He hasn't come from outerspace though lol he used to be president for 4 years and in all those years like every other president and presidential candidate before and in the future he has been pro-censorship and pro-surveillance. There is no reason to believe that after decades of severe control, the US government is suddenly deciding to give that up and become pro-freedom!

The absolute best case scenario is that Trump will be just like Biden overall and mostly let the crypto business grow like it has been.

But Trump brings new risks:

1. Trump promises to deport 5% of the US workforce, which will disrupt the US economy.

2. Trump promises to make abortion illegal which will require a giant new police state, which will almost definitely effect crypto in a negative way.

3. Trump is getting into the crypto business himself, so he will be using the full power of the US government to pump his business at the expense of everybody else in the business. If Trump is elected, everybody in the business will now have to compete directly with the President of the United States and the US government, which will be a nightmare.

I don't think he is bluffing. I think Trump means what he says. He wants to reduce the energy prices though that's the most important promise he made about crypto because bitcoin uses electricity to function. Cheap energy means more miners can contribute and that means more hash rate. More hash rate means a more decentralized and more secure mining network.

Do you think he can't bring electricity prices down? I think he can.

Let's go with the worst possibility though; He never liked bitcoin and he was bluffing. What's the other option? Kamala? A certified crypto hater? No thank you. I'd rather take my chances with Trump.

Evidently Trump has Ethereum (and no Bitcoin?): https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-called-crypto-scam-now-owns-million-ethereum-disclosure-bitcoin-2024-8

Have fun staying poor, Trump.

If that's true, he has some bad advisors. Probably his son told him to do it and pump Vitalik's bags. I don't believe that trump bought ETH on his own, but it fell much harder than bitcoin. ETH is what? 55% of its ATH right now, while bitcoin is down less than 20%.
I don't think that he's bluffing. He wants to do it because it's his strategy to show himself as a businessman who supports the market, wants to help people make money and is against CBDC. I just hope he gets to try to do what he promised because his opponent doesn't promise anything worth voting for.

I would assume he got the crypto as payment, e.g. in exchange for some secret documents he sold to our enemies. I too doubt that he actually took it upon himself to buy ETH.

Trump is definitely better than the only other option Kamala but at the same time I cannot accept that he meant what he said he has already backtracked his statements in the past and same thing can be repeated and there is no valid point apart from his own benefits if he happens to do anything crypto friendly but yeah people would choose Trump over Kamala any given day.

Meanwhile, the Bitcoin community has extended its support to Trump and invited him to the Bitcoin conference in 2024. He had assured the community at his speech that he would and I quote below
The organizers of the BTC conference invited him to give a speech at the program, they do not represent the BTC community and i don't think it is correct to say the BTC community has given their support to Donald Trump. However, i have to agree that he has got the support of so many bitcoiners of late, a lot of them believe all the things he has been saying, do i believe it? No, but i will just wait and see, because i could be wrong.

1. Trump promises to deport 5% of the US workforce, which will disrupt the US economy.
I had totally forgotten about that.
If he does that, it will not just disrupt US economy it would severely hurt the US economy specially when it is accompanied by his radical decisions on Tarrif War with China.

What do you think is he bluffing with the statement above or is he deceiving the community to gain vote and become the next President of the US?

Politicians are known for play roles of lies and not talk and do. I'm not sure about the legacy of Donald Trump but he work during his time as President of the united state and fulfill many of his campaign promises. Aside from the way he talk and things said to people arrogantly, he made sure to do what he promised people and I'm sure his intention is genuine about Bitcoin too, he want to get to the office through the help of Bitcoin community too.

However, my only problem is that Bitcoin has alot of enemies within the US and many rich elite wouldn't watch and let Bitcoin be allowed so wealth distribution doesn't leave them. If Bitcoin becomes the power of the commoners, many people that got rich though their own stocks and centralized system will be angry and people wouldn't worship them like they are doing now in the future.

A politician will say anything at election time to get the edge in the survey and, eventually, the poll, especially for a candidate who is on a must-win because of the charges. One of the issues that he will have an edge on is Bitcoin, as the opposing candidate has already adopted the continuation of the Cryptocurrency crackdown.

He may be supportive of Bitcoin, but he is making a grandstand of the subject; yes, I believe that when elected, he will do something to support Bitcoin in the US, but I highly doubt that he will fulfil all the promises he made about Bitcoin adoption.

It's important to note that surveys don't represent final results, just like in 2016 when people believed Clinton would beat Trump but then Trump won convincingly. It's still very early to confirm who will be the winner.
Yep, the survey data doesn't guarantee for the result. It is just the current prediction, voters still have time to consider changing their choice. If you check again my post above, I never claimed anything about who will win the president election. Sure, Trump is possible to win it although the current survey is on his side. Sometimes the survey institution or media can be very subjective, we can't fully trust the survey data.

