These days, networking has been made easier with social media, where you can easily make a referral, and people on your contact list take it seriously based on the level of trust and reliability that they have for you.

If you make a referral and people who follow it are satisfied, their level of confidence and trust in you increases, and they value you more.

There is a need to be careful about the referrals you make, because some referrals are capable of ruining your image and the trust that people will have in you.

I have seen people question why bitcoin is still the first choice that is referred to new people in cryptocurrency who want to invest, and one reason for that is that bitcoin can be relied on when compared to other cryptocurrencies, especially the new ones, and you don't want to gamble with your referrals.

I know we always have to advise people to do their own research for any referral given to them, but still, you do not want to give someone a referral on some altcoin just for them to do their own research and find out that they just dodged a bullet.

Do not just refer to any cryptocurrency; refer to bitcoin when introducing a newbie to cryptocurrency.

When I First saw the thread title, my mind went straight to my experience with referral programmes where most many of them truned out to be negative and indeed this have effected my trust for those individuals who referred me to such a service, and since then I disliked anything referral and if I want to subscribe to any thing and it requires me to referred someone, I automatically have a negative feelings for such project's regardless of it importance to me at that moment.
I can still referr someone to bitcoin and still be comfortable doing so because I know what bitcoin stands for and it ability to perform even better at anytime, but same can not be said of other coins or projects because their existence can't be guaranteed on the long term base, bitcoin is not a crowd funding scheme so I don't need to be under a mandate to refere anyone, but if the person build interest in bitcoin, why not, I can conformably educate them on how best to secure their investment in bitcoin, but aside from bitcoin, I can't do same with any other coin.

Even if you suggest your friends, relatives, or random person to buy Bitcoin. You don't know what's on their mind. When they've bought and then BTC suddenly plummeted, you will take the blame from them. This has surely happened to many of us here and that's why even suggesting or referring people to buy Bitcoin, always put a disclaimer that it is highly volatile and you have no control over the market and its price. Because they might have that first glance and thought that you've just referred them and you earned money from them and then, the price goes down so as their losses. So, if you're going to tell someone to buy Bitcoin personally, make sure that they have understood every basics about it. When it comes to referring something useful, always go on known and reputable service,, where most users in the space have experience of using them and you can't go wrong with that. Of course, i only refer those things i personally experienced so i can give thoughts about it, also compiling negative reviews will give more results if you should go or not using them. Life has taught me that people do not usually like to share how they make money with others. This is not just my opinion but also common knowledge that people do not typically do things for free, there is always a catch. Well, I don't invite those who don't know much about Bitcoin and Bitcoin is the first thing that I introduce to my friends or family and before I refer them to other cryptos I first tell them that there's no 100% guarantee that they could receive airdrop by tapping or referring someone because some of them just created for marketing purposes and no real tokens.

You should only refer someone that you know believes you because if you refer someone that is new to crypto they might think that we are promoting a scam company but they don't exactly what is bitcoin or the crypto you are referring to.

I have yet to see somebody sending me a Referral link with out having sort of malicious intents.

By that I mean being subject of a Referral with out having to suffer particular consequences such as having to spend Money so the Referee gets their Bonus.  Particularly if most of the Referrals end up spending their Money once only to never use the Service again.  Pretty much all the Referral Links I ever received worked exactly like this.  Lure somebody in, have them spend Money unnecessarily, repeat.  For the Referred person to not end up being in a loss, they need to do the same and lure others in.

First of all, when you want to become an influencer, you need to consider moral principles. Think about it by yourself, and think of positive as well as negative effects you can bring to your followers.

I just commented on a post about telegram games and it's impact on bitcoin investment for people. And I've stumbled on this your post which I feel we can draw some parallel to. In this time when these telegram games are trending and people are looking for how to get money quick in cryptocurrency aside Bitcoin, the players of these games would rather refer their friends to sign up on these games to play and earn from cryptocurrency that is not Bitcoin other than Bitcoin. While these is happening is because it is "easy" for them to make money on these games than investing in Bitcoin and making money from it. However , in my own estimation referring someone to Bitcoin is easier when that individual has a skill that can be used to generate more Bitcoins should the person asks how can he earn more Bitcoin. So if the person has a skill you can simply tell the person that they can offer their and ask for payments in Bitcoin.

We must research for more to finds if that program can gives as their promise to their members so we don't lose trust from our friends. I completely agree with you and that's what I'm doing too. I don't introduce and talk about bitcoin to anyone, but if someone proactively asks me, I will not refuse, but what I will provide them is basic information and documents about bitcoin. I will refuse to answer immediately if he mentions asking me whether I should invest or not, or give him advice. Furthermore, I like to mention and emphasize the risks and losses they will encounter instead of talking too much about profits.
In my opinion, giving investment advice to others is like getting yourself into trouble, so instead give them the knowledge and let them make their own decisions.

Once I get a referral for anything from the internet or social media, I don't just dive into it until I have done my own research about the risks involved. Some people don't care about the risk they are putting others at when they refer them to any investment that will put liquidate their capital. What they are only concerned with is the profit they can get. Firstly I don't recommend anybody referring someone especially a newbie into the crypto space or Bitcoin rather. There is a huge difference between putting someone through in understanding bitcoin and refering them to bitcoin. If you observe closely you will notice that newbies are the ones that fall the most for things like hacks and scams simply because they are poorly orientated about the security of their funds as well as privacy which in fact is supposed to be the first thing a newbie should be made aware of.

The biggest downside to refering a newbie to Bitcoin is not dip rather it's the risk of losing funds that they are face with.
It's better a newbie show a learning interest in bitcoin then you proceed to giving him privacy and security awareness, than telling them the can make more money by buying bitcoin.

People like us that cherish our privacy have little to no interest in referral programs especially those that do not privacy a priority. Apart from this, there is a huge burden attached to referring someone that becomes a victim of any attack, this is why referrals is not fashionable to me. Finally, now that referral programs have become an integral part of MLM, many companies are going that direction and as expected, people with evil plans are not left behind. Therefore, we must be careful not to fall victim of phishing and other forms of hack and data breach that comes with clicking the wrong link or installing the wrong application.

Anyways, I find it very hard to ever communicate altcoins to people especially people who are new to crypto space as I feel a guit of misleading them one way or the other so I focus on bitcoin but that's only when they already have a background knowledge of what bitcoin is and really wants it then as one who has been educated a bit on BTC I can share with them some necessary and important stuffs about bitcoin including the does and don'ts, the dips and how risky it could be if taken on a short term target.

It's true that sometimes we might be thinking we are doing the best for people yet it ends up falling into our hands as victims of blames from wrong decisions taken but at the same time we ought to do them in a careful and serene way, so before one can mention altcoins to people you must make sure they are well acquainted with some level of knowledge because scam is real and they are looking for preys who are new to the space hence referrals showed be done consciously.
