In this century, almost every household has a PC or laptop these days, and most of them have GPUs with untapped processing power just sitting there, which I believe they can use it to rent their GPU to earn crypto.

Now this is a recent advancement in crypto blockchain that made this possible. i believe there are many projects requiring individuals to contribute their unused GPU power for people to rent. so I got interested in NetMind power project, which allows GPU power to earn their NMT tokens, although the project is in early-stage, just recently got partnerships with major cexs like Bitget to be listed tomorrow. so I can see through the dicussion on their TG group, imo this is good starting renting out GPU to earn.


But don't get me wrong guys. I believe in the future, GPU will be more powerful than current ones now. And it will make more mining efficient and earn more rewards.

This is a major blocker for many talented individuals to build and run their own AI application. For comparison, I have tried to Run Fooocus Ai in my laptop and it took around 65 seconds in average to generate 4 images at one go. Mine is a high config laptop with 8 GB of GPU. So you can understand how GPU intensive the AI applications are, especially when thousands of people across the world are trying to run the same application at any given point of time.

I think this kind of decentralized GPU system can revolutionize the Ai application industry and make it accessible to everyone. The cost is a major factor here. So if the decentralized GPU system is able to keep the costs low, that will be a great help.

There are G series from AMD that has an integrated GPU from its CPU, it's cheaper and I believe that most that are in the average neighborhood would love to have that as an alternative instead of having a GPU.

What ever is the case, imho it makes sense with GPU rigs, but i don't understand why people want to sacrifice their work/house computers for that. I am certain that you realize that constantly using that GPU for mining shortens the lifespan of said PC or laptop. And top of using electricity, you don't even have any idea if that's NMT is going to be worth anything at the end.

the problem is, is the utilization of GPU for mining worth the reward? there are other project as well that utilizes GPU such as RNDR and IONET but we still don't know how reliable they are for the task that they promised to do like can it be utilized for AI, or rendering? is it fast enough? that's the problem.

until this solution proven to be effective enough, saying that the future of earning crypto is through GPU is too early, we haven't seen the limitation and the sustainability of the entire economic model, we are still at early phase so there are more data need to be gathered.
moreover, these depin services are still unclear on their capability to go against big computing power provider such as amazon aws and so on.

Definitely, GPUs will only continue to improve and it will never be out of demand I mean, look at Nvidia's stock right now. Still the idea of renting out GPUs is nice especially for someone like me with a MSI gaming PC but I barely use it to its full potential. It will be a nice way to get some income, not to mention I just checked the Value of NMT and it's on the high side. It won't be bad to rent out my GPU and also check NMT on Bitget, I saw there's a poolX event for it so that's nice.

I don't think so. The thing about GPUs is that they are very costly compared to the power they draw, and the amount of mining capacity they could produce, not to mention that you need a lot of those to even farm enough bitcoins/crypto to get around with breaking even. GPUs nowadays that are produced by Nvidia and AMD are more catered towards AI, Productivity, and of course gaming, while we could squeeze in mining in between those, it's still not gonna be as powerful as a dedicated miner.

I think dedicated ASIC miners are the way to go when mining. We can't go wrong with those, plus it's way easier to acquire now than in the past so it's not like it's going to be harder to farm with those compared to GPUs.

Depends on the price you are paying for the GPU and more important is the price you pay for electricity bill. In the early age of mining, Even though unethical, I made some profit mining through CPU at my office computer. It was small but risk free as I didn't paid for either the hardware or the electricity. CPU mining is almost dead now. But there are still options for gpu mining. Cryptoknight, Kawpow are some algorithm that are still ASCI resistant and if you are able to find a good one early, you can bag some initial coins and sell them when the price rises. If you have cheap or free electricity, using a algorithm switching multi pool too can be beneficial to get you quick money without the hassle of manually finding the best coin to mine.

Are you a developer? I like the way you brokedown your analysis.. from what I can gather, netmind has a goal of making AI both accessible and affordable for all. It costs a fortune to run a GPU though, I guess they want to remove the factor. For the token. Just search cmc and Noticed it recently made its debut on BG.

GPU mining is great, but with too many PoS "shitcoins" on the market, I doubt the industry will take off. Only AI will be able to make good use of GPUs. With limited options available for GPU miners, you'd be lucky to turn a profit before the market moves on to the next big thing in crypto. And don't let me get started on renting hashpower from third-parties. Especially NiceHash. Totally not worth it, imo.

I miss the good old days where you could mine ETH with GPUs at the comfort of own your home. At least, we have Ethereum Classic.

As personal computers and laptops grows rapidly, people have powerful GPUs at their disposal and not properly in use. On my side, using this free service in mining or redeeming cryptocurrency will be another way of earning crypto while one can partake in the process of blockchain projects so the obvious goal of software such as NetMind that allows individuals to rent out GPU power in exchange for NMT tokens would be to make consumption of such unused resources very popular and open up new ways for people to earn this cryptocurrency.