If we cannot confirm that Trump is lying to us, that means there is still a chance for us if he is elected and keeps his promise. And that makes a difference and there is a reason for us to support Trump because the current administration is not friendly to bitcoin. If Kamala is elected, she will continue to maintain an unfriendly attitude towards crypto as she is also part of the current administration.
I personally think there is a chance. It may be not as sweet as his promise but he is probably trying to make a more friendly policy for crypto industry. However, if Kamala becomes the next president, I think there will be no much change in crypto policy. But we can't suspect that the crypto industry will be worse even if Kamala is elected. The US government also has an interest in crypto, they get taxes from crypto. The crypto industry also helps the growth of the economic sector in the US. It is not really surprising if they consider to treat crypto with a more friendly way.

I know it. But someone can change his mind due to political interests. I don't say US government will be totally friendly to crypto industry suddenly. I just assume there is a chance that US government will be a more friendly with crypto industry because they actually get advantages if crypto industry can be developed in US.

IMO

I support him but I have to admit that he is over exaggerating his support for cryptocurrency. That is unnecessary and meaningless.

Expecting Trump to win the election and deliver on all his crypto promises is naive even if he has indeed changed his stance on crypto. The only thing we can expect if he is elected, he will be more open to the crypto industry and not harsh and hostile to crypto like the Biden administration is doing. Just that much would be much better for us than what we are currently experiencing.

If Trump is ever given a chance to win to become president of the US again, when he implements the above, it will be a good sign when that happens. And that's in favor of all of us bitcoin and crypto communities around the world.

Especially if he can do the third thing you said, pal, because that has a big impact on all crypto enthusiasts in this field of business, in my opinion.

Yes, the impact on them will be that they will all be forced out of business. Go ask somebody from Russia how profitable it is to compete against Vladimir Putin--the absolute best thing that can happen to you is that you simply go out of business. At worst, you "accidentally" fall out of a hotel window.

If your hope is that Bitcoin is outlawed in the USA in favor of Trump's personal currency that he wholly owns, then yes, by all means vote for Trump...

I think he's fucking with us and the gullibility of the average US voter to garner as much votes as he can, and as Joe Budden says in his hit skit in Loiter Squad, as soon as shit hits the fan he's gonna leave our asses out in the wind, promises unkept, and we can't do shit about it cause he's the president.

I urge people to be more smart when it comes to choosing their next president, and not vote for someone with piles upon piles of criminal paperwork stacked against them cause that's one good recipe for a disastrous presidential run and 6 years, but then again we're already fighting the same war here in the Philippines with some incompetent fuckwads seated in the top positions of the Philippine Government so I guess until it concerns us, you Americans are on your own. LOL.

Additionally, the surveys were most likely manipulated or faked, and the most important thing in deciding the election results was based on the electoral college vote, not the national popular vote. That's why candidates try to compete to dominate battleground states like Pennsylvania because this state has 27 electoral votes and many other battleground states.

Last week Harris seemed to have the upper hand over Trump, but after her economic policy speech she lost much of her support and Trump once again took the lead. It can be seen that the chase is quite interesting between the two candidates.

....

As we all know politicians are not trustworthy but clearly in this case, if we want to find opportunities for the crypto industry then Trump is the better choice. Look at what the Biden administration is doing with cryptocurrency and things will stay the same or get worse if Democrats continue to run the White House. Other issues aside, and as a bitcoin investor, I see no reason to continue supporting any democratic candidate.

Okay, I looked: Bitcoin went up 500% under president Biden.

I think most Bitcoin investors would be very happy if things "stayed the same" and Bitcoin went up another 500% under Harris.

The only reason to hate on Democrats is because you want abortion to be illegal in the USA, not because anything related to Bitcoin.

What do you think is he bluffing with the statement above or is he deceiving the community to gain vote and become the next President of the US?
I don't like Trump, just like I don't like Biden/Harris, but at least Trump is smart enough to understand that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are here to stay, so at that point you better play along and try to get any type of advantage for you and your country. Not sure what the democrats' plan is, being against cryptos for the rest of their existence while the rest of the world keeps adopting them?

I imagine these two candidates are going to keep flip-flopping between 50% until election day.

The polls are very tight (although they always seem to be at this time of the year), but let's not forget that it isn't the popular vote that's going to elect the next president, but the electoral vote. And we don't know yet who is going to have the upper hand here as the numbers keep changing.

If only he like any other politicians would actually keep to their mandate when elected then it would be a great and big achievement for the Bitcoin community and crypto users in the US too, like maybe even the situation with mixers being ban here in the forum might be changed since the influence of his Bitcoin agenda would be rubbed off with that of the SEC. what everyone is looking for is a system where the government and Bitcoin can closely interrelate which will be so much benefits for both parties.

But the thing is that those politicians, not just in the US, really know to wake up the interest of their voters to go and vote for them. And obviously, we have seen what Donald J Trump is doing here, he uses Bitcoin to his advantage to even mentioned it as part of their political agenda.

But then again, we don't know if we can trust him on this or not, still up to us whether we will vote for him just because of his pro-crypto stance, or we are going to choose the lesser of two evil and then hope for the best in the next 4 years for crypto in the US.
