But under such an attack on a much larger scale, I presume Satellites would not work either any more.  You would have no Cell Connection.  If that is the case, you are pretty much out of options.

One option would be to use Radio or alternative options that are not dependent on your local Cell Towers, Satellites or Internet Connection.  Bitcoin is barely even used normally, as in through Wallets.  People barely get to understand how it works.  In such a scenario I guess we would be out of luck because nobody else would even think of using Bitcoin through Radio or alternatives.  There are Applications that let you send messages through Bluetooth during a massive natural disaster, yet almost nobody knows of them.  So many of them unfortunately end up not being able to call for help.

Options exist.  It is just that they are too unknown and you would be lucky to find somebody closer than a few hundred kilometers from you who is using Bitcoin the same way you are trying to.

No internet access that is crazy because I only hear it from you even in ongoing war like Russian vs ukraine the internet service is still alive even tho is not 100%. But if that the case the only way is going via satellite connection. There is internet service provider like StarLink or other I believe.

But If the Starlink had government license it can be blocked too, so in this case all connection will be dead and the best option is to flee to other country

Mesh networks are created with a software you install on your Internet router, and the router will then be able connect to other routers in the surroundings, instead of only connecting with the ISP. This means that potentially your whole city can be connected this way, and it needs only a few nodes which are connected via satellite or other means to enable a connection with the rest of the world.

Since around 2010 already there have been many initiatives and some still work, mostly in European cities. The software is already quite mature.

In a densely populated country like Bangladesh it may even work that you could interconnect your whole country with this method, as there are strong WiFi antennas which can send and receive data to people more than 10 km away. And you could even connect to India: simply build a mesh network in a frontier city with your Indian brothers and sisters   (There seem to be no really big frontier cities unfortunately, which is bad for bandwidth, but even in a smaller city it would in theory work.)

Bandwidth would be always an issue in this situation, but to transmit transactions it would be enough. The mining sector in the country however would suffer, and also LN could be complicated.

If a country becomes isolated often from the Internet I can imagine business models for people in neighboring countries setting up receivers for this purpose, and could be paid in Bitcoin. Again the natural partners in the case of Bangladesh could be people from India, and I believe India should never be disconnected from the global Internet because computer technology is one of the country's main businesses.

This is what has happened here, the current government has been in power for 14 years, so even if they see a little movement, they are scared and want to suppress it. And now this movement has been suppressed in the initial stage, on the contrary, this movement has taken a larger form. As a result of which the Dictator government had no choice but to shut down the Internet and immediately issued a curfew.
And besides, our government has not officially given any idea about the specific number of dead, but some news 200 has been reported internationally. But in reality its number more than 500. And until today around 6000 students and protesters have been arrested.

In fact, the main business of the country does not depend on it. Depending on the governance system of that country, as far as I know, the democratic governance system is still in operation in India. Which does not allow the government to become a dictator. But the context of our Bangladesh is different, our ruling party has setup their close people in every sector from army to police through reservation quota in most sectors. And this is why our dictator is taking any decision at any time.
Currently due to shutdown of internet the main source of income of our country garment industry sector has been hit hard along with freelancing sector has also brought a big hit. But the point is that they don't care about what is happening in the country as long as they stay in power.
