Why I think trading is no different from Gambling!

When it comes to crypto, you're absolutely right, trading is no different than gambling.

With the exception of BTC and some other major coins, price movements are 100% based on speculation, and you have about a 50/50 chance of winning or losing on any given long or short trade.

The only difference is with trading there isn't really a "house edge", other than the trading fees, which are usually pretty miniscule. Your only hope to distinguish the two would be investing in long-term conviction plays, i.e. stuff you think will increase on the future based on not only future momentum but actual technical merit as well.

Good luck, and just don't let yourself get margin called! Stop losses are important.

Every true trader knows trading is similar with gambling but you can beat the odds with technical analysis which exactly what I believe you are lacking at this point because you sound ignorant of what trading could really do to someone who is generally new to it. if you know and understand trading fully you would understand that you most of ones actions that turn out to fall are based on poor analysis and lack of knowledge that you have everything on trading as 50/50. once you know that you would never regret anymore.

Hence OP if you are new to trading I think you having the mentality that you would make money from it asap is very delusional because every pro trader you see is an example of failed and try again, patience, discipline and consistency. they all had a bad story but kept doing it before they saw the profit so you should be aware that your are gambling your money but slightly better if you follow good analysis.

It was lack of experience of the nature of cryptocurrency a d it various risk factors as related to trading s gambling that is why you are able to dive into trading when you already quite gambling, because hard it been you are experience, you should know that both gambling and trading are no different from each other and for that you should avoid trading same way you avoid trading.

Cryptocurrency is a volitile assets and some of the trading features are highly technical which make it near impossible for the trader to make so much head ways in their trading activities.

Trading risk and gambling risk are like the same. But trading is better if you know about it very well. Trade with the amount of money that you can afford to lose.

Trading can even be worse than or be like  gambling if you use high leverage. If you use small leverage like 1x and using small amount of money to trade, you may see it different from gambling.

You probably traded with futures trading because of which you lost a lot of money. Futures trading is a very dangerous trading process where you lose money and never get it back, which is why you might have compared trading to gambling. In this case I also compare futures trading to gambling because just as in gambling the money is lost forever, in futures trading the money is lost forever. If you were spot trading you would have no chance of losing money but if you were trading with a good currency you would have a chance of recovery and profit. Trading is not very easy You might have thought the trading platform too easy due to which you lost money from here. Remember to trade without experience, patience and greed. If you can trade using all these strategies, I think you can be successful in trading.

They are not completely the same but what you realized is right about trading. In here, someone's profit is someone's loss. That's the same with gambling and many aspects they share common things. But I hope that you won't compare investing and gambling because they also share the same thing and that's about risk.

This varies on how we look at it and there are also other types of trading like the one that's mentioned which is futures which is a total gamble whether you know what you're doing or not. The thing here is you should know how to play the part of your emotion, as they both share risk, the risk that you're taking in trading can be mitigated and the same goes in gambling depending on the amount that you're willing to lose.

Yes, there's no difference because you don't have any trading knowledge and skills that is totally gambling and if you are trading with futures then that's another gamble without knowledge.
You better focus first on learning before you trade in a live market if you just follow what others say to you without a strategy the chances to make a profit are lesser than losing.

The only reason why you lost is you don't have patience, skills, and knowledge if you don't know how to read the chart and you just randomly put a position on any price that's a 100% gamble because you don't know where to enter and where to exit.

Future trading is likely gambling but spot trading is way safer because you can hold the assets until they recover or make a profit unlike in futures.

You're right, there is even a thought that what we usually do is related to gamble. But in trading you have all the possible control to avoid getting huge loss and only aim for profit. Unlike in gambling that most odds you will get is 50:50 due to the nature of luck, well, sports betting is different as it depends on the games with different factors like players, ref, judge, the organization it self.

What's difference in trading is you can learn and take advantage of that, having knowledge and personal experience also will be your advantage compared to most gambling which fully rely on luck, like you just throw a coin or dice, then that's it, you just trust in your luck and have strength for throwing the dice or coin.

In some recent research, the percentage of people that win more in gambling are more than those that make profit in trading. But the difference is very low which we should not even talk about than to say that both gambling and trading are risky because most gamblers and traders are losing. Although what you said is right but are traders doing it the right ways? Most traders are just using trading to gamble.

Trading will not make you lost all of your money, while gambling will make you lost all of your money because in gambling you're risking 100% of your bet for something. On the other hand trading might make you lose as low as 99%, at least you can still manage to save 1% except the exchange delisted the coins.

The reason why you think trading is also like gambling is because you were not schooled in trading. You did not learn and practice because if you had done that and be capable of using the same trading strategy to make profits different times, you will know that trading and gambling are not the same thing. They are similar but still very different but some beginners trade like they are gambling which is also why we have many new traders losing money when they should be making profits. Trading is simple when you know what you are doing and being capable of interpreting charts with the knowledge you have. Your post is just an example why we should no ignore learning how to trade before we start trading or we will be having this type of mindset which will only make to be losing constantly.

If you will do the same thing you've done in gambling to trading you will commit the same mistake because in gambling you will base on your luck and faith to win, but in trading you will use your skills and knowledge not to lose your money because its about prediction the market price if with the help of the different tools such as indicators so you can cut the loss immediately and take back the profit if you think the next move is ideal to make a position. Now its up to you are you willing to lose your money with your skills or with your luck.

You said it yourself that you were not schooled in crypto trading before you started, that is why you lost all your money. Crypto trading is hard but most newbies don't know this, they think that it's a get rich quick scheme, after they lose all their money due to lack of experience, they'll see it as the regular casino or sports bet gambling. It's true that crypto trading and gambling have similarities like not knowing what the outcome your bet or trade will be but the difference between them is that gambling depends mainly on luck while trading needs understanding how the market works. It's easier to be profitable in trading if you're a professional, you'll know how to minimize loses but in gambling, you're depending on luck to win.
